What a clean setup, audio and camera looking crispy! The Amex Business Plat with the 1.54 cpp is such a strong use case for those with a ton of points, lots of spend, or where the time spent to find better redemptions makes it not worth it. The Bilt Card.. might finally pull the trigger soon! Either that or if I can get off the waitlist on the Robinhood Gold. Also congrats again to you and Jackie!

I like the setup with the Schwab debit card. It’s a smart play for atm access since they cover atm fees. That’s really useful if you need to withdraw cash, especially abroad. I’ve been meaning to open that account and this is a good reminder!

I currently am working toward a slightly different set up on my cards for the remainder of the year. I am currently carrying a Chase Freedom Unlimited, Prime Visa, a Quicksilver from C1 (soon to be replaced with a Sapphire Preferred), my Credit Union card (which I will also potentially be putting on a back burner for a Freedom Flex after a couple inquires fall off later this year). Great video as always! I am also interested in hearing your thoughts on combined finances as me and my fiancé are also in a similar boat as you and Jackie!

I would love to see your timeline of your credit cards. I know you’ve done videos going over all of them already but I’d love to see you go through and to your best ability give the dates you opened all your accounts! I’ve opened 2 cards in 2024 (BILT and Savor One) and I feel like opening more, but I do not want to hurt my credit. If I had an outline to follow I think that would be pretty nice. Also, I know you’ve broken down your spreadsheet as far as where all your money goes, but I’d love a more detailed video specifically talking about what to do with your spare money every month. Your HSA’s, CD’s, HYS’s, investments, etc., I’m 22 and am not trying to go as hard in the card game as you do, but I love using you for guidance
I can definitely make more content about all of that! Yeah I think a video with my exact timeline of getting cards could be useful as an example of what worked for me, but there's no single perfect timeline either. I also want to make a video about everything I do with every dollar that I earn each month and what accounts those go in, so stay tuned

Its great to plan a new card with high spend for SUB with personal or business plans. I had several large spends: tires/car maintenance fridge for the big papa's man cave, and lawn equip for the new crib. Will meet the $8K spend in for plat within the first month.
Agreed! Any time that I know I've got a lot of spending coming up that I have to do anyway, then I try to get a new credit card SUB to get something valuable back in return from all that spending 👍
Chase Freedom Flex categories are one of the better ones in a long time--I know you're a longtime advocate for the card and Q2 2024 is a good quarter to use the CFF!

Hey thanks for subscribing! So I’m really interested in that new Robinhood card and how it fits into the overall credit card world. Normally my videos have a longer turnaround time because of my editing team, but I think I might try to film something next week. If not then definitely will be covering it in a future video as the card rolls out 👍
3% cash back is really tough to beat for miscellaneous spending

My Wife & I were married last August and have been putting off combining finances. Our incomes vary quite a bit but we both want to combine in a way where we can cover our reoccurring expenses and understand where the rest of our money is going. I'd like to see how you are doing this along with high-level credit card strategies so I can show her how powerful credit cards are if used correctly. (We're flying Turkish business to Naples for 90k miles + tax in August, so she kind of understands lol)
Currently in my Apple Magsafe wallet is the CSP (working on welcome bonus), AmEx Gold and the AmEx BPP for business spend. After I reach the welcome bonus for the CSP, I will be applying for the AmEx Platinum and replacing the CSP in my wallet.

Question, do you get a large preponderance of your points from your spending or from points you receive from referrals (people using your links).
I’m a frugal person and it seems as though it takes a while to build up our points.
Thanks so much Chris! So that’s a great question and something that I’m actually touching on in my next video. I do have the ability to get more referrals than the average person because of my channel - but I’m capped at the same number of yearly referrals as everyone else. Most of my links are affiliate links that pay cash commissions, as disclosed in my video descriptions
But in doing the math for my most recent video, Jackie and I have been able to earn well over 1 million+ points over the past few years without even counting these referrals. So I’m excited for this next video to talk about all the tips I have for that!

Thanks Ronak! I do product change old cards from time to time depending on my strategy. I'm open to closing cards and will likely close my Amex Business Gold later this year because of change that it made. But generally I have not had to close cards yet, although I will if changes are made that no longer make the card worth it to me

I have the regular c1 venture but was interested in going for the venture x, and because I wasn’t really thrilled with the product change offers I was receiving I am open to closing it. Haven’t had the card for 2 full years so my belief was that it wouldn’t hurt me since I don’t have much history in it.

If I currently have the Citi Custom Cash, which gives 5% cash back on your top eligible spend category, and also have the Capital One Venture X which gives 2X Miles on all purchases... Should I use the Citi card exclusively for one category (like dinning), or should I always use the Venture X for all my purchases?

what makes bilt a better card to pay your rent with compared to a chase card where instead of getting 1 point per dollar with Bilt you would get 1.5 with chase?
If you want to use a transfer partner like American or United, do you need a credit card from them to transfer to or just an account to transfer to?
You will need a card that earns flexible bank points from Chase, Amex, Capital One, etc. Then you can actually transfer to other programs in the same alliance to book United or American - I explained more in this video here: czcams.com/video/uIY268QxEGE/video.html

Do you have a video about how to downgrade the CS card? Would they reimburse some anuall fee? I just got a Venture X card and I don't really need 2 Lounge access 😅
I don't have a video walking through it step by step, but it's actually pretty easy! Just call the number on the back of your card and ask about product changing - they'll transfer you to the right people. Then choose what card to downgrade to - personally I went with the OG Freedom card so that I could confirm that it was still a downgrade option, and it was!
And yes, the annual fee was partially refunded to me based on the amount of time that had passed since my annual fee was posted. So I got about $60 back which I actually wasn't expecting! Super easy process 👍

Going to be re-applying for the Sapphire Reserve in the coming months! Hopefully will apply if they ever decide to increase the sign up bonus at some point this year. How do I get the 190,000 points for the Amex
With the new court ruling on visa/mc and swipe fees changing do you all think the game is gonna change a lot ?
Not really - the changes are gonna take time to occur and many merchants already have surcharges for accepting debit or cash instead of credit cards. I'll continue to follow as time goes on, but will be interesting to see
In the last 12 hours I’ve done lots of research. It looks like they have left enough margins to support current reward on standard cards. I’m not sure the premium cards with high returns are gonna last cause the ruling allows vendors to exclude them now. Redstone may have problems with their 5% too lol
Is it worth it to change my freedom unlimited to just a Freedom to try and reapply for a freedom unlimited for SUB? Im very new to this game and I think I want to try to get mostly chase cards
Personally I would say that it's not worth the hassle to cycle through SUBs with Chase Freedom cards because the bonuses are good, but that effort and spend can be a lot more effective towards the SUBs on other cards with higher offers

Yeah that’s a huge offer for anyone that’s targeted for it! Unfortunately I needed to make my business purchases quickly, so I tried to find that offer and the highest that I got targeted for was 190K - so I’m still happy with that 👍

Yeah I didn't get that one personally and wasn't going to wait for it because I needed the upgrade of my studio with my move. I'm still really happy with the 190K offer though!
