  • Quadrophenia is the sixth album by the English rock band The Who. Released on 19 October 1973, Quadrophenia is a double album, and the group's second rock opera. Its story involves social, musical, and psychological happenings from an English teenage perspective, set in London and Brighton in 1964 and 1965. The name is a variation on the incorrect popular usage of the medical diagnostic term schizophrenia as multiple personality disorder to reflect the four distinct personalities of Jimmy, the opera's protagonist-each said to represent the personality of one member of The Who. The title also referenced the Quadraphonic sound schemes then being introduced.
    Tracks included:
    05) THE PUNK AND THE GODFATHER
    06) I'M ONE
Enjoy the Quad. series. Feel free to comment and rate, and even feedback about my series. Thanks!

This music is soaked in to my very being. It has never left me. Pete told like it was and then set it to music. A masterpiece that will never have an equal.

Wow.....The Punk Meets the Godfather and I'm One on one post, wow... thanks a million friend!!!! Look, the Beatles and the Stones were okay and had some good songs BUT THE WHO had a different connection to something a bit beyond in our conscience. You Who fans know what i'm talking about. But for the rest of ya, when you hear that redundant question about "The Beatles or The Stones?," just answer THE WHO!!!!!!!! No apologies!!!!!

There are overtones of the earlier Tommy recording in this portion of the album, it seems to me. And beneath it all is a seething anger; a kind of teenage angst. And I enjoy it all very much. Keith Moon's frenetic drumming and the musical and emotional singing of both Roger Daltrey and Peter Townshend. Delightful!

Saw Entwistle play this in Paris. Love Keith Moon's drumming too. It sounds like he's running into a fight all the way through. Such fantastic songs, probably rock's most underrated album Tbh, From the sheer balls-out wall of punches that is 'The Real Me' to the reprisal of Jimmy's four themes during 'I've had enough', EVERY single note & rest belong. Cheers Jason.

The Who were one of the driving forces behind the UK mod culture in the mid 1960s. They were never quite as influential after the death of Keith Moon in 1978 but by then the mod scene had been taken over by punk and heavy metal. This album as well the 1969 Tommy is all you really need to start a collection of Who classics.

Moon is definitely the best drummer of all time. Entwhistle is tied with McCartney for best bassist of all time. Both of them were so innovative with bass riffs and bass lines.

That is a really odd question from 3100. I believe it's a reference to Hooker's song that inspired Townshend. An inside joke, I guess. Keep up the solid work. You're bringing the past alive. "This is where it all ends."

Ok, so this is the 2nd time you've commented on my vids. What is your problem dude? If you don't like it, then get the fuck outta here. Realize I can't be 100% perfect and I'vequite improved over my first project, which was Tommy. And once again, this is coming from a person who can't even use proper English. Who are you to speak? All I am doing is doing my best to display the lyrics for the songs so people can understand them better and for them to follow along.
