The 2025 Toyota Camry XSE is a BRILLIANT Hybrid Sedan!

- For 2025, the Toyota Camry is ALL NEW with a refreshed exterior and a shockingly upscale interior. Another major change: the Camry is now only available with a hybrid powertrain, and that peppy V6 has been sent to the graveyard.
For the 9th generation, the refreshed Camry echoes the styling cues of the Prius, Crown and the all-electric BZ4x. Every Camry comes with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, with either 2 or 3 electric motors - two up front for FWD with 225hp combined, or two up front and one at the rear axle for AWD with 232hp (yeah, that 3rd motor only delivers 7 more hp!). Gas mileage is predictably really good, between 44 and 51mpg combined depending on what trim and/or wheels you choose. While it’s slower than the outgoing V6 Camry, it still scuttles from not to 60 in about 7.3 seconds. Inside, the revamped Camry is the best it’s ever been with lots of space for a midsize family sedan and a plethora of must-have bells and whistles that come standard, like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual zone automatic climate control, lane keep assist, emergency braking with pedestrian detection, among others.
Some form of digitized gauge display comes standard on every model, with only the higher trims getting a whopping 12.3” digital display. An 8” center dash infotainment screen is standard on the LE and SE trims, while a larger 12.3” screen is standard on the XLE and XSE trims. Those two trims also add leather, heated seats, heated steering wheel, ambient lighting and other upscale amenities that we found to be rather impressive in a mid-$30Ks sedan.
For those audio lovers out there, you can upgrade to a JBL premium audio system on the higher trims. On the road, the Camry is composed, quiet, comfortable and is truly a joy to drive - what it may lack in power or true sport, it more than makes up for in its reliability and bang for your buck. Pricing starts at $29,495 for the LE, and climbs to $35,695 for the top-of-the-line XSE trim.

Just purchased this today in Heavy Metal with black roof and a red interior with the Premium Plus package. Originally thinking of getting white with a black roof but this was in stock (just came in to dealership today) and it looked very classy in person.
Congrats! I loved reviewing this car.
Toyota made a positive change especially in the interior
The reviews are very good
Thanks!
Get mine on the 14 of next week!
They are making these so good, and with the updated interior, makes me question my Lexus ES.
This is the exact spec I am getting.
It looks cool, and the gas mileage sure is great, but I’m hanging onto my RAV V6 for as long as I can. So I can enjoy that Toyota V6 goodness, which is a thing of the past apparently.
I would like to know how much faster I can go in the 2025 Camry XSE AWD in electric mode
That’s not all wheel drive variant. The all wheel drive variant has a badge “AWD” on the back!
Loved the review, question : does the XSE have interior ambient lighting?
Yes! I just didn’t show it bc I was shooting during super bright sun. Sorry about that.
Yes, and so does the XLE. It also has available memory power power seats and rain sensing wipers..Sadly it is not available on the XSE..
Minimal lighting inside
What is the 0 to 60 time???
The ambient lighting white white lights that only illuminate the floor by you feet. More of a case of technically it has ambient lighting. But it is not a selling feature.
Reliability sales this car nothing else
No lies were told.
Dude is showing off the pretty legs 👍🏾
Are the seats comfortable, especially for long trips ?
They were definitely comfortable! I didn’t have the car long enough to do a full long road trip but I was more than satisfied for the few hours I did have it.
This car doesn't actually shift gears, it has no gears but an ecvt. Also the hump on the floor of the back seat isn't there for all wheel drive, it's there to add ridgity. This car has a rear electric motor so the drive shaft hump on the floor is not needed for a drive shaft but only for structural ridgity
Do you know what a ECVT is and how it works?
What is 0to 60 time?
I share it during the engine/power section! Estimated about 7.2 seconds.
I dont mind hybrids. But i will build a car myself if we ever go full electric. Plus you called it a CVT. But for someone who works at Toyota...its not actually a CVT engine by definition 😂 bit different engine to your typical CVT.
Planetary gearbox. People would have complained anyway. OMG it has a PGB. I don't understand them but I will never drive a car with a gear box. What the heck was Toyota thinking. They will complain no matter.
First u said car is noisy then it is quite . So how noisy this thing is on a freeway?
Engine is loud & noisy under acceleration - car is quiet & composed when cruising. No overwhelming wind noise etc.
Front coulda been designed a little better
Ahhh really? I like this redesign a lot.
@@overdrive_reviewsyes straight headlamps no crab 🦀 like design.
Low profile tires may look good .
But are not good
True
The look of the wheels is worth 10% worse MPG to you?
not to mention more frequent, higher cost tire and rim replacements.
44MPG is still amazing. Soooo yes lol
@@overdrive_reviews when you're driving the car, you don't see the wheels. Lol
So losing 10% range AND costing more for tires, rims, etc... this is a hybrid. Not like this is a sacrifice at the altar of sports car performance.
But to each their own. Lol
@@brandononbrand I think wheels are like the hair of the car; they totally make the look. Some folks don't care about the "art" of it all, but I do...and care v much about what the wheels look like!
Trd lower trim than xse get your facts right
The TRD would not stand out at all without the V6.. IT WAS JUST AN SE V6 WITH HEAVIER SPORTS SUSPENSION.. IT WAS A STRIPPER when it came to luxurious appointments.. meh 😕
Lol I chuckle every time someone talks about the TRD. I mean, can they tell you it’s a turd any other way?
Hostile much.
@@1Springloaded He is not hostile. A lot of people think the Toyota Camry TRD was especial.. It's just an SE with a V6.. It was very base in many ways. No upgraded running lights.. no home link. No available sunroof no heated seats.. I loaded up LE felt more premium than that.
Topgun grannymobile! #1
If you’re old and boring, this ride is for you! 😊
Best vehicle for the over 60 age group or pre nursing home buyer.
My grandpa loves it and would buy one but he doesn’t drive anymore. 😢
Hahha nooooooo!
@@overdrive_reviews
A DEFINITE YES!!
Everybody drives a Camry clown. Educate yourself
What the hell would suggest , an emasculating soccer mom SUV or a 70k pickup confederate-mobile ?
@@madclone84
I could eat a bowl of alphabet soup and crap out a smarter statement than whatever you just said. 💩 🤪
That front grill is ugly and sticks out a long way. Parking curbs are going to have fun with it.
Personally think this is a waste of money. All flash without the real function. LE for me.
Idk - while the engine might be largely the same , the XSE wheels, interior leather, larger screens, ambient lighting, huge sunroof, and improved safety features make it worth the $$$ to me!
XSE and XLE are much nicer and upgraded sedans..They are always my choice ..
@@overdrive_reviews update here: so the dealership gave me a 2k discount on the SE, so I ended up paying 32 for the SE lol
Shout out to the SE family!! 😅😅😅
50k
worldwide cars are up, honda is sellling civic 34 to 47G. Cheap cars are gone
It’s 39k clown
@@madclone8439k for that thing. They can keep . I am going with KiA K5 GT 35k 😂😂😂
@@kromahj lol okay. Kia is a cheaper product vs a Toyota so enjoy
@@madclone84 Yupe , Toyota are just overpriced. To get a panoramic roof in Camry you need a higher trim . K5 GT line you can get a panoramic roof for 29k with 360 cameras and blind side camera also .
Okay, and then?
