    This combination trailer is a rock solid idea and is very asthetcally pleasing. I'm interested in building just the single version and will use the same styling to build out mine. Great job and thank you very much for putting this video together!

    Looks like one hell of a project when you have a flat tire on one of the inside wheels...

    Great idea. I've always thought that trailers needed to be as versatile as possible. I've never seen one that can haul a Jet Ski and a motorcycle, but it seems like a great idea for traveling with an RV.

    Such a great build. The only concern is, what if you get a flat in the middle tire? But the chance of getting flat on both centers would be very unlikely. Thanks.

    You did build a good sturdy strong trailer but what I'd like to know why did you use steel instead of aluminum that must be very heavy when their together what's the total weight of both of them.... together.

    • @jaceksuchon4717
      @jaceksuchon4717  Před rokem +2

      Steel is way cheaper than aluminum and the trailers are not that heavy. I did not weight them but I can pick one up of the ground myself

    I like it. But since you need to have the room to store an entire trailer and ski if you are only taking one. Why not just build a dolly and off load the unused ski in less time than it would take to separate the trailers? And it would be easier to store just a ski on a dolly in the corner of the garage than an entire ski on a whole other trailer.
    Would be less cost in upkeep too since your not paying for 4 tires, only two.
    You can buy dollys for pretty cheap without making them.

      @@jaceksuchon4717 using the original dual trailer. I may have miss understood but I thought you had that already.
      Or build an actual dual place trailer. Only issue I can see is there are different stresses on the sections of the trailer. Suspension can only handle so much force, and absorb so much impact. So if you hit something in the ground, only one trailer is taking the impact and reacting it to, not both sections so they would be pulling and fighting against each other. Same as if you hit something with a center tire, the one next to it may miss it and cause the impact forces to stress against the trailer that is not reacting to anything.
      Be mindful of the wiring for the lights too. I would have the center lights still come on when the running lights are on because you are over 80” wide and need ICC lighting (Federal requirement, and each state requires it) since you are in the US. So the center lights should still be lit up to show the width of the trailer at night.

    • @NikkiTheOtter
      @NikkiTheOtter Před měsícem

      @@PTRRanger951 It's not shown at night. I would HOPE that the running-light wire is run to both sides.
      Personally, I'd wire it so that both lights on the left trailer light up for indicators on the left, and the same for the right. So every light gets the same amount of use, the middle brake lights still work as intended, and it doesn't get messy.

    • @NikkiTheOtter
      @NikkiTheOtter Před měsícem

      I can see this trailer setup being useful for things other than jetskis too. Like a motorcycle trailer, where it WOULD be a good thing to separate the trailers before going to the river. Leave the bike trailer back at base camp. (Or a supply trailer, or any number of other modules).
      Personally, if I were designing a trailer like this though, I'd leave it normal width with a center rail at all times, and just have slide-in modules on dollys, including the jetski, motorbike, and cargo modules. Because then I wouldn't have to put a specific module in a specific spot like this design has to.

      @@NikkiTheOtteragree. There is a company in the US called Shadow Trailers that make various trailers.
      One of the ones they make is a universal one that has a flat bottom. It has receivers, the same for a trailer hit for a vehicle, mounted up and down on the floor in certain spots.
      You put the bunks for the skis into them so you have a jet ski trailer. Remove them and it’s a flat deck trailer for anything else.
      They make it up to a four place trailer for 4 skis so you can have two skis on there and a quad, or three skis and a motorcycle or luggage or anything else. Remove them else and haul a car or UTV. It’s truly a universal trailer.
