From time to time I use such melodies to increase my hearing acuity, to check if I play music “in tune”, and to make my fingers more mobile. For these purposes, I like to play bossa nova more than other styles of music. Because I don’t really like to play different exercises. Instead, I play melodies that I consider to be exercises. You can try to do the same. This is such a famous melody, but beautifully playing it is quite difficult. It is full of chromatisms and key changes and has many uncomfortable notes. It is written in not so wide range, but requires very soft playing.
