  • In this episode we travel to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon.
đŸžïžCrater Lake is a stunning lake located in Crater Lake National Park, Oregon. It is the deepest lake in the United States, with a maximum depth of 1,943 feet (592 meters). The lake was formed about 7,700 years ago when a large volcano, Mount Mazama, collapsed following a violent eruption.
Crater Lake is known for its deep blue water, which is caused by the lack of plankton in the lake. The water is so pure that it is considered to be some of the most pristine in the world. The lake is surrounded by cliffs that rise up to 2,000 feet (610 meters) from the water's surface.
â›șWhile in the area, we stayed in Crater Lake RV Park about a 1 hr drive from the park.

I slept in the back of my 1973 Ford F-250 in that parking lot way back in about 1987!

I love following your adventures! I’ve watched a lot of your Alaska trips and this one was just as amazing. I’ve never considered crater lake as a destination, but now it’s likely on the list. Keep up the great videos!!

Unbelievable how the weather broke for you two just perfectly! That is some of the best scenery that I've seen in all of your videos.
Did you have a sense for how deep the snow was in the areas where you were snow-shoeing?

We wish we had a better way to describe just how quickly the weather changed. It was unreal!
With snow all around it was difficult to really tell how much we were snowshoeing on, but we felt like it was a lot!
