I planned mine out almost a month in advance. I installed 15 Jumbo knotless braids for the Beyoncé concert & left for 2 weeks. I washed my hair inside the braids the day before I got ready to install. Labor day weekend came and I worked braid by braid until I finally finished...2 days & a half with 220. I'm so pleased & cant wait for them to start maturing❤
I’m about to start my 8yr old’s and she dreads sitting. This is a great idea. I’m gonna put braids in tonight after her wash start her locs in the middle. When she gets tired she can pull them in a ponytail.
@@SassShea I don't have the patience to count, but I took your idea and she was so happy that she didn't have to sit. I did large braids, but put them in bantu knots. Each day I took out a row and after I twisted I put it back in a knot. It took us about 3 days. I braided a little at the top and did 2 strand twist. So far, she's loving them. Mostly because of the parting she is able to still style it like she could when it was loose. Now im hating because my locs are as versatile.
You did a great job with this whole video very detailed. I install microlocs as well and I cannot stress enough the importance of density to clients. I agree with so many points and tips you stated. I started teaching classes to make sure a client understands what’s going on and I find that helps them out alot. Glad to see another great Loctician at top of her skills keep going it’s only up from here. Beautiful work Loc Queen ❤
Girl it is protective season over here!! I decided to do mini twists this year & I followed your grid idea. It was definitely a game changer!! I found myself working faster & counting down the boxes. It took me 4 evenings doing my hair for 2-3hours each evening to finish my whole head. I plan on leaving the twists in until after New Year's. Washing & re-twisting as needed. I did my twists the last week of Oct 2023, looking forward to ringing the New Year with my mini twists!! Thank you for the great videos
Hi Shar’del, Thank you for getting back in touch with me I appreciate that. I love your work I think you are amazing hair technician, you inspire me to start my mirco locs, I would like to sign up for your courses but am not sure how it works am in the Uk ,so how would the course work please.?
I want these now!! I have instant Locs and I’m not too in love with them. I might wait a little while longer and comb my instant Locs out and go this route !! Great Job 🎉
Hello. I am a beginner and want to become a professional microloc consultant. I have one client so far and I’m interested to know what we should do after installation once two strand twists unravel at the ends? My client has low density hair and I used the interlock method at the base to secure the locs. Should we leave the ends as they are and let them mature over time or should I continue to twist when it’s time for a retie, or should I try interlocking from the ends back up?
This is my first time hearing of this technique. I don’t recall seeing a video for sister locs, but I have been two-strand twisting my hair since 2006! It’s my go-to for the summer. 👍🏽 I’m really interested in seeing the results as it grows, because what I’m picturing, is two different textures from the beginning stage until it grows out…
You are such an excellent teacher! I learned so much and got a great handle on doing this style! Im doing this style on someone really soon, thank youu so much! 💫💜💫
I could have sworn from the side profile that was me in the chair! Oh my gosh her side profile is so identical to mine. I’m interested in seeing the full face
This video was exactly what I was looking for. I have heat damage from silk presses so I was told I could still get locs but they would have to interloc from the beginning. So would that help my ends to not be all over the place or would you cut them?
So I would suggest braid locs because those will stay in better. Are you thinking of getting extensions? Your ends with loc eventually but it may take longer and you may end up cutting some.
There are different rotations you can do. Look up two point rotation, 3 point rotation, and 4 point rotation. Normally when installing on yourself two point rotation is easiest.
Hello I hope all is well. What the difference between sister lov and micro locs? Does interlocking differentiate the two? Can each be done without interlocking? Is that recommended?
I love your work and who is the singer to this song playing in your video I like it ❤❤❤❤❤ you did such a bomb job I am obsesssed with these braids ever since I came across them on CZcams I don’t want no other style lol blessings on blessings
@@ShardelHaden ok awesome thank you I am going to install my sisters micro locs and after watching your video I am confident they will look amazing.... thank you so much again
Ugh I love and hate this so much!! The size and grid looks perfect... I'm trying to do this but I think my hair is really thin? I do t have nearly as many locs I have maybe 18 on my left bottom section I have 6 or 7 more sections.. I'm gonna be sad if they are too big down the road I will literally cry 😅😂😂 but you did a creator job
Question! Is it healthy to get the extension length and grow out your hair with that installed? I wanted to venture into sister locs but I don’t have the length I’m hoping to achieve yet (16inch).
Yes, it is as healthy as you taking care of your hair daily. So the hair that is added via extension is human hair, though it is not growing from your scalp. It still requires hydration and daily care to make sure everything is growing and locking in a healthy manner.
@ShardelHaden ok thank u for responding! I look forward to seeing your growth and u teaching others your skills. Never stop learning and becoming creative. Yes!!! I tell this to my clients!!! Hair Density is soooooo important!!!!! The goal is healthy strong lengthy hair!!! Small parts and sections definitely break long term!!! I've seen it happen with my clients that have regular locs!!! 💜💜💜💜
😍👌🏾Your work is very neat and I appreciate you taking the time to do a thorough video explaining in detail how this technique is properly done. How much would this normally cost?
The parts are important only if they are important to you. Some people get free parting which doesnt consist of a grid. It depends more on what your goals for your are! You should wash starter locs every four weeks! :)
They look beautiful! What product did you use besides the Nairobi? For the partings? And what products would you recommend for shampoo and conditioner on micro locs?
Thank you! 😊 I use shine in jam normally for parting. I would recommend design essentials oat protein shampoo, the honey shampoo, and the rosemary mint conditioner
Beautiful locs❤ Question to anyone that's willing to answer. Thanks... I suffer from epilepsy, and I get random EEG test done. Would it be a bad idea to start a sisterlock journey? 🤔

As your going up the rows how do you know that they are the same width as the row below it?
By matching the box size below it. However they are sized depending on the density of the hair location on the head
