So if they are not welded, but just woven together as he said, what keeps them from pulling apart over time?

      Friction ;)

Ever seen ships get tied to a pole? You just wrap around enough times and no knot is needed. (the not wouldnt be strong enough anyway). By trying to pull it apart you increase tension which increases the friction and holds itself even stronger. And the cable is always under tension from the weight of the gondolas and itself. To "pull" it apart you would need to push it first and loosen the tension.

The Gondolas are made in China . China doesn't have a good reputation on safety , or quality . I wouldn't want to ride in one of those cars. Cars have fallen from cables before.

I always chuckle when someone complains about the quality of a Chinese doodad they purchased. At the store, there were 3 doodads. One for 49.99, a second for 24.99 and, a third for 7.99.
They buy the cheap one and complain about it's low quality.??????????

Everything is actually made in Switzerland. I don't where you got that idea.

Yeah, must be bad quality if they fall down when someone cuts the cable. Quality cabines would hover.
