    Great review! Thanks. I’m not proficient in light burn, and not a fan of the glowforge software setup. How does the Gweike software work? Is there a charge? Lots of free projects? I’m assuming you can upload your own files… is there a charge for that storage? TFS

    Thank you so much for this video. The biggest thing that stood out to me that I have heard no one else mention is the the fact that gloforge needs to be connected to the internet which can be a big flop. Thanks!

    I had tons of issues getting my cloud to connect to wifi. I actually ended up sending it back and went with the omtech version which is the same thing fkr the most part but it seems to have a few less issues

    Great review. So does the machine come equipped with everything to make it safe to use right out of the box? I could tell if the duct work was something that was already installed in your studio or if it was connected to the machine.
    Also can the copper material seen in the video be used in the laser? I need one for jewelry making.

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  Před rokem +1

      Thanks and this did come with all the stuff to setup your own exhaust system with an inline fan. Most of the stuff you see in the video is my own shop setup that I already had in place.
      So you can't engrave metal at all with this kind of laser. This will work to remove paint to from coated metals and there is also a marking spray you can use the laser over and it will harden into a hard ceramic coating.

    Thanks for your review! Have you tried the XTool/Makeblock Laserbox? If so, do you have any spec comparisons or recommendation toward one or the other? I'm currently torn between the two and need a professional opinion to sway me in either direction. (To give you an idea, I would be using the laser cutter/engraver for typical Etsy work with acrylics, mirrors, wood, etc. I know either machine would fit for that purpose, but I do plan to eventually grow my shop and learn how to use the machines for more purposes down the line. I'm looking for a machine I can grow with and learn more about as well as do the typical beginner stuff.) Thank you!!

      So I don't any hands on time with the xTool Laserbox but I have looked into it. It looks very similar the Gweike Cloud setup the more I look at it. The Gweike Cloud does have a 50w laser over the laserbox with a 40w laser. This might not seem like much but you would be able to cut down on you cut and engraving times due to having a stronger laser or you can extend the life of the laser due to being able to run it at a lower power percentage and get the same results as the 40w laser. For the looks of it the Gweike Cloud also come with more stuff, like and air filter and ventilation setup. It also has a pass-through for larger materials. Also the Gweike looks like the cheaper option.
      Here is a link to the Gweike Cloud bit.ly/GweikecloudLaserCutter
      And here is a discount code to take $200 off your order "randy200"
      I do want to be transparent as well seeing that if you do use my link and code I do make a small commission from you order at no extra charge to you and it helps support my work. That being said I still think this is the better option over the Lasrbox for what you are wanting to do.
      But if you feel that you want to Laserbox more here is a link to that as well bit.ly/xToolLaserbox
      Let me know what one you get and if you have questions feel free to ask.

    Great review, are these machines sealed well enough that you can run them in the house without stinking the room up? I would vent it outside but worried about residual smoke smell lingering while using it. Thanks

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  Před rokem +1

      With my setup you can smell it a little bit but it's not bad at all or over powering. You can use a bigger fan and it might help get 100% of the smoke outside.

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  Před rokem +1

      So this laser can easily cut leather with not problems.
      When it comes to this vs the omtech one, I think they are almost the same thing to be honest. That being said if you do get this one they ship from a warehouse in the US.
      Also if you use my code and the link in my description you will save $200 on your order. This also helps support my channel 😁

    what is the distance between the laser lens and the material? I am trying to engrave small dishes that are .6 in deep. Can the laser reach? I know that you can put up to 2in thick material, but I don't think the laser can burn things 2in away. Any info on that would be great.

    Out of all the lasers you've tried, where does this one fit? Best? Average? We're thinking of getting one. Looked at the Glowforge, price is an issue. Also, like you mentioned, the "only online" part is a deal breaker for me, even though I need to be online for work. One more thing: Gweike has one bundle that includes the rotary attachment. Would you recommend?

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  Před rokem +1

      @@GomeowCreations We're looking to do the typical Etsy stuff, 2D trinkets and broadening into 3D kits (miniature houses, boxes, etc). The rotary attachment would be an extra, if we were to consider that avenue. Most materials we'd use would be ply, MDF, acrylic, similar materials. We're all pretty creative (illustration, cartooning, crafting, etc), there's no shortage of ideas.

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  Před rokem +1

      This laser sounds like a perfect fit according to that info. The rotary tools for it can come in really handy if you find something to use with them.
      A CO2 laser is much faster and stronger compared to a Diode Laser along with being all contained.

    I have had a Gweike Cloud for about 8 months. I have burned a lot of products and use only Light Burn because the included software and their Cloud software does not work. There is a trick to getting the camara calibrated and it can be very frustrating until you find the "guy" in support. The place where they fail is service, if you need parts you have to find a 3rd party in the country you live. They will not take orders for parts. My X axis stepper belt broke, I have been trying for 5 months to order one. Sales does not want to deal with it and support cannot order parts, so they push the issue to sales, and nothing happens.

NO ONE tells you all this, but as a victim tomorrow I will make a video and let everyone know about the camera alignment problem. DO NOT BUY, just waste your money. the assistance only knows how to repeat the same phrase: Redo the alignment procedure...And this would be a "professional" laser company????!!!! God bless you.
