    Thank you for your video....I definitely have PTTD and its been going untreated because I didn't know but now I cannot even lift it off the ground when on one foot and very painful inversion. I am going to rehab it but can you recommend the best ankle wrap/cast? There are soooo many, thanks!

      Look for my PTTD video and check the description. There are a few recommendations in there.

    Great video, are you suggesting to do all these exercises back to back and to do them every day or every other day?

      Hi. It’s difficult to be too prescriptive with tendon exercises as every tendon problem will be different in terms of severity and where is it on the scale of recovery. As a rule I would suggest picking 3 of these exercises that you can do with minimal pain and aim to do them for about 5 days per week. You might need adjust these quantities to suit your individual symptoms. It can be a bit of trial and error. Adjust the days exercises depending on how the day before went. Too sore … back off. No pain … progress slowly. Good luck 🤞

    Would you recommend the same exercises for post PTTD surgery (tendon repair and heel osteotomy)?

    • @PhysioMSK
      @PhysioMSK  Před měsícem

      Possibly. Be guided by what the surgeon says if the surgery was recent. If it was a while ago then yes they should be fine.

      Look at my other video about this condition here czcams.com/video/vfQeWoCP1oc/video.htmlsi=wAHY__18JpHqhsdP
      You may want to consider insoles or even resting it completely in an immobilisation boot if you can’t do any exercise without pain.

    I dont feel pain, and I'm unsure as to whether I'm working my posterior tibialis in any of these exercises based on the fact that I feel no strain or tension within the muscle. How do I know if I'm targetting the correct muscle with any of these exercises?

    • @PhysioMSK

    Is feeling pain or small irritation normal after doing these exercises? How about during? Is ice or heat better for dealing with the irritation and inflammation?

    • @PhysioMSK
      @PhysioMSK  Před rokem

      Hi. Yes a small amount of pain is fine both during and after exercise as long as it settles down quickly (within an hour) and is generally mild. If it feels inflamed or swollen then use Ice and anti inflammatory gel. Don’t use heat - which is better for general muscle pain without any inflammation.
      If it doesn’t settle then it might be best to rest it for a few weeks and stop the exercises. Managing PTTD (and indeed most tendon pains) is always a balancing act between not doing enough and doing too much. The best advice is to listen to your body and adjust the exercises as needed using small changes.
      Good luck with it & best wishes
      Stephen.

      Good luck with it. If it doesn’t improve with the orthotic, get an x-Ray and ultrasound scan OR an MRI.

    3 months is a long time. So no type of training at all?

    • @PhysioMSK
      @PhysioMSK  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Not if it’s really painful. By all means try but if you exercise through high levels of pain you will just end up prolonging the condition. I know it’s frustrating but let the pain guide you.
