I had both ... the civic is not as good or fun. The ST has better power and the feeling of driving is better. You know you're in a good car. The civic you think ...its nice but.... the st is bang on.

i love the interior of the SI and the outside of the ST.

Except when it’s a Honda... it’s like building blocks for toddlers compared to German auto. Honda is king of “there’s an easier way to do this”
I've had a manual Civic for 10 yrs and have done nothing but oil changes, tires, brake pads, shocks & battery. The car has been excellent. I will be getting an Si soon. On the other hand, I had a used Ford Escape for 3 yrs. It addition to electrical issues, I changed bad door alarm sensor, leaky gaskets, shocks, sway bar, coil, rear window hinge, rotors & pads, and the icing on the cake before I got rid of it, $2000 catalytic converters went bad and it wouldn't pass inspection. I will stay away from Ford.

@@ronprice8461 Hondata is seperate from Honda BUT your dealership may work with you to install Hondata and that won't impact your warranty. Hondata also offers a warranty on their products.
I’ve owned a 2017 Civic Si for a year and a half now, and I’ve experienced zero issues with it. only small thing is that the shifter boot has started to rip from friction during shifts, but that’s it. car currently has 26,500 miles and is completely stock aside from a muffler delete and an air filter.
I've owned a 17 Focus ST with 23k miles n the shifter boot looks brand new and I drive like a lunatic. What happened to Honda quality lol
Jason Cotellessa to be fair, I haven’t heard of this happening to anyone else, and it never happened in my 9th gen Si. must’ve just been the way it was installed in my car.
@@jaymingles that's not a big deal. I was just breaking balls. My focus needed an 02 sensor at 12k miles. Now I don't know if that was my fault. I bought it with 7 miles and beat on it soon as I drove it off the lot. I was doing 120 with 22 miles on it on the parkway and racing it with 80 miles on it n smoked a WRX lol He was like damn that thing is fast. I might've caused it or it was a fluke. I don't care Ford paid for it n gave me a nice Fusion to go to work in while they worked on my car. They all break. Just buy what you like. Don't give a shit what anyone tells you. Just enjoy man.

ST2 in Williams AZ - all I have on my 2015 ST is an agency power exhaust and a K&N, I have met quite a few Honda's on the 40, 17 and Mingus etc. and they don't have anything. I was taunted, they had to pay. (rice is what you put beneath your chicken)

I have the 18 SI Coupe with the HFP package. I bought it as a fun commuter and am not disappointed at all. Had a the 9th gen na 2.4 and was very sceptical on the 1.5. After getting used to the new engine I wouldn’t go back. Same hp but the delivery on the 1.5 is through most of the gear. And that front LSD is amazing with the HFP suspension.
K24 is the better engine but cant go wrong with a civic anyways. Longevity reliability potential all go to k24.

Can’t go wrong with one or the other just what’s your preference. I like the looks of the new si sedan, wasn’t a big fan of the smaller 1.5L motor, that’s just too small imo. I went with an st and have been happy with it.
You have to remember, Honda owns the record for highest horsepower per liter. Honda's always done more with less. Yeah agree I'd rather have the 2.0t from the Accord... But is the SI underpowered? No it's not at all.
I’ve had Honda’s and worked on them I know they’re great. I feel like right now they don’t want the si cutting into the type r’s market. I really liked the si but the price and smaller engine and the issues of oil dilution I didn’t fall in love with this si.
I have a 17 focus st my wife has 17 civic si love them both hers has k tune mine has blow off and muffler delete
Focus ST if you want to be fast, civic SI if you want reliability
Im not saying this makes the focus win over the civic but mountune sells a "big turbo" for about the same cost as the Quafe lsd, with a tune it pushed the peak power farther into the rpm band. Beyond increasing power this reduces wheel spin*

I had a 15' ST with that was fully "stage 3", tuned for E30, and had suspension mods. Horrible traction and got boring quick so I sold it after it was fully finished which was after about 2 years of ownership. I feel like the Si is superior in every way.
12:41 that’s my friends Veloster N. She’s an amazing driver. Made me shit my pants every 10 seconds lol. Yes definitely get the car, the exhaust pops in sport mode are insane. Hugs corners like a boss!
I've had a 17 ST for about a year. Mountune Turboback exhaust and intake. Depo Racing IC and tune. Car is fun but still getting wheel hop with upgraded RMM
I got the Cobb RMM and stage 1 tune. NSV is bad but wheel hop almost eliminated. Which mount did you get? BTW mine is 17 ST as well. Absolutely love this car. Launching is great after mount.
@@ADDwithJTC Mountune RMM. The tires that came on my car aren't the greatest either. I'm due for tires in a month and hopefully this help help resolve my wheel hop.
@@monteebuerns5713 that's a great mount. I noticed my wheel hop lessen too when I got the Goodyear F1s off n put on a Briway I think it was. Now I got somethin else on there cause of a pothole I can't remember. I'm gonna run outside n check when I get the chance lol
@@ADDwithJTC I don't think its a problem with the mount, I do think my tires (sumitomos ick) have a lot to do with it. The sumitomos were on the car when I got it

Turbo had nothing to do with recall, from what i know they put lincoln head gasket on rs instead of rs head gasket that had different waterway flow ports.
Why is the Si not compared more to the Fiesta ST? Close to same HP and weight.
Good point. That would be more fair in a lot of ways minus the Fiesta being way smaller
Brian Kirby I agree here. Despite the ST being stopped from production, it compares better to the Type R Civic. Ford really doesn’t have an apples to apples car to compare against the Si.

I still own my 2010 civic sedan si since day 1. Going on 10 years as a daily driver. Say what you want but I love my car, it’s a pocket rocket in traffic AND it outlast any American car longevity wise. How many dodge neons srt you still see around? Exactly.. 10 years from now see how many of these ST’s are around that’s the true question.
Will not outlast any American car. Reaching a bit far there my man. I know people with 04 Focus 300k miles original engine n trans. Happens a lot with other American models as well. Been a mechanic on all types of vehicles. Believe me when I tell you that Honda, Toyota, Nissan, they all break.

Focus ST should have a better power to weight ratio. Focus ST gets 12.79 lbs/hp while the civic si coupe gets 14.0 lbs/hp
