Very interesting video. It's such a shame the "One Man, One Engine" motto with the engine builders' signature cannot be used because in America, if something went wrong, the engine builder in Zuffenhausen would be personally sued. I love these videos that show everything being hand-made, and how everything is measured to absolute perfection. Germans are obsessive compulsive about craftsmanship, quality and fit/finish, and it shows; Americans are obsessive about litigation, and it shows.

Amazing...you think they would keep this factory in lock down so the competition does not see how they build it. They let the people free here to film and touch it.
I think I'm going to send a job application to the Porsche company. I have lots of experience with cars. I know how to drive them, fuel them, I changed flat tyres quite a bit, changed the oil and filters accordingly, changed the sparks plugs, wash and polish...ehhh..I think I've changed the clutch of a Toyota once and replaced an alternator with belt and everything...and also replaced how it's called an...the thingy that makes the car starts...aaah! got it...battery! So I think am pretty much qualified to tackle down any designing/mechanical problems that may arise during manufacturing process. I am wandering if they do offer a good retiring program.

Amazing.... That part at 4:50 is a little embarrassing, for me being an American; Personally, I would be absolutely ecstatic if my 918 engine was built by a woman. I would be honored if, after putting down some intimidating lap times, I could show off this machine and tell people (especially bigots) that a woman hand built this pinnacle of performance.
....I'm glad "Tim" was paying attention, and is intelligent enough to understand the point I was trying (unsuccessfully, btw) to make. Other countries and nationalities treat and think of women differently than the USA. As hard as that might be to believe, for some people still.

I wish I could order one! Which makes me think, Why not every once in awhile do a Giveaway with Sports cars or hyper cars like these? And Im not just putting Porsche on the spot, Im talking all the Big Names with there multi million dollar cars.. . Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, ect.! Not everybody has a chance to make six figures a year and its hard to do so in a world where everbody is trying to make it to the top in the first place! Also, if any of these companies did choose to do give aways with these beautiful cars, How much money would they really lose from one car?!! I bet less than half the price there charging! Because the Names of these companies play a big roll on there cars price tags!! Another thing, I also bet a $20k-$30k Subaru or Honda would go longer in life without any problems showing up AND still be ran as daily drivers! Just saying!! I will put Porsche on that long lasting list too because they have been around for years and actually do produce a good amount of prduction cars. Anyways, I Know.. I know.. . . My words mean nothing anyway! I forgot, Im down here and they are up there.. . .Yea. . . Awsome work and Awsome factory Porsche, Great work!

I wouldnt take it to Porche just to get a $10k Check up, just for them to Change the Fluids, Rotate Tires and whatever else it is that they do!! Theres plenty of people out there that works on there own Ferrari Or Lambo or Porsche!!! Anything can be done if YOU put your mind to it!! Humans like you and I built this car....Right?? That Taking it to the Dealership Crap is for the people that are scared to get there Nails Dirty, And Dont Tell me you wouldnt want to work on a 918 yourself, Unless your one that doesnt like to get there Nails dirty and like to dig and figure stuff out?? Case Closed.
