- Quadrophenia is the sixth album by the English rock band The Who. Released on 19 October 1973, Quadrophenia is a double album, and the group's second rock opera. Its story involves social, musical, and psychological happenings from an English teenage perspective, set in London and Brighton in 1964 and 1965.
The name is a variation on the incorrect popular usage of the medical diagnostic term schizophrenia as multiple personality disorder to reflect the four distinct personalities of Jimmy, the opera's protagonist-each said to represent the personality of one member of The Who. The title also referenced the Quadraphonic sound schemes then being introduced.

Just the most Amazing Music,from the greatest band of all time. When I first heard The Who I was blown away. This Music is classical, it is from 1973 and sounds like it was written yesterday!
I got the LP for Christmas 1973, still have it, great condition. Great album, teen angst way before the 90s TV series ever made it a theme.
I think all the band members were at their best. I consider this album the pinacle of The Who's musical career
this song is so amazing and the whole album is so easy to identify with.. i love the Who, they will get you through your rough teen yrs.

Thank you for this. I needed to her both of these tracks today. They blend seamlessly and are my favorite Who songs, and Quadrophenia is absolutely their finest work. So beautiful. So important, and a more perfect example of teen angst has yet to be written. I'm 53, but needed to hear this so that I could remember what was important to me back then.

When I think back, Peter Townshend and The Who members were creating and performing in ways far advanced of fellow, so called, rock n' roll musicians of that period in time in the British music scene. What they were doing didn't sound like The Rolling Stones, certainly had no connection with what The Beatles were putting out. The Who were a whole other animal difficult to define.

Most people think so, but I've been doing this kinda thing for a lot of videos, and it has come so easy to me. I copy and paste the lyrics from a few trusted sites, so it makes it a bit easier. It also makes it less time consuming, since I've heard these songs over and over lol, so I know all the lyrics by heart!
At the time this came out, it seemed to be parallel to my own life , it just fit , everything, it was like looking into my head.& Wondering how did they know. Classic Blessed Be!!!! Xenobiadarkwolf

It was a style this album was about the war between Mods and Rockers. The Who actually were part of both group at different points in time.

Yeah 5 inches is 12.7 centimeters so it would be pretty weird sounding.
