- How do you get from Tokyo Station to Akihabara? I was asked this in a message and I thought I'd simply show you! Let's go via Japan Rail on the Yamanote Line which circles Tokyo. It takes only 5 minutes and trains depart every 3 minutes.
Walking take about 30 minutes.
By subway there is the Marunouchi Line which requires a transfer to the Hibiya Line.
You can use nearby stations like Nihonbashi, Otemachi, Yurakucho by Tokyo Station. Near Akihabara Station is Iwamotocho which is on the TOEI Shinjuku Line and is only a 3 min walk to Akihabara Station. - Zábava
I really love Akihabara, Tokyo so much.😇👼🙏👍💕💕💕💕💕✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️🌈💫💫💫💫💫🇯🇵🗾🗼
Hello again John and Kanae, this is Mathew, thank you for letting me say hello in Akihabara station, it was a massive moment for me as its been on my list of things i wanted to do since getting here
The Gentleman Gaijin in Japan hi Mathew! Thank YOU for coming to say hi 👋 sorry it was in the show live and not more “informal” 😂 but still very great to meet you (and everyone else watching!)
The long shots of Kanai were a lovely treat. I really enjoyed the purchase of the doughnuts.
9:21 so nostalgic! Everyone that's lived in Japan misses these train melodies. 懐かしいね
I’ve only visited japan but those train melodies really hit my nostalgia! Especially Kanda’s
Wow, I was around there at almost the same time yesterday! Cheers! I mean Marunouchi!
The Akihabara station jingle is lit!
I hope I can go back to Japan and especially Tokyo soon. My life just feels...complete whenever I'm in Akihabara. Everything I want for my hobbies, all in one place...And I especially miss the JR trains and their unique jingles.
nice I also not sure of how to go from haneda to akihabara?
@@valentinalim3664 Haneda? Oh that's easier than getting to there from Narita. Normally, I've taken either the subway system or the Airport Limousine Bus, but there's also a monorail system connecting to other stations.
Thank you for posting these they are lovely to watch. Good view and well done. Kanae is also absolutely stunning. I love Japan. Thank you!~
What a great unplanned live streaming meetup, John!
Station + Night + Kanae + Food = The best of all worlds!!! Thanks for the excellent atmospheric video :)
My husband and I walked past you when you were looking at the donuts. We walked to Akihabara from Ginza 😀
The Yamanote line, so many memories.... I have some of these station jingles as my ringtone !!!
John great video, I like so much your style...I hope to know you soon!!!! go head!!! Fantastico!
Thank you for another great livestream, John. We all love seeing you and Kanae together.
It's always so touching seeing your live stream, giving me so much vibes and missing the days me and wife spent in Shinjuku and Yamanote line, so typical Japan old model trains.
You both look so happy! God bless you both! My daughter and I watch your videos every day and we love them!!! Keep up the good work! We want more!!! We wish God allows us to one day go to Japan! Arigato, gozaimas!!! Sayonara!
Yeh love the omega count down clock!!!!! 👌
If the wife's sick your bound to get it John unfortunately!!! 😞
Always good to see you guys together in vids!!
Thanks! great video!! Akihabara is a must visiting Tokyo...
Thank you, John and Kanae! Was an pleasure meeting you in Akihabara today! You guys are very nice. Take care.
Hi John and Kanae.Thank you for this awesome live stream. I love Tokyo station ,especially the Marunouchi side and I love the Yamamote line( I love all the Trains subways and Tokyo transportation ..probably one of the in the world). The Jingle of the different stations are beautiful. And as a great fan, lover of Anime, Manga and electronics i love even Akihabara. Btw You are a celebrity ,a Star....You have a lot of fun in Tokyo, from all over the world 😁😀. As usual great live stream John. Thank you and Greetings from Italy
Thank you for this fun livestream John.. Akihabara looks like a fun place to hang-out especially on weekend nights.
I love Japan the marvellous and the best country in the world I think
The episode you did with Scotty from Strange Parts put Akihabara on my list of places to see on our trip - I found shops full of electronic parts, vacuum tubes, and classic audio equipment.
This video was a great chance to see all the highlights again.
I'm watching you on playback and you're killing me with those donuts!! I will be visiting Japan for the first time at the end of April and those donuts are now on my ever growing list of things I must do! Your videos have been invaluable to me and I thank you so much for making them. I hope to catch up to you during my wanderings come April! If you hear a crazy American yell out your name, it will be me. :)
I've been un Akihabara so many times in my four trips, yet it felt like home since the first moment. The first time I change lines there from Hamanatsucho to Inage and then after having my first meal in Japan witb a fruend and his girlfriend, I made Akiba my first exploration ground. So many memories
The Keihin-Tōhoku line runs alongside the Yamanote Line from Shinagawa to Tabata!
Nice send off capture of a limited express train on the Sobu Line!
I was just in aki in August and always wanted to stop at that donut place. Now I REALLY want to.
My sister and her family are now living in Japan and can't wait to visit them soon. :)
I am amazed at how many of your viewers showed-up in this livestream. Anyway, it was great to see you and Kanae out and about.
My wife and I were there two weeks ago. For me it's the best entertainment center and best of all it's FREE it beats Disney Land! Best of all you brought Kanae (sp). along to dress the video up. Great video, thank you John.
What an awesome video. I will go when this Covid farce is over.
my mom loves jack in the box pumpkin spice shakes in the fall..
Hi Kanae! I hope you both get well soon. Love this chanel!
Patricia Green thank you Patricia!
Yes, the Tokyo station area looking quite pretty now. It took so many years to improve the surrounding environment! (inside and outside) Oh! Ready for 2020 summer game. :) Last time inside was totally blocked and hard to walking around. Yeah, now inside well organized.
Traveling to Japan in January and trying to figure out how to take the train. Tokyo to Akihabara. Gonna see if I can do the research for the group for our one off day for our tour.
*sings* Meeeeeeeeeeeemories.... something, something, in my miiiiiiiiiind. / Ahh, I miss Akiba so much! I gotta come back. Thanks John and Kanae!
Awesome video!
Akihabara is one of my favourite spots. Can't wait to visit one day 😆
Btw, enjoy your dinner both of you with お父さん. Hope he liked the 🍩 xD
Sudaru We are eating Yakitori!! Thanks :)
@@onlyinjapanGO yummy 😋 enjoy~
She's so lovely 😊
Awesome! I miss Akihabara :(
Tokyo night time vibes!
Your Vedio's are very good. And I'm always Subscriber for your channel. I'm in India
I’ve never been to Japan, I want to go really bad and these videos are always awesome, the trains still confuse me so I definitely need to get familiar with that before I go!
Remember 女 for wemon 男 for man. They don't use stick figures for the restrooms.
Missed you guys by 2 mins was there when the display for the Olympics showed 271 days 2hr 32 Mon. Well maybe next trip to Japan, definitely visiting again.
Nope no Galaxy Donuts in Hollywood
Hi Kanai, John great coverage vids
9:51 I thought this part was so cool. It look like John was using special effects, LIVE, but he was just using the power of light and reflections to get this awesome scene. It almost looks like a ghost train.
Hello from Australia too
Well, this Only In Japan *Go livestream had the most viewers who found you on the streets of Tokyo. How fun!
Wellcome tokyo!!
akihabara!!
The Hibiya line exits out to Yodobashi Akiba (and the Yamanote line).
I also recommend Pasela/ PARMS. That’s where Kamen Joshi (仮面女子) performs. There’s also a Honey Toast Cafe on the 1st floor.
@25:40 the legendary 1 pixel video. Still updating the color but only 1 pixel for the whole screen.
Ill be there in two weeks
I was really surprised how knee friend Tokyo can be, I just had to find the escalators and elevators there’s always one around.
I loved the open plaza next to Tokyo Station. It gives you some breathing space before peak time Yamanote line destroys you 😜
Coming to Tokyo in June with my kids, will be heading to get those donuts after we dump our bags in the hotel. Can't wait!!!
They’ve been there for a couple of years so will still be there in June for sure!
@@onlyinjapanGO love your videos. I have same passion for food 😂
Yes we still have jack in the box on the left coast.
yes we still have jack in the box.
Beard Papa's is expanding into the US now. Their cream puffs are amazing!
They HAVE TO because they’ve too much competition here. Many shops have awesome shu cream puffs :) I’m EXPANDING TOO from eating so many of them! Hahaha 😂
If I visit japan, I hope to run into you guys!
Kombanwa :) I now live in Australia and I miss the times that I lived in Japan, so many memories. Sugoi daisuki :)
The tunes it plays sounds like a ice cream truck music ..
The longhorn hand gesture is the rock on gesture used by musicians.
get it john
Hey john, is kanae taking over the channel? Because I'm going to double subscribe and keep my notifications double on, it was great to hear her🤩😄🤩😯😍😯♥️♥️
I wish .i joined you in the livestream chat room, i'm very impressed with Kanae's english very impressive.
i have a story about the dome structures in these grand cathedral places. Get well soon John.
Me too! She’s building confidence and I don’t have to save her anymore :)
I got laugh when the stream was zooming like "Ant-man" unaccidentally 😂
John: I can’t wait for Olympics
Covid 19 enters the chat.
Good idea if you can do live-stream meetups more often, John
I’m from Singapore too!
Hey to you both, from jas and shell in New Zealand
All stations have a unique song? That would make it convenient for those with vision issues.
john show us next time the love satue (愛の像) at the tokyo station and tell us a little bit about the story behind it...thanks!!!
Still have in Tucson
Hello! I know that the Tokyo Station is divided into several levels. But I heard you say in the video that you can see the passage way to the Yaesu side, "so you can go underground or overground." I'm on the Yaesu side, does it matter what side you're on to get to the Yamanote Line? I wish I was closer to the front of the station. I'm going there today and not sure how to get around from the Yaesu side to the JR trains.
The local lady at the 8:00 mark had a look on her face upon seeing John filming like "Ohhh please these tourists..." :)
Can you buy electronic appliances in Akihabara and you can use them in the U.S.?
show us the haloween atmosphere in Shibuya John!
Ever thought of going or been to Square-Enix Cafe on the street level of Yodabashi right behind you ? I've checked for merch there one time.
Hahaha I walked right next to you by the doughnuts and didn't even notice you hahaha I had the cammo jacket on.
@13:25 ... you're 100% correct !!!
that is the *"Go Longhorns"* hand gesture, used at the University of Texas, at Austin.
although, more accurately, we'd say *“Hook ’em Horns!!!”*
w/c brings me to my question ...
you're a New York guy, & most of your life you've either been traveling or in Japan, so how do you know about *\m/. .\m/* ???
just curious, especially since i graduated from UT & live in Austin.
*_note for the curious:_*_ there are other meanings as well, like _*_"Rock On!"_*_ or even _*_"I Love You"_*_ (in sign language, if you're thumb is sticking out)._
Shoutout from Columbus, Ohio! Where are you from in the States? I thought I remember you mentioning something about Ohio State one time?
Hi Kanae and John, I think, other than in a park, this is the first time I see benches to sit. I have noticed that in the street food streets, there is a lack of places to sit and enjoy. My impression is that there's no garbage nor places to sit. Am I missing something or do Japanese never sit? Good etiquette says we should not walk and eat or drink, but there doesn't seem to be places to do so. :-(
Yes Kanae, please join more. Tokyo is so beautiful at night. $10 for some cake?!!!! Run for the Hills...
I've NEVER EVER been on any Yamanote train car that was that empty. I usually equate Yamanote train with sardine time
Yea trick is to have one then walk around for another hour or so to burn it off. Thats one of the things we often fail to do in North America.
That doll looks like Mr. Nohara, Shin-Chan's father ahahaa
it is
Im surprised you have the icoca instead of the suica. 😁 I was told icoca isnt as convenient as suica when in tokyo, how true is this?
Mela Balcita 100% not true. It’s the same and Suica :)
Kanae is always fashionably dress!
Hamster vs. Trex bites , almost the same size .... haha
Front of the train for the win.
This was the one where the livestream turned into a meet up! I lost count! LOL
Best advice for someone never been to Tokyo? Yes! 2020 Olympics games.
Morris Day don’t OVERPLAN your trip. Spend a day just walking the streets :)
@@onlyinjapanGO that's actually amazing advice. I overplanned for my honeymoon last October (I was worried about missing stuff). It felt like we didn't have time to relax.
Still enjoyed it though.
@@onlyinjapanGO thank you!
Your the best! Love the channel!
John and Kanae you should each try 4 golden kiwis a day .This will reduce cold symptoms to 2 days and clear your throat issues up overnight.
how do i follow you live?
Dunkin Donuts in OME station use to be the rage in the 80’s
48:35 lol John serpentined his way thru there
John, aren't you handing out "You Found Me" cards anymore??. Unless this was before you starting doing that. Always nice to see Kanae. Take care from Bethlehem Pa.
Slowly Kanae is going to take over your channel
Hallo, may i know the phone did you use for vloging?
iPhone 11 pro
Wow, no wonder.... 👍👍
