  • Hey guys today I thought it was a perfect opportunity to make this video since I’m swapping rims and many of you needed help getting the sprockets lined up. Hope this video was useful and I appreciate you all for watching

So I went out for a hunt for a new RIM today to no avail. Of course the actual expensive shop requires the old rim in order to find me the correct rim, I told my need a 26 inch rim. But because they don't come with the pedal sprockets he can't make a determination as to what rim to sell me. So I said forget I'll get one of the guys in the streets to grab me a rim with the pedal sprockets already on it then I only have to pay like 15 to $20 for it😂 I figured it'll probably take these boys a couple of days to find me something therefore I figured in the meantime I'd pull the rim that's on the bike and just try to true the sprocket that's on that one to the best of my ability. After pulling the rim and spinning it even with one Broken Spoke it doesn't seem to be too out of whack. So I can confirm the pretty much all my issues of the derailing are coming from the sprocket not mounted correctly. Thanks to you I know that little trick with the marker that will come in handy because that is my issue. So I plan to simply adjust the sprocket as true as I can and hopefully that'll work for a couple of days until I can get my new rim. I figure I could probably carefully adjust all the spokes except for the one broken one and that should help too. It's not ideal but it should get me through 2 days without not being able to drive my bike. If anyone's interested in seeing my bike I do have a couple of videos up on my channel

Thank you for the video considering I have to redo mine tomorrow this video is very helpful. I do only have the cheap Chinese Hardware so I'm a little concerned about using the impact drill but I can put it on the lowest setting and work my way up. Last time just by hand I had them strip. however I did go as tight as they could go and I don't think you're supposed to do that. Right? And what you're displaying right here is exactly my current issue. My sprocket is centered perfectly but it's not true. And obviously I can see is quite a process and quite a bit of checking, marking, checking, tightening, loosening, etc. In order to get it perfect. I suppose all that effort in time is worth it in the end when you don't have to worry about your chain derailing and everything is in line. I do have one issue though. I don't have a vice. maybe I can just use two blocks of wood or something on a level surface?

In your video description, it my be helpful to some to tell what make and type of camera you are using to film with. Also any microphones, or whatever. Also, maybe links to the products your are buying or adequate description that someone could use to find it like Amazon, US, or where ever. Also, what editing software, or whatever you might suggest. Just a suggestion.

Yeah I didn’t realize anybody actually looked at that lol but I use a iPhone 11 to turn and it’s very clear works great and I edit with CapCut

Use a back end of a wrench to pull the rubber off the rim
