I like these better than the newer ones. They perform so much better and seem to flush better too. I think the only reason they redesigned them was to improve bowl rinse, because they made the siphon jet smaller so more water would flow through the rim, and they also got rid of those large rim jets at the back of the bowl. I had one of these in round bowl from 2006, which I think is the year these first came out. It performed flawlessly, but bowl rinse wasn't the best.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations My dad’s Cadet 3 does have a worse bowl rinse than my mom’s Alto. But my dad’s Cadet 3’s performance is a lot better. 1 clog. The 70s Mansfield downstairs clogged 3-5 times. As long as everything is in the middle of the Trapway opening, It should pass. Because it has a big Trapway.
@@sionspeaks I haven't seen anything bad from either of them except flush valves that close too soon on the Altos and one single Cadet clogged on 35 feet. The new Altos are another story though. They have awful bowl rinse and flushes so weak that you have to hold the handle for them to take anything.
While interesting, flushing wash clothes and dish towels is not very realistic (unless you swallowed them first)! Ha! The dirt test did show where the bowl rinse missed however.

And the only reason why it clogged was because the waste was in the Trapway opening. The Trapway itself is big so that’s why it was so easy to plunge. It also left some leftovers in the bowl.

Yeah, but I have found that a toilet is terrible if it clogs on a washcloth.
Which toilet has better performance? 2006 AS Cadet 3 or 2009 AS Champion 4?
The Champion 4 blows the Cadet 3 out of the water with bulk performance but I think they both suck as toilets.
I have seen a 2006 Cadet 3 round bowl, and the trapway opening was far smaller looking than on that one.
