The Bhagalpur riots of 1989 involved violence between Hindus and Muslims in the Bhagalpur district of Bihar. The riots started on 24 October 1989, due to clashes during a religious process. Violence continued for 2 months, affecting the Bhagalpur city and 250 villages around it. Over 1,000 people were killed and 50,000 were displaced as a result of the riots . On the 16th of August, 1946, Mohammad Ali Jinnah gave a call to fellow Muslims across India for a “Direct Action Day” on the streets of Kolkata (then Calcutta). Many provocative speeches were made and this resulted in one of the worst massacres in history - the Calcutta Killings. Sword-wielding Islamists went on a killing spree and nearly 10,000 people were killed and up to 15,000 wounded in a span of 3 days.
Rabindranath Dutta recalled the inexplicable violence and brutality that Islamists had unleashed, especially on Hindu women during the 1946 massacre that started with the announcement of ‘Direct Action Day’ by the Muslim League. He reminisced how Islamists hung the naked, butchered bodies of Hindu women from hooks at Kolkata’s Raja Bazar beef shops.
During the massacre, girls studying in Kolkata’s Victoria College were raped, killed and their bodies were tied to hostel windows.
Slaughtered Hindu bodies with pools of blood around his heels during the 1946 Noakhali Riots.
During the 1946 carnage, most Hindu women’s bodies had breasts missing, just black bite marks at those places and the genitals.
How Bengalis have forgotten the atrocities inflicted on them during those days.

Not ruling party ( BJP ) provoked us, actually BJP awaken us that we were being cheated by Congress-Communist- Socialist ( So called Secular Parties ) in name of Secularism which was purely Muslim appeasement policy . Actually Muslims did blunder in mid 80's when they idiotically protested the reconstruction of Ram Mandir. Before this movement, Muslims protested the Supreme Court decision on Alimony ( Shah Bano case ). They violently protested 'Satanic Verses ' so all these protest took place during Rajiv Gandhi regime. Hindu community didn't have much interest in Shah Bano Case & Satanic Verses though it was noticed but protesting Ram Mandir temple hit hard on psyche of Hindu community. There was report of Dr KK Muhammad ( Indian Archaeological Survey ) that Ram Mandir was demolished to construct Babri Masjid but Muslims didn't listen anybody. It was turning point and Hinduo ko akal aa gayi ki unko ab tak secularism ke naam pe afeem chatai ja rahi thi. You know after this movement , Congress could never get Majority in Parliament. Today Congress has been thrown out in dustbin . Wo Hinduo ke khilaf kiye gaye gunaho ki bahut badi keemat chuka rahi hai. Whether you accept it or not but there is problem with Muslims. You can do anything in name of Islam. Bhagalpur 's infamous communal carnage of 1989 was a result of locaL Congress Leader's divisive policy of adding fuel to the existing communal tension; the mission was to dislodge an old , ailing, veteran but dry honest CM and 're-install' a comparatively light weight leader in province who had "earned" CMship earlier through "blessings" of Mrs Gandhi. Late Satyendra Babu had an enviable track record in Bihar ministry dating back to 1960-1967 when Trinity of Binodanand Jha , SN Sinha and KB Sahay called the shots in Bihar politics power hierarchy; each of them established leader and freedom fighter. However, Mr. Sinha~ the natural "Chief ministerial" face of Janata party post anti-emergency movement in 1970s couldn't get his due and during his Twilight years (after more than 4 decades in federal/provincial politics) was fatefully chosen as a counter to fellow V.P. Singh (eventual PM). Unlike, most politicians; he admitted lapses and had voluntary resigned from CMship after general election; the next CM (last Congress CM) oversaw Congress 's permanent departure from majority in Bihar assembly and thus begun an era of Janata Dal (Lalu ji became CM by surprisingly defeating declared CM candidate Ram Sundar Das). Dead can't defend themselves but all those (in power or opposition) deliberately disturbed Peace and incited people across social spectrum, rose to political prominence!
