    I've taken some huge dumps in this toilet (Cadet 3 EL Flowise) and it's NEVER clogged. Not ONCE. Water level got a little higher than normal on some dumps, but it went right down. It amazes me I could clog a 3.5 gal toilet but this thing has no problem.

      I noticed that the guy flushing held on to the flush lever until everything went down so it continues adding water to the tank until he let's go. So boy surprised everything went down. Some will clog cause the the trap isn't big enough.

    That toilet flushes well under a very well vented pipe. However, if installed in a real bathroom, the flush will depend on how well the pipe is vented.

      @lukegray7122 Před 2 lety

      That's actually wrong. All toilet companies are forced to set the fill line on the tank to 1.6 gallons, so holding them uses all the water in the tank, which is 1.6 gallons.

  • @Martindyna

    American Standard appear to produce state of the art siphonic toilets and it's hard to see how they could be better. I have an old (c.1950s) Alfred Johnson single trap siphonic toilet (with the cistern not joined to the toilet bowl) which, would you believe, like other UK siphonic WCs of the time depends on a restriction in the bowl to achieve the siphonic action so of course they are prone to blockage. I must put it on YT one day for all those toilet anoraks out there (me included).

    • @r4ls3i60
      @r4ls3i60 Před 3 lety

      So you use washdown toilets? Washdown toilets are common outside of North America and South America.

    • @Martindyna
      @Martindyna Před 3 lety

      @@r4ls3i60 Unfortunately yes although siphonics were popular until the EU dictated that less water should be used per flush.
      It appears to me that, unlike the US, UK manufacturers made no effort to design a siphonic that used less water and took the easy way out going down the washdown route, never mind that you then have to flush 2 or 3 times to get rid of floating toilet paper / poo etc. If you take a look at my channel you'll see a couple of examples of the two main types of siphonic used in the UK - the single trap and the, technically superior two or double trap.
      The double trap type is less prone to blockage although if a foreign object that floats gets between the 2 traps it's virtually impossible to clear since there is no `inspection hatch' fitted. When I had that trouble I had to resort to caustic soda that eventually cleared the obstruction.

I used one once and it flushed while I was sat on it 😬. In the UK we have toilets with low water. Not kidding about the phobia, when I was younger I was at great ormand street hospital and they where trying to cure me from it by putting stones in the toilet, flushing it and barricading the door so not as to let me out (this was in 1999 so hopefully they don’t treat people with phobias like that now)
