@@alexgallegos7804 yes. "Waitlist" had to put a down payment to get on it which is BS. But the price is MSRP. Dealerships prey on peoples inability to say no, or walk away. Thats why they try to be your friend, it makes you emotionally invested in the transaction. If the dealer gives you even 1% "there may be other fees" just say NOPE MSRP or I go somewhere else. He pushes back again? Bee line straight for the door and dont stop. I got my 370z nismo, focus RS, and 19 trd pro taco like this and didnt pay a dime over msrp.
Beautiful truck. Toyota nailed it. I would just be terrified to go off-roading with it passed going to my hunting grounds. 900+- payments for it would make me clench up the whole time taking the fun away. Nice review as always.

Probably, the ranger raptor is 77k canadian so it will be around 70k all vehicles are a good 30 percent over priced no question, demand is going down, bank approvals are going down, prices will have to come down
Sadly, when gm built trucks with front lockers they left everyone behind. Front lockers are only found on the Raptor, Jeep and Colorado. Im pissed they didnt put it on the new Tacoma.
This year I purchased my first brand new truck! A 2023 Lunar Rock double cab, 6 speed manual of course. The Taco loves off-roading with super low gear ratio with the manual and it’s probably the most reliable truck you can buy right now. But I’ve got my Toyota dealer trying to get me a Trail Hunter 😅 The way I see it, if I can have Toyota factory warranty all the upgrades I would do anyways and I don’t have to spend hours building it, that’s just more time I’m not worrying about break downs on my dime, and more time using my truck for work in the patch or getting out into that sweet Alberta / BC backcountry ⛰️ But then many will say “ But sir that thing will break down immediately just like a Ford” Ya cool story man I just don’t think Toyota would put this turbo I4 in a Land Cruiser if it meant tarnishing, the reputation that it’s had for having legendary reliability, longevity and off-road cred…

Had I known I was moving to Florida I would’ve kept it. Even though, I’m here in Florida enjoying my Corvette and my new ZL1 convertible and so happy to be out of Massachusetts !

A lot of people saying that this turbo 4 cylinder engine will burn out fast and gaskets issues, due to higher revving engine. ! Also, this engine will have to work much harder compared the 3.5 v6 , while driving/ pulling up the Hope Princeton highway! Toyota had a great V6 3.5 l engine and a lot of drivers are pleased with it . All 23 trucks sold out because a lot of the serious Tacoma / back country/ towing owners , are scared of this new replacements engine! I’d tried to get an new truck and they are impossible to get! My 1990 Tacoma truck drove 400, 000 miles and been thru the ringer and had a Hino truck frame . This truck is a c channel frame ! I doubt this new style truck will last more if 10 years?

Nice truck, but with all that technology and the sky-high MSRP, former, new Toyota truck buyers such as myself can longer afford and/or justify buying one. The thought of a tiny, twin-turbo gas powered powerplant as the only engine offer is a miss. The gloss black fender flares will be just fine for the 95% of Tacoma customers that never go offroad.
Looks like the front seat position is way better. The 3rd gens can be rough for taller people. I was wondering how tall you are so I can get a better idea of how much space there really is?

Nice vehicle and beautiful truck but the Toyota Tacoma is famous for lasting over 300k but now because its turbo chaged the motor wont last that long with major work being done on it.
@@gregthomson7889 I am not sure what kind of standards you are using. Modern turbos are far more reliable than most older motors. You'd be EXTREMELY lucky to ever get 100K miles out of a motor in a car built in the 50's or 60's (you'd be lucky to get 75k realistically). You can easily get 200k in even small BMW turbo engines producing lots of power.
@@MintStiles It's just what every mechanic is saying.Regular aspirated Toyota engines regularly go 300 to even 400k if you are very lucky a turbo motor might go 200k without a new turbo or engine work but thats so rare.I have owned 3 Toyotas since new all went over 300k with out any engine work and your probably a much smoother driver than me.

Have owned a 2017 and 2021 Colorado ZR2. The suspension on the Tacoma may be superior and unlike the ZR2, may allow you to tow a fuller load. Where the ZR2 still stands out is on the interior for the 2023 ZR2 - that interior setup for the 2023 ZR2 received a huge upgrade with a sunroof option that is appealing in an offroad truck. It will come down to price competitiveness and warranties offered, but mostly price (and financing incentives possible).

You don't know that for a few years. It's likely that it will be a bit less durable, but it's really hard to make such statements.
