Shefali is spectacular in every role I have watched her in, right from Mansoon wedding , Satya till Delhi 6. She has an amazing screen presence. Masaba was refreshing in her show too. I would have loved to see Neena Gupta, Pallavi Joshi, Sushmita alone with Shefali and Masaba on one panel as their work can draw a parallel and while I love Neelam Bollywood wives was a blah show for her come back. The rest are younger and are huge on social media and they shld have had another panel as the ideas and work would match better. It’s weird how all these women aren’t in advertisements etc as it’s tiring to see only those 2-3 actresses pretty much endorsing every brand. All these women have achieved so much and are beautiful to look at.

Loved this interview. I wished there will be more time, next time. Because I felt that even in Sanjay Leela Bhansali sirs interview and this one that it was not complete. I thought there will be part 2 for some amazing interviews where you can learn. Please don't wrap in middle.

People need to stop saying women centric roles are written only now. They were written even in the 80s. Such good roles. 90s heroine never bat an eyelid when doing all those masala movies because they were enjoying the spotlight and avoided risks by saying no to whatever works came along. Now when their kids are grown up, they can take risks. So they come during such interviews and say that what a wonderful time it is to have such women centric movies. When they became a part of formula in 90s then they never said anything. Now ofcourse risks taking wouldn't pose a career threat so they go and bash about movie industry. Hypocrisy!!

Someone also needs to address the other side. It's much easier for females to get roles compared to males as leads... How many outsider men can you name who had big budget debuts like Anushka Sharma, Kriti Sanon, Disha Patani, Bhumi Pednekar, Vaani Kapoor?? Ayushman Khurana was a reality show winner, Rajkumar Rao & Karthik Aryan did small roles initially, Vicky Kaushal debued with small budget movie, SSR & Pulkit Samrat were famous from television already, Diljit, Dhanush, Prabhas were big names in regional industries, Siddharth Malhotra was experienced model & assistant director, Vikrant Massey got main roles after several years of television, small roles & finally OTT, John Abraham was international level model. Only names I can think of are SRK and Akshay. But then, their time was a different era.

Yes tbh, its difficult for both side of parties respectively. And I agree everyone comes from a different background and its long journey everyone needs to take. Accepting the fact that we live in a prejudiced world but the real question is, will it last longer? May be yes or May be not, names to take a few Abhishek bacchan son of a big star still struggling but his acting arch has changed with this experience. Siddharth Malhotra yes he entered but it took almost 12years for him to give his another hit after his super successful movie SOTY. So it will take time and patience is the key!!!

Very well made point.but again look how short shelf life the female leads have.akshay Kumar is still a "hero" but his leading ladies? Now he cast opposite manushi chillar.doesn't that tell why young women get breaks comparatively easily than males?

@@sushantgambhir8985 What do you mean "what's wrong with it"? Women that get breaks as newcomers are used as showpieces in these big budget movies. They don't have any substantial roles. So don't say it's "easier" for them to make in into the industry. Both men and women face hardships but once a man is established, he has a long shelf-life as a hero. Women...not so much.
