Carbon monoxide poisoning kills woman, child trying to keep warm in home garage

- A tragic story is developing out of southwest Houston early Tuesday where two people died and two others were hospitalized in a case of carbon monoxide poisoning.

I’m really saddened for this family I’m pretty sure she just didn’t know any better and Houston is not used to having freezing cold temps like this. My condolences and prayers with the family.

go to the hardware store and get some duct piping and simply ryuun it outside
No that's not good even if you put duct tape on a pipe and run the films outside because the car can have a exhaust leak you won't smell it it's odorless and it can kill you, the best thing to do is leave a Wonder crack and get out of the garage
Dont do it put blankets or something under your doors
@Steph Xo I don’t get it I always warm and start my car in the garage with the garage being closed nothing has happened to me I never seen anyone running their car outside of the garage

For $2,000 buck you could get a portable generator installed by a electrion where you have it on a cart move into the back yard and just it run the furnace and refregerator.
Its almost as if many people do not have 2 grand to spend on a generator 🤔

Do you believe this government created the weather? Did they just make it cold to see how many people didn't know what carbon monoxide is? How deep does it go brother?
@@bubbafug00gle51 Think about not just this but the increase of the electricity and natural gas bills that many many more people won't be able to afford. Last I heard it was $4/kw. But I won't excuse the stupidity of people who run their car in their garages without ventilation, that's really dumb LoL
@@jeffc7486 Thanks for replying, but I still can't see which government benefits from this. In my limited understanding of the Texas power industry if anyone benefits it will be fossil fuel providers. Not that it's a conspiracy, it just shows that in their current marketplace the renewables don't seem to have the "bandwidth" to meet an extreme emergency. And if any ant-fossil advocates feel the need to respond, don't bother I'm not pro-fossil, just stating how things appear given the current (no pun intended) situation.
@@bubbafug00gle51 wind is generating more power than expected for this period. Probably more blame should be put on Texas's deregulated energy system, ERCOT, which didn't invest enough in preparing for the storm. Texas is a land of oil, this is NOT a fuel shortage. But their equipment, power lines etc. was not ready for such low temps and snowfall. Don't blame fuel, renewable or fossil, blame the grid.
@@thl205 Well, a lot of the wind turbines are failing because they froze. Didn't say it was a fuel shortage, from what I have seen it's a fossil plant shortage. The problem with wind (other than freezing which was not accounted for because it's Texas ffs... hard to blame them) is you can't ramp it up or lower the throttle as need dictates. That's not to say that I disagree with the root of the problem being their energy marketplace in Texas. Just have to hope for the sake of Texans that the state learns a lesson.
