Common fibular (peroneal) nerve Animation: Course, Branches, Motor and sensory innervation | USMLE
Origin: The Common Fibular Nerve originates from the Sciatic Nerve, with a root value of L4-S2.
Branches:
----------------
The Common Fibular Nerve has several branches, including:
Articular branches
Lateral sural cutaneous nerve
Sural communicating branch
Superficial fibular nerve
Deep fibular nerve
Motor Supply:
---------------------
The Common Fibular Nerve provides motor supply to the following muscles:
Anterior leg muscles, including the tibialis anterior, extensor hallucis longus, and extensor digitorum longus.
Lateral leg muscles, including the fibularis longus and fibularis brevis.
Dorsal foot muscles, including the extensor digitorum brevis and extensor hallucis brevis.
Sensory Supply:
-------------------------
The Common Fibular Nerve provides sensory innervation to:
The skin of the anterolateral leg and the dorsum of the foot.
The skin of the web space between the great and 2nd toes.
The Common Fibular Nerve plays an essential role in leg and foot movements, particularly in controlling the muscles that allow for foot eversion and dorsiflexion. Damage to this nerve can cause foot drop, a condition characterized by the inability to lift the front part of the foot.

Thanks alot Dr. You describe very well.
Just a question.
I have made surgery för 5 weeks in the knee anf the Dr said that they saw peroneal nerv and they did nothing there.
Now after one weeks of release gips ( i got för 4 weeks) and now i get footdropp but i have sensation on my foot and between the big toe and the second toe and the others also but no motorisk.
The Dr said that it needs som time for the peroneal to work again.
What du you think Dr???
The best love you videos 🙌🙌
