Most Australians don’t know the man’s name. Shouldn’t take a Swedish power metal band to give the man the credit he deserves,
This is one of those songs that is the perfect example of "on 1st listen it didn't really grab me, but after watching the Sabaton History on it........ love it now". Amazing story and lyrics hit way deeper once you know the story. Great reaction 👍
Thanks
The highest medal is the Victoria Cross for Australia
that is only in recent years it became the Victoria cross for Australia and the same goes for new Zealand and their Victoria cross for new Zealand also here is a link to a documentary about the Victoria cross for valor czcams.com/video/RbS4Ivl85GQ/video.html
Someone needs to petition the Australian Government to give him a Victoria Cross
No shit! What the hell is wrong with the government not recognizing his heroism?!
@@brigidtheirish Took 70 plus years for Teddy Sheehan to get his, sad but Bull will probably never get a VC
@@boomerharris2965 That's a travesty.
you know there's something worng when a other country reconizing him and not his own country.
Most likely won't give him it bcs of his "anger and disrespect" of officers (symptoms of his ptsd
Love this song and this story. Bull’s story deserved to be told and yes…. he definitely deserves the Victoria Cross. Thanks for the awesome reaction!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for reacting to the Ballad of Bull. I've only seen one other reaction to the song. It is one of my favorite stories and songs from Sabaton. Thanks Again.
Hard same, I get emotional everything I hear this song
Do to Australia being part of the British commonwealth, they have their own verson of the Victorian Cross as the highest-ranking military award,
Yes we do, the Victoria Cross for Australia, NZ and Canada do too. In practice the medal is no higher or lower than the VC and it is truly in formalities
He suffered ptsd and lived in virtual poverty. Bloody disgusting way for a hero to go.
I wish my government would give him an congressional medal of honor, he is more of a hero than quite a few Americans who received it
Great comment Jason, the problem is that no one can get a VC unless the act of valor is reported by an Australian or British commissioned officer. The highest award they can get is the Military Medal. My grandfather Milford is in the same boat as Bull. He got a Military Medal as his act of valor was reported by a Sergeant. and not commissioned office. If you read the citation that got him the Military Medal what he did was definitely entitled to get the VC.
My wait is over.
Thanks for reacting to this song. I love it so much. The lyrics video really butchered the lyrics though...
Joakim but also Tommy plays the piano in Sabaton.
Thanks for reacting to this. I am one of those who loves this song. It's a story that deserves to be told.
Beautiful song and story, even if it isn't the usual Metal pace that Sabaton brings. Glad that you covered this one. One of my favorite underrated songs of theirs is "White Death", I'd recommend checking that one out whenever you get the chance
I second this - I love "White Death"!
It it coming soon
Love this song. I am glad you did the Ballad of Bull history.
another good sabaton song is white death on the album coat of arms
Please do a reaction to Cliffs of Gallipoli
It is on my list.
Thanks for reacting to this beautiful song! It tells about the heroism and it's pleasant to listen to calm down :-)
My dad is a former Australian Army soldier so I can agree with the previous comments 😊
If you havn't done already, you should react to A Lifetime of War (english and swedish version) as it is (in my opinion) one of the most emotional songs Sabaton has writen. love your stuff, dude
I've done it already.
I’m pretty sure that Australian troops allied USA in many atacks and wars not just Americans fought on the beaches
This song is definitely in my top 5 Sabaton songs.
Thanks for reacting to this one. Never really took to this song until now, which says something about the importance to experience music "together" with other people (Touchy and the Touchy Community in this case).
I seem to remember that The Last Stand is already on the list, but I'll second that suggestion anyway. Another song that's a little different is The Royal Guard (which I know is on the list). These are very far from songs like Fields of Verdun and The Lion From the North, but they are pretty powerful in their own way.
All are scheduled soon.
@@TouchyReactions Haha, I remember the first Behind the Scenes video you dropped on Patreon - the Sabaton list back then was SO long and I think you've done at least half of them now and STILL the list gets added to every other day. This journey, man. The never-ending Sabaton Journey...
Great song, great reaction.
Do To Hell and Back. A very enlightening song. Sabaton did a great job as usual.
I've done it already
This made my day, thank you so much! Amazing video! I don't even care that you butchered my name.
If I can suggest another Song please do "far from the fame"
Also Im not from Australia.
I've done it already. It's on my Patreon channel right now.
A true badass.
I've somehow missed the history video on this one until now. I knew the generalities of Bull's story just from the song and what I know of WWII, but I didn't know some of the details. And I my have ruined this song a little bit for myself now that I know Australia did him dirty not recognizing his actions like that. My reaction was exactly the same as yours when I heard that.
There’s a movie called ‘Australia’ and it shows the bombing of Darwin.
Real hero! ❤
is he still not awarded by australia government until now ?
Just noting a little thing here. You mentioned "Price of a mile" here, and it's not the first time that you talk a little about it in a reaction to another song. I know you said you didn't like the song, and I understand why, but you coming back to it says something. While maybe it's not instantly likeable, it's a story that is worth thinking of, and the song also have that something extra. Don't throw it away after just one try, I didn't like it much after the first time, but now it's one of my favourites. :)
I can appreciate that.
Great song, but the lyrics in the video was way off at part of the song.
Hey again can you add soldier of three armies from sabaton on your reaction list as well?
It's on my list
Fun Fact, Darwin was bombed 64 times during the war, Sydney was raided by Submarines
Hey I have a Sabaton song I’d like to place on your list for reacting to if that’s okay?
Anyway please react to Wehrmacht eventually.
Will do.
Come on The Last Battle or In the name of god next!, Also highest medal would be the Victoria Cross.
Those 2 songs are on my list
@@TouchyReactions Awesome! Also todays the Start of the Battle of Rorke's drif twhich sabatons song "Zulu" is about. (I should also Mention the Victoria Cross is one of the rarest awards on earth, the UK is a pretty brutal on giving it or other high medals out)
all i could think about when said: I'm still kinda shock that Australia didn't take care of this guy. Is "Take Care Of" Him Gangster Stile :D
But this is one of the Sabaton songs that just the song gets me to tear up a little. The end of "No Bullets Fly"(already Been Reacted too) the story part is another one.
Edit: you have hit 5'250 already so is there a live on the horizon ;)
Thanks
Oh crap.. you took that video. The Lyrics is worng. It says "some men come back from war in band" when it should say "some men come back from war in bag".
Lol...you telling me some men don't come back from war in a band...? That's so sad.
@@TouchyReactions LOL
whoever did the subtitles did such a bad job.
Awesome song!
Definatly worth checking out: the last stand, soldier of 3 armies and sparta!
