This is exactly how I am starting my daughter's microlocs on her 17 inch hair! Interlock the roots, twist the middle and braid the ends!! Haha.
(We live in a village in Africa, I DIY everything🤭)

Ha, I know right!!! It was a lot going on and I finally have a bit of balance in my life so I decided to make videos again.
You did amazing love! I self installed smallish interlocs for the same reason - didn't have that sisterlock coin!! I love my hair and I think you will too, the freedom and reduced haircare time is amazing for mothers. All the best for your birth if it hasn't happened already!
NaturalLoveSong my husband thought I was insane even asking to spend that much money on my hair🤦🏽♀️ not to mention the 40 plus hours it would have taken... baby will be here in a few days🥰
I have 3 babies so I'm too busy to devote time to my hair, I can barely shower uninterrupted!🤗

Lakiela Manning yes, my hair has been put in the back burner so this was the best decision for me. Plus I love the look of locs so it’s a win win.

Awww welcome! I went the sisterlocks route, paid the crazy price (my consultant quotes were over $2k) but 2 years later I couldn't be happier. Enjoy hair freedom!

You did a great job! I'm hoping to get Sisterlocks at some point this year. I was quoted $3000 based on my length 17". That was via asking how much from a brand ambassador on IG. No Ma'am!

@ms. gigi How long is your hair? I've never heard anyone say that they've been told that their hair is to long to loc and I'm in several loc groups on FB
OMG! I also want sister locks and my hair is currently 16in. I'm also preparing to do myself. Thus watching YT 😉 I can't afford $2k and up prices, I was quoted. I'm a kitchen beautician and feel@ confident that it will help me have a better appreciation for this transition, education and maintenance experience of doing it myself.
@@Ndiscreet76 have you decided whether you're going to interlock braidloc or 2 strand twist. That's currently my dilemma. 2 strand twists would be easiest imo & interlocs would take the longest. I'm thinking about starting off with 2 strand twists to get my parts rt and a grid that I like and loc count that I'm happy with. Then changing them over to interlocs. That may be team to much but it's a thought running thru my head
@@yvetteoliver1055 Girl, we should collaborate and start a "getting started micro/sister locs" bizness! I am also leaning more towards the starting out with two strand twists transitioning to interlocking. I definitely want my grid to be on point to provide me with the goal of versatility with my locs.
Sis the fact you did this with child makes me even more motivated to knock mine out!

🦋I'm currently installing mini locs using two strand twist & I wish I would have done a grid pattern vs. Making up sections as I go. Ur way seems so much easier (although not easy, lol) I hope ur baby comes out healthy & happy🦋
Congratulations on your new baby. You did an amazing job. Your hair is beautiful. I can’t wait to see the maturity of your interlocks. I also started my hair with two- stranded twists almost 2 years ago, and my only regret was that I wish I started them sooner. I also did my daughter’s hair with braids and her hair length is the length of yours.
Oh wow how old is your daughter? I’m also thinking of doing them for my girls when they get of age...

Impressive! I'm 9months now and needed a committed of locs bc I'm have 2 kids and my focus can't be on my hair for long periods of time. I just got my Installation of microlocs aka braidlocs this weekend. All the best for you!💕👏🏾

Gosh I remember I use to watch your micro braids videos when I was younger but I love that your locing your hair. I went the traditional route but I do enjoy looking at those that do micro locs as well
oooo these babies are going to be beautiful. As someone who started with braidlocs, 2 yrs later sister locs consultants stop me all the time thinking its sister locs. Good decision, u have saved hundreds of dollars and u will be happy that all that beauty is done by u
thats such a good idea..im going to get someone to part my hair and then finish because that was my biggest issue I was having doing them on my own.
Loving them already! They are going to be stunning. I tell everyone to enjoy every stage because they evolve so quickly.
I did small braidlocs 3 years ago this July and am never going back. It took me forever to decide to loc and then the price of sisterlocs was a no go. Found braidlocs a great compromise. It took me 4 days of straight braiding sun up to sun down. It was rough but it was worth it. Love them.

I’ve been looking for someone to do mines but with the length of my hair I know it’s gonna be pricey also, I’ve been looking into doing them myself so thanks for the Motivation there is hope, Lol, nice job, they are beautiful..
You can do it. They are easy to install, you just need to lay the foundation.

So happy you're back on YT!! I've been following on IG. You are my hair idol lol I started my loc journey almost 4 years ago. I got medium sized loc because sisterlocs were too expansive. I didn't know it was possible to start them on our own! Anyways... welcome back :)
I thought sisterlocks was the only way to go but I found microlocs on Instagram and CZcams and decided to give them a try.

Nah, I’m good, I don’t think I’ll be doing other people’s hair😩 it was a lot and I’ll have 2 babies under 2... I’m in survivor mode myself.

I started with the the small locs as well and as time went on I combined many many locs I now have traditional locs.
Don’t say that you can’t afford it because your words are powerful say that you’re not willing to pay that much money when you know how to do it yourself you’re not into wasting money you can afford it God bless you

That's what I'm here for too . But most CZcamsrs just keep on talking and flipping their hair . Annoying as hell

Yeah I got quoted like $900-$1000 for me to get instant locs, and that was with my OWN hair, no extensions. My hair fairly long , APL when it’s loose, so it would have cost an arm and a leg, so I ended up doing them myself 😊

I know you've got micros now but please, please, please could you do a video at some point on the fave natural hair products you used during your time off CZcams.
There literally wasn't a single product you used on your hair, that my hair didn't love and would love some new recommendations. Really hope you see this. No rush obviously, you have 2 young children and a hubby to look after. I'll be patient 🤗
I wasn’t a product junkie so my staple products was all I used.

So when you have to retighten you just untwist and retwist all of them?
