Find it rather interesting that the theme tune used from 1978-87 starts with a rather upbeat and happy feel to it, until right at the end where BAM minor chord kicks in...kinda gives the impression of "Oh damn, what's gonna happen?"
Considering that this was during the Cold War, that was a rather fitting tune.
Yeah same thing with the ones from 88-99
It's incredibly sinister.
I just HAD to love the 1983 one, where they had a separate cameraman showing behind the scenes and the cue to move.
I love that sad/ominous note at the end of the old intros, which gives these rather upbeat intros a subtle serious undertone. :)
At 1:30 odd that final note is very sinister. I love it. 😊

Same, the 2012-17 intro was the best, but to me, the 2017-present one is not too bad to me.
Definitely a step up over what we got in the U.S though!

Don’t know why but the ones from 2010-2021/present (evening bulletins) are just too short for me to like it so I’m happy the new daytime bulletins are longer again.

Not technically a rip-off, since the same guy behind the BBC News theme composed the recent Avisen theme.

Why does the evening news has an other intro that the daily?
Well what had happened was that there had been austerity measures that resulted in the daytime news being eliminated as they had lower ratings than the evening news. During 2020 they temporarily brought back daytime news so people could understand the pandemic situation. The current daily bulletins were later made permanent as they now have a streaming news channel. Usually the 7 am and noon bulletins are simulcast on DR1. DR2 often simulcasts it when there is no other programming; often between 830am and 5pm on weekdays and 830 and noon on weekends. This is why the music jingles were different.
