  • Joe's Bikes - Cannondale SE2000 Bike Build - 1991 Model - Classic Collection Episode 2
    --------------------------------------------------
    For the second episode of the Classic Collection series we went pre-millenium and all the way to 1991 for this Cannondale SE2000 model. All the components on the bike are from the correct era and are extremely good quality to say the parts are all almost 30 years old. We hope you enjoy this build, and don't forget to like and subscribe!

    I have the same bike, what amazing is how much work they went through designing and making this thing with how little the rear suspension actually does, you can feel it, it does help, but its really only an inch of travel!!!! crazy!

    • @JoesBikesUK
      @JoesBikesUK  Před 6 měsíci

      The full suspension bikes had to start somewhere i suppose! They did design an iconic bike, but maybe for all the wrong reasons. Yes I think you are right, 1 inch of travel that would kick straight back at you was interesting for sure.
      Thanks for your comment and I hope you keep enjoying your Cannondale just as I do, cheers Joe.

      I agree, you can feel it trying to help you out. Contrary to what people may think, you actually feel it helping the most on climbs, and this bike has short chain stays and digs in on the super steep stuff like no other bike I have ever ridden. Mines a large and its flexy as a flag pole however I can give it a shimmy with my hips and the thing just bends like a fly rod!

    This remember me at my first Mountain Bike , witch i bought second hand , it was destroyed AF , it could not even rolled on the wheels , i was so fascinated than i work late night 3 am to bring back to life .. later i carry a variable wrench attached to seat post to be able to repair in the field ... in that time was that TV series , Pacific Blue ... man , i developed a serious passion ..

    Not too shabby. I wish the bike was spec'd with all the OG components. But still diggin' the video! The paint in it still looks great. Thanks man!

    Saludos, me gustó mucho este video, y vi también el de la Marin en donde ensamblas una Mount Vision e inicias llegando no se con exactitud si en una Mount Vision antigua o en una Rift Zone, que bueno que traigas estas clásicas, sirve para que los más jóvenes vean como eran los componentes y la mecánica hace un tiempo atrás, personalmente recordé varias cosas, entre ellas esos pulsadores shimano "pre rapidfire", también me pareció que usaste ambas cubiertas traseras, creo recordar que esa gama de Panaracer era Smoke detrás /Dart delante si no estoy mal, también me pareció extraño la ausencia de componentes Coda en esta Cannondale ya que esa era la marca de componentes de la casa, espero sigas trayendo más joyas antiguas como éstas, pudiera ser una Specialized, una GT, una Arrow o alguna marca que ya casi no se vea actualmente, me despido! 👍

      Glad you enjoy the videos of the old bikes, The Marin was a Mount Vision, we showed the old one and the new one in that video. The Coda parts stated to be introduced on later bikes from the super v era onwards which I think was a couple of years later than this bike. So glad you enjoyed the video and hope you watch our others too. Cheers Joe.

    Bei mir hängt es fast ungefahren an der Wand 😃👍!
    Orginal war beziehungsweise ist da eine Ritchey Kurbel dran, mit schwarzen Kettenblättern.
    Die Suntour Schalthebel mit dem XT Schaltwerk ist etwas schwer einzustellen aber es funktioniert!

    • @JoesBikesUK
      @JoesBikesUK  Před 2 lety +2

      Thank you for the comment, yes you are right the original came with Ritchey Cranks and Xt shifters. I have been able to get hold of the cranks and shifters since filming the build and have replaced them. I have also got hold of some new tyres and the bike looks like new now. I hope you enjoyed the film and continue to watch, cheers Joe.

      Ich kenne das Bike auch noch in original von 1991, aber ich war 11, also damals nicht meine Preisklasse!
      Frage an dich:
      Der Grivin Elastomer Vorbau war damals original, richtig?
      Gab es das Bike nicht mit der Headshock Gabel, ein Jahr später?
      Als letztes, hat das Bike einen fetten Pedalrückschlag, oder merkt man das durch den geringen Federweg eh nicht wirklich?
      Beste Grüße!!

    • @schonwetterfahrer1753
      @schonwetterfahrer1753 Před 2 měsíci

      Sollte drauf gewesen sein, laut Katalog. Bei mir war ein höhenverstellbar Vorbau montiert 🙄. Hab ich getauscht gegen einen gefederten von 92.
      92 war die Headshock Gabel verbaut.
      Allerdings war die noch gebogen! Und es Steuerrohr war natürlich getauscht, bei dem SE war es noch 1 Zoll.
      Pedalrrückschlag gibt es nicht wirklich. Das Ding federt bei jeden Tritt, so daß du nie deine Kraft komplett auf die Kurbel bekommst.
      Persönlich bin ich es einmal gefahren, fährt halt wie ein Fully aus der Zeit.

    Аммовилок еще не было, а кадейл уже был) Вообще в этом байке всё другое, сейчас ничего похожего нет в МТБ, начиная от рулевой, заканчивая геометрией рам. Как будто в параллельной вселенной очутился))

    I stopped following MTB tech before 27.5", and 29er was kinda taking a foothold in XC(M).
    Was there mass adoption of 2x drivetrains in MTB before the 1x wave? All I remember is triple, then suddenly 1x.
