You somewhat mentioned this at the end of the video, but a lot of people won't wathc the whole thing, so:
Some of these cards, if you were to sell them on ebay, you might make 50% more, sure, however, you have to spend the time to find the buyer, ship it, deal with all of that, etc. Even though you feel the offer isn't fair, you're choosing to spend time you could spend on making money rather than spending the money/energy to find a buyer.

Honestly the giratina offer was good I mean they have to make profit too but yeah honestly I think it’s always best to sell online or to an individual collector 👍🏽

Lol yeah the roaring moon was the biggest highway robbery out of the 4. Other ones semi okay ish if you calculate fees etc
They offered you 80% trade on the Giratina, at least be genuine 80% is good.
I think I was pretty genuine the whole time and gave my overall thoughts in the end as well pretty clearly
If you sell on eBay and/or tcgplayer, it's about 17-26% in fees as well. So it sounds like they were doing about 50-60% for store and cash of those cards. Makes sense more or less. Pretty much the same as other LCS and vendors would do too. But yes, sell on eBay instead haha
yeah its kidna just dependent on what is better for you, if you have time to sell on ebay or just get your cards trade in at your gamestop for some cash. But yeah, better to sell on your own lol

can you trade in 3 PSA 9 slabs 1 of charizard, 1 of pikachu and 1 random pokemon that isnt really cared for or isnt in demand. and 3 PSA 10's with the same setting and go back and see what they are trying to sell it at, compared to what they offered you?
This is more like what we all expected. but leaks of the system was showing really good value.
The only card I think wasn't a terrible offer was the Giratina V honestly.. if it averages online $450 lets say and they offered you $324 cash that wasn't too bad. That's still a little over 70% so I will 1000% disagree that the Giratina V was a bad offer 🤔 but I do think it's going to come down to the CARD itself and MOST cards aren't going to be worth trading or selling for cash at GameStop at least. It's going to be those 10 or so cards on the market that are just spiking up and up that they'll maybe offer something worthwhile in the end.
yeah I mean, depending on how they track the market value of cards and offer trades or credit, it could be worthwile. I mean at 360 credit, it wasn't even too bad of an offer if you want to get some sealed product too. So its an option for sure.
They should've offered you at least $30 cash and/or $40 credit for Roaring Moon ex imo.. I'm okay with half if it's cash or upwards of 70-80% in credit.

The offers weren't tooo bad (roaring moon was pretty bad), watching a lot of vendor povs and they offer around 65-75% for cards, so I'd say those offers were around there or maybe even more
Yeah I mean I think in terms of people flipping cards and lcs flipping cards, they offer 65 70 percent comps which I understand. Which is why in the end I said I get it and it depends on what you as a collector are willing to do.

I'd say PSA is the real scam. $25 just to grade a single card? I shouldn't have to be selling the card for $30 just to break even. The main reason I've never looked into selling my rarer cards that i don't really care about (like it is a pokemon i don't care much for or i don't love the art), is because of the insane risk of just getting them rated. I would be willing to pay even $5 per card, but $25, even the $15 for bulk orders is too much. And then if my card is worth more, i have to pay them more or they won't send the card back? The card being higher value doesn't change the work it took to authenticate it. But they could charge me hundreds of dollars to hold hostage my card if they think it is valuable enough? I can't believe people actually give those con artists money.
I sold 5 One Piece Alt psa 10s and they gave me 90% of last sold. Mine and their numbers were VERY close. Idk why nothers are struggling with this

no lcs in the country will give you 80%, good luck finding any at 60%. businesses don't lose money for your convenience my guy.

Yeah the Tina offer wasn't too bad in all honesty but zapdos and roaring moon. It literally costs 20 bucks to grade per card lol
Honest question: Would you have STILL traded them in if their system wasn't down or would you have said "Meh sorry not interested anymore" still informative either way 👍
Also, yikes those offers they gave were ridiculously low. I would've passed either way haha. This is a side thought and is no reflection on your experience or video but, most times when toys, cards, shoes etc. are traded into a shop if they give you decent value I see others complaining about it still which is mind blowing. I'm like "you do realize you are basically asking/forcing them to buy from you" Some people want the exact value as you'd get if you just randomly tried to sell it on eBay or FB Marketplace. Not sure if you've ever seen experiences like that online or in person, but it still baffles me that some will get upset when they only give 50-60% of the card, toys, shoes etc. value. YOU ARE LITERALLY ASKING THEM HEY BUY MY STUFF NOW and they have to make money too. Of course they aren't going to give you what you totally want. Some don't get that even when LGS' or shops are fair.. but like I said GameStop definitely wasn't fair in this case man! OUCH. ☠
I had product in hand that I wanted. I made the decision at the time to trade in just my vaporeon. 160 in credits enough to get a lot of sealed to open haha but when I had it all, they couldnt process it XD all worked out I guess

Honestly don't know. He scanned it, and numbers popped up lol so i don't know what system they use to track the value or trade in value but it was a pretty quick process.
They use the PSA website itself to calculate card prices.

why? why would you expect a business to make a risky move like that? it costs money to implement this system and operate. card prices fluctuate. there are plenty of reasons why their offers were reasonable. trade vs purchase won't change the value thaaaat much.

A lot of those offers were good, any retailer, even eBay is going to take a 25% or so cut. The real problem is PSA is a scam company. $25 per card? $15 per card for bulk? And then if they are worth more, they can somehow up the price to hundreds of dollars to get your card back even though it takes no extra work on their part to authenticate a rarer card? It is literally evil. I have cards I'd be willing to sell, but at those prices and those risks, I can't get them authenticated. I shouldn't have to make $30 on a card just to break even. Card grading should be $5 per card regardless of rarity tops. I wouldn't pay more than that.

Even on this video most comments I'm seeing are saying these are fair prices. I'd say PSA and their insane "authentication" prices and holding higher value cards hostage for hundreds of dollars is the real problem. I would pay $5 per card tops, $25 or $15 for bulk per card under $200 is insane. And then it is somehow legal for them to charge you hundreds of dollars if the think the card is worth a thousand or more despite it taking the same amount of effort to grade as any other card. How is such an insane scam allowed? Why aren't card collectors fighting against it?
Honestly, I trade games with GameStop pretty often and I've always found the prices fair, especially if you do it during trade sales. For example, I got $56 for Mario wonder while a trade sale was going on, they are literally losing money on that one. Just last week I got $10 for injustice 2 (which I originally bought for $17) and $37 for the princess peach showtime game. Overall, I'd say GameStop is very fair, even generous sometimes, with their trade values.

What do you expect man, they are a business… they have to make SOME money and besides the roaring moon those were good prices. Sounds like you expected them to rip themselves off and give you 100% of what the card is
I think I summarized everything in the end in regards to my overall thoughts. But as i stated, completely understand the value of what gamestop is doing by noooo means did I expect 100 percent value in credit or cash as that is nonsense.
I'll give you $20 for that Zapdos... but that also includes shipping LOL. Man it's kind of funny seeing Game Stop being consistent with their shenanigans. Got done like this back in the day with games.

So if people want to sell quick and easy and give up the leg work its gunna come at price and cut to the profits for sure
