As soon as the paint was removed, I was waiting for you to say “and as you can see, there’s a lot of oxidation on the body of this car.” I think I’ve been watching these videos too much
We homeschool our 10-year-old son, and your program has become our favorite lunchtime diversion! Thanks for having such a wonderful, family-friendly program!
I'm not sure if you realize just how many people look up to you for tips, advice, and inspiration. Many of us have watched your entire compilation of videos several times over, absorbing every line, every word as we strive to expand our library of knowledge and improve our skills. You've come a long way, and we thank you for sticking with it for so long.
Love the redline wheel carousel and really enjoyed this restoration. I find the restorations very satisfying to watch. You always do so much, but never =too= much. Nice work as always and thanks for sharing this.
100% better than what you started with! Awesome work man, I really enjoy your videos and actually prefer your channel over anyone else's. Love these old redlines, keep the vids coming!
I was so excited when I saw the thumbnail for this video because this is one of my favourite cars! I found one of these many years ago in a Salvation army store but the hood was missing. Even with that problem I've hung on to it because it's kind of cool just being able to see the engine. Thanks for your great videos.
I will say it again. There are artisans all over youtube but you are a true master at your craft. As an adult that grew up with Hot Wheels I am very impressed at how you can save these cars. Great job.
Classy finish with the orange again Sir and thank you for an effortless restore that yields your usual wonderful lustrous result. A nice add to your orange sweet 16...it will be great to eventually see your complete orange sw 16 Thank you again for the tips and I can't wait to see the new zinc plating process
That Paintjob and restoration is sexy, and fresh as always. Always love your restorations, as you explain your step by step process in doing so. I find it satisfactory to see old HW being revamped into it's original or newer glory. Keep up the good work bro!
My 68 tbird came factory with the vinyl top. You did it right by not painting the front pillars as they never had vinyl on them. I restored a few dozen of my old matchbox cars as well as painted and detailed the interiors and engines of they came with an open hood. I used them for my xmas town model. I can send some pictures so you can see the absolute detail on the cars and town.
Would love to see a video showing off your collection of restored cars as of 2019! Love your work, keep gifting us with more of your restorations and techniques c:
After seeing the bare body I had pretty low expectations - once again, you made it into something amazing. About to attempt my own restoration based on this channel - thanks for the inspiration!
Have you tried dipping the windshield pieces in Future Floor Wax (aka Pledge with Future Shine) after you clean and polish? You just need to pour some in a small container, dip the part totally, then pull it out, letting it rest to dry on a paper towel. If you mess up, it comes off with ammonia. It really helps hide blemishes in the clear plastic. Airplane modelers do this. Glad I stumbled on your stuff - nice work!
Word, a new video. The car turned out great, like always. I love that spectra flame orange, it looks awesome on the car. Can't wait to see the video on zinc plating and the final product. Keep up the awesome work!!
that rotating stand is awesome! Also, I havent had very good luck with frog tape. Seems like no matter what it still bleeds. I use 3M automotive paint tape from Napa or any auto parts store. Even comes in different widths, i think from half into the 3 inches
Use 3M tape. Green or yellow are the best. When you remove the tape, pull it back against itself slowly instead of pulling it off at a 90 degree angle. This helps tremendously in preventing the paint from peeling off. Pulling it off right after the final coat also helps from getting a sharp edge, as it allows the paint to slightly roll past the tape line. I do this all the time when I two-tone cars in my body shop... Great video again!
Wow! When you first mentioned orange, I thought like my teenage daughter and mentally went “eew!” However, once complete, in orange, that T-bird was sharp! I was somewhat confused with your discussion on wheels (original versus reproductions), as I thought they were all “reproductions”.....so I will do some research. Anyway, once again, even with the metal discoloration that you pointed out, I found it yet another beautifully-completed model!
That orange turned out really nice on the trunk! For the vinyl roof you should use a semigloss black instead, the black you used would look great on a realistic custom car but since yours in good old Hot Wheels it will look better with the same/similar semigloss black that was previously on it.
Amazing how that roof turned out. You mentioned your goal of doing a sweet 16 set in orange--hope that's something you do a video on. Would love to see that.
Zinc plating? I'll recommend going the acidic pathway. Anhydrous zinc chloride, boric acid and potassium chloride maybe. Or you go the alkaline route which works way better but involves creating zinc-cyanide complexes. I personally wouldn't go that route, i'm a chemist myself and i wouldn't deal with cyanide in a non-lab environment. P.S. i'm lucky being born with the ability to smell hydrogen cyanide, so i wouldn't need a detector :)
Great job and very informative as always. Thank you. Please consider doing something with the 66 Batmobile. I would like to see you customize it with opening hood, trunk and doors. Make it more accurate to the original or add lights.
I actually sent Him a pair of these Redline Hot Wheel Single Car Display's, the Lower Desk Stand (Lazy Susan) and a Standing Display. Since he liked both ive decided to list them on eBay. they are 3D Printed in 3 Colors and assembled.
Sean's Custom Hot Wheels , on eBay if you search Single Car Redline Display they will come up. If I posted a link it would only last the duration of the listing.
Man I always love it when a new video pops up from you, I really enjoy you videos. I wish you put more videos out but I understand how much work and time goes into each video quality over quantity. Keep up the great work!!!
It’s so cool that you are soon going to be able to zinc plate your cars! They will really be next level! Are you going to redo your previously painted cars that needed it?

Wow thanks!!!
Every time I watch these, it makes me want to get out my old hot wheels &© matchbox cars, and try to restore them. Great work, as always
I don't typically comment, but this restoration was really cool! That top over the pitted paint looked great! Well done!
Love the redline wheel carousel and really enjoyed this restoration. I find the restorations very satisfying to watch. You always do so much, but never =too= much. Nice work as always and thanks for sharing this.
Love it! Looks so good. My favorite quote...."...but I was busy."
I find your videos relaxing and informative.
Me too, I almost fell asleep after watching the restoration, it's very satisfying too.

Oh, man, you don't know how excited I am to see a new video. I bet I've watched all your restoration videos five or six times during the last week.
PacMan Dreaming I find his videos relaxing too, and I have watched them a couple of times

that rotating stand is awesome! Also, I havent had very good luck with frog tape. Seems like no matter what it still bleeds. I use 3M automotive paint tape from Napa or any auto parts store. Even comes in different widths, i think from half into the 3 inches
That black paint covered the imperfections very well
Love the 3D printed rotator stand at the end.
That orange color definitely came out great
It turned out beautiful 👏
Love that orange colour, really suits this model, nice job 👍
i never get tired of your videos. A+. Big fan here!!!

Definitely enjoyed this video! T-Bird came out great!
That looks absolutely amazing.
Loving the matte finish roof...nice contrast to the car

Done. And i saw your video on ABS de-yellowing :)
Cool
Considering what you had to work with, you did a good job.
as always awesome results
A tape tip is to put the tape on your shirt so it won’t stick so much and not leave any residue.
Great job and very informative as always. Thank you.

I like your new lazy susan!
Whats a lazy susan?..its this some kinda slang term?
Its the rotating table that he displays them on, Any table that has a turn table on it is called a lazy susan. Many out door settings have them.
I actually sent Him a pair of these Redline Hot Wheel Single Car Display's, the Lower Desk Stand (Lazy Susan) and a Standing Display. Since he liked both ive decided to list them on eBay. they are 3D Printed in 3 Colors and assembled.
