The pianist is Igor Krutoy who composed this for Dimash. He is a Ukranian/Russian billionaire composer, music producer who has written several songs for the unique voice of Dimash, He knows he can choose more or less ANY notes on the piano and Dimash can sing them. What joy for a composer, not to be limited. Try Olympico/Ogni Pietra next please, from Igor’s own channel as it is a wonderful epic performance. It was written for Dimash to sing at the European Games but Dimash sings it at all his concerts. It is in Italian and the words say that the world needs you and you must go forward as much as you can, very motivational.

The Kobys was a sacred instrument in Kazak history with it's own legends. The Kobys is considered the oldest string instrument on the planet with some Turkic and Mongolian instruments coming in a close second.
Anytime you see Igor Krutoy on the piano, you can be sure that he composed the song. In this case Dimash and Igor worked together on it and Dimash asked an Americain to write the lyrics with his feedback.

Everyone has their own interpretation of the song but I believe the cental section without lyrics is a vocal taprestry representing foreign men, women and the high pitch squeals of children. Perhaps refugee families?

At the piano Igor Krutoy (Krutoy means 'Cool', *1954 in Ukraine SSR). He lives and works in Moscow/ Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family is in the US now. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship.
Dimash said also in an interview about the collaboration with Igor Krutoy that it is important to him that the songs are written in such a way that there is room for variations ... so every performance of a song is a surprise and every Dear can choose his favorite presentation... I can not decide.
The lyrics were written by Mary Sharon Vaughn (*1947, American musician, songwriter and producer. She writes hits for famous singers around the world, including Lara Fabian)

In the vocalize section did you catch the soprano F6 Queen of the Night aria note? And Dimash doesn’t just touch it…. he flat out sings it! So amazing.
Your interpretation was a very good one in a more literal sense and I understand it completely. However this is also a much more metaphorical song about anyone entering a new phase of life or taking on a challenge or choosing a different career path for instance, as a few examples, where you have the chance to reinvent yourself.

At the beginning sounds an old Turkic stringed instrument called Kobys. It is probably the oldest bowed stringed instrument in the world and it spread to became the prototype of all European string instruments as violin an chello. That and the use of the fa minor key in the composition gives the vibe of Middle East /oriental/ exotic sound.
Think he´s singing to migrants in general: "New ground far as I can see, new ground underneath my feet, Stranger in a stranger land, new chance to see who I am if I have the strength to begin again"
Dimash, like over 80% of Kazaks is Muslim.
That is why you hear a lot of Middle Eastern sounds in his music.
His form of Islam bears almost no resemblance to Middle Eastern Islam except for the chants and such.
For me, as Greek, it's more of a geographical matter. Countries near Middle East have a lot of influence by this kind of music. Greeks are Orthodox Christians but have a lot of melismas (Greek word for song/melody) and other styles that are commonly used in Middle East.
