When I read this comment that had the names of the songs, at first when I read “birth”, I was like...... 😳 wat....
As stated by a content creator named Jacob Geller in a video essay of this game, “Mario Galaxy uses the coldness of the cosmos to make the places we do have feel that much warmer, that much more delicate.” Galaxy is that game that we all found solace in. That game we wish we could go back to as the cold and darkness of the real world, of reality, sinks in.
I thought he made a lot of good points in the vid IMO. Mario galaxy is just a masterpiece, im sad the next generation wont know about this game. And even if they do they wont know the nostalgia of it.

Man, Mario Galaxy is my favorite game...and here’s why:
One night in November, me, my mom, my sister and my dad were walking around, looking at all the Christmas decorations being turned on and set up, and my mom looked at GameStop and said “since you’ve been good and kept good grades, we can get a game for you.” I was so happy! I picked Mario Galaxy, and I thought it looked so cool. We got home and I went and played it immediately. I stayed up all night! The most nostalgic thing about that game was the Gateway music...it makes me think of that moment all over again.
For me personally, I would play this game with my sister, and we played it almost all the time. I remember when we finally reached the library and heard the music of that firelit room, we were immediately entranced. It was so soothing to us. I remember we would often play late at night, and when we were tired, we'd do to the library and let Mario "rest" there while we would fall fast asleep to the Library theme. Good times...

Whenever I come to this playlist it's a 50-50 shot whether it will help me study or whether cause me to fill with so much nostalgia and homesickness that I need to stop studying to simply take in the music and the memories.

This is an old playlist and i don't expect anyone to come by and see this comment, but i just want to say all the unsaid things here. This playlist is so beautiful. It carries the innocence of my childhood, before everything happened and i lost myself. This playlist was like an anchor for me, and sums up the perfect little happiness of that time, where i would lose myself in the sunrise, chocolate ice cream, praise for my amazing grades, sunshine, videogames, daydreams, and my imaginary world i used to visit through my diary. Now i've lost myself, and i don't know how to get back, but this brings me a small sense of familiarity, at least, Thank you.

if you think about it they could keep making Mario galaxy games forever. there are endless possibilities for world designs and levels. it would get too old too quickly though. it'd be like how Disney is making remakes of old movies with little to no originality
JTDraws Yeah, even though galaxy 1 and 2 are my favorite games ever probably the series has always been at its best when experimenting and innovating. Although I would never be opposed of having a galaxy 3, I think it would be more interesting to come up with a completely different experience in a new game.

I too used to play this game all the time for years. I'm fortunate enough to have stumbled across my old WII last year and have the opportunity to play it again. It's still as great as I remember, though the mysterious feeling you got as a child just isn't there for the most part. The music always manages to bring me back though...

I remember, yes good ol' days, The super mario galaxy franchise was and still remains my favorite game. The nostalgic feeling is so amazing, it is like a mix of happiness and sadness, except the pain is because of all the happiness that cannot be contained. The best feeling ever, thank you so much.

When you hear this music, try to remember what it was like to play this game. I've done it so many times that I actually went and bought another Wii after my first broke. 6:55 man, I know a fan favourite from this game is Gusty Garden, and it's amazing obviously, but my favourite theme is definitely Space Junk Galaxy. It has everything and describes Super Mario Galaxy in a single song. It's calm and mysterious, but also represents the vastness of space and the adventurous feeling of being able to explore it. It sounds like you could hear this song floating through space.

I remember when I first got this game. I was 4 and was with my mom at Target, when Super Mario Galaxy first came out on a display and playable demo. I tried playing, but wasn't used to the controls or the Wii remote. I was so cute, holding the joystick with both hands to move, then grabbing the remote with both hands to jump, not knowing how it worked. My mother noticed my interest in the game, and bought it for me. 13 years later in 2020, I am STILL playing Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Galaxy 2! Played it today as a matter of fact! This game will forever be my childhood! Thank you Nintendo, thank you mom, and thank you Mario, for the lovely and fun childhood!

• Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones, because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late night study session, you won't wake up anyone, 🎧
• a tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well. ☕
• Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/ phone, a few pens, paper or whatever you need. 📖
Anything else you could need, what about a heat pad, a blanket, a good lamp, your pet so you have a study buddy 🐕
Reminder: After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around. Better stop the music or put on different music for the break. Open your window, even if it's cold outside. Fresh air will make it better, trust me.
You could also lay your head down on your desk for ten minutes and listen to a podcast. Or, if you have to read a book, listen to the audiobook of it. You can also listen to the audiobook while doing another thing, that's even better than listening to music while reading the book.

Mario galaxy is absolutely one of my favorite games ever and here's why: My mom played it a lot when I was a child so I don't remember it that much, but for Christmas last year, my sister and stepdad decided to buy my mom a wii and a couple games. One of those being Mario galaxy. I don't exactly remember what happened when she unwrapped it, but she probably freaked out. She played it a bunch, and completed it within a few months. She can't play it much though due to work. But she really wants to get back to it. I still get a strange feeling of nostalgia when I watch her play it. But I think that the music is absolutely beautiful and I love listening to it. I wish we could get a remaster for the switch and special controllers that are like the wii controllers. Anyways, thank you for reading this. And thank you, Nintendo, for making this game.

Space junk galaxy has a truely amazing song. Just hearing it, it sounds like a relaxing melody, but when you think about in with the context of mario galaxy, it feels almost somber and empty. Like there truly is nothing around you that you know, it's gone. And your stuck in space. Almost completely alone. It's not the only song that does that but it does it best.
I know this video came out two years ago, but I still feel the need to state that everyone loves each and every one of these songs. Not only for the sweet soft melody and the nostalgia, but for the way it makes you feel. It might make you feel happy, but you still cry. Not because it’s sad, but because it hits you with memories you didn’t even know you had. That is why we all love these songs.

i was under 4 years old at the time, but i vividly remember going to a gamestop with my brother and him picking galaxy out. this game, its sequel too- they both hold so many memories for us. we don't talk so much anymore, but if i ever got the chance, i want to play galaxy 2 with him again.

To the gateway hits the hardest for me, mainly because i remember super mario galaxy was the first game i ever played, and it was at my grandparents house. they used to live in my hometown but have since moved away. It is truly sad that i will never get to relive the joys of playing galaxy for the first time again. The song actually makes me tear up because i start thinking about it.
It’s been two years since I started listening to this mix and with all honesty it never gets old. Somehow no matter how many times I replay it the same wave of nostalgia hits me every time sometimes even unlocking new memories of this game I had long forgot i remember the happiness that came with this game. It was perfect it every way
and 13 years later, this is still my favorite game, I think at this point it will be forever.
The nostalgia from this hits hard. I grew up playing this and watching my father play it. He played me and my siblings the soundtrack of this and Mario 64 all the time. It brings back so many memories of watching my dad play and me playing. The graphics and design just blew my little mind and I’m so happy I was able to grow up playing this. Truly a wonderful game and I would recommend to anyone if they get the chance to, definitely play this, such a cool game.

this game came out the year before I was born so I wasn't ever really playing it in the first 3 years or so but my brothers were and thanks to them I got to experience the beauty of this game. hearing the music and thinking back to little me shaking the Wii remote to jump and grab coins. running around Rosalina's place, swaying back and forth to the music, and having a big old grin on my face makes me miss it. I still have my Wii and Wii U and all the silly games I used to play. I'm so thankful I got to experience games like this even tho lots were released before and after I was born. These childhood experiences really shaped the girl I am today. never will I forget the feeling of each game. I love my brothers and parents for letting me have a childhood like this.

Being depressed and on the edge of committing every day really makes soundtracks like these hit different with a whole new wave of nostalgia. If I could go back to this I wouldn't even hesitate. This soundtrack, the game itself, all of it is something I never realized meant a lot to me until now. Childhood might've been messy, but this was definitely one of the things that's kept my life feeling magical :')

Galaxy will always hold a special place in my heart. The first game to introduce me to a love for music
when i was a senior in college a few years ago, for some reason in my last finals week, I craved playing this game when I was finished. something about the stress and the worry gave me an intense desire to boot up the game I hadn't touched in a while and play. the moment that I had turned in my last assignment. and that's what I did. the peaceful serenity of this game, largely created by its soundtrack, was beautiful and a fitting goodbye to college.

The crazy part is that I have beaten Super Mario Galaxy 4 times throughout the years. I always want to go back to playing it for nostalgia, and I still have it on my Wii. Everyone's telling their experiences with this game so I might say some personal stuff too. "Luma" would always make me cry when I was 6, I got sad over the fact that Rosalina was quite alone and i would never want to feel that way. I nowadays am alone, enjoying my loneliness and still tearing up whenever I hear Luma. But it's decided: i want that song to play in my funeral. Just to remember the good times I had with almost every special person in my life with Mario Galaxy (or even the Mario Saga). This game completed my life.
I feel sad, because I played this game only on Dolphin on my lame pc with shitty fps. I want to play it on real wii, and I feel like I missing this game. Really beatiful music

I did not notice how quickly I finished playing the game, although not 100%.
Therefore, although the control and perception on the old TV also play an important role, the first impression is still most important, and I had it when I played on the emulator.
Really sad, but I don't regret it.
@@cat34_ea Mario Galaxy was available for Widescreen TVs, i had an oportunity to play a bit when i visited my cousin, it was amazing, because with one hand you can move mario and with the other aim to collect star bits.
In my pc was hard to do both things because i was playing with the keyboard and the laptop mouse pad, but i think playing with the keyboard is better, mario movement still smooth, looks like it was optimized for keyboards

Having played the vast majority of Mario games, this is by far the best. It brings nostalgia more than any else. The World building and adventure, the memories of being a kid trying to figure out the gravity of the planets....
Its quite unbelievable how one single game lit up children’s childhood, filled their minds with joy and their dreams with adventures. And even now 10 years later it brings people happy memories and nostalgia.

Damn just listening to this just crushes me as i can never relieve those childhood memories and the intensity of those damn slide levels and the amount of time i put into the game despite having completed it 3 times
I wasn’t allowed to play video games on the living room tv. So when I’d get home I knew I had 20 minutes to move it in the living room and get to play on the big tv.
One day my mom came home early. And I thought I was about to be in trouble.
But instead the music was so relaxing, she just ended up walking in and taking a nap on the couch. I can’t explain why that’s such a big deal. But after that she would come into my room to hangout and watch me play it after work.

Nobody will probably ever see this comment, but in my opinion the Mario Galaxy Era of Video Games was the best to ever exist. Within 3 years of that game, we got Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, Terraria, Mario Galaxy 2, and a few other lasting games. All those games are still widely popular today. I grew up on Popularmmos, DanTDM, and my Wii for the first 10+ years of my life. Nowadays kids play Fortnite and watch awful content on CZcams. It's truly sad.
It's not the game that gives us all these emotions. It's the memories we've developed, some we may never get again that makes us smile.

I know this is late but with the Mario Galaxy series being one of my favourite of all time, this definitely earns a like and a subscribe from me! (Edit - Gateway, Observatory 3, World 3 and Cosmic Cove are my favourite, god does nostalgia hit like a truck)
For me there's so much in this game that makes it my favorite game of all time. But if I had to say Mt favorite part about this was the hub world aka rosalina ship. Such an amazing hub world with activities, seeing the ship get more and more unlocked and seeing ur progress as u help fix her ship and give her the energy is just.. I can't even explain it
This game hits hard for so many reasons. I'm 18 now, but when this game came out I was so young and had just broken my leg. I was bed bound for 6 weeks and was extremely sad. But my mom in an effort to cheer me up got me Mario Galaxy. This game gave me so much joy and happiness through thick and thin. The music, the level design, the atmosphere....ugh nintendo really knocked it out of the park.

I always fall asleep to this. It makes me sad that I sold both the super Mario galaxy games not knowing I would regret it. I also think you deserve a lot subscribers than you do now.
