  • Find a Harley Exhaust on Amazon. I had my reservations but I needed and option for my 2020 Harley Davidson Road Glide Special. I first had the Screamin Eagle Exhaust system, which was okay...Just not loud enough for me. I found this SharkRoad System online and decided to give it a shot. The Harley Davidson Sound is very important. I want to feel like i'm riding a Harley when I'm on the road. Here is a side by side comparison of the Harley Screamin Eagle Exhaust system vs the SharkRoad Exhuast system. Thanks for watching.

I'm 57 and I feel lights are better to get noticed than sound. I've lost 40% of my hearing due to illness and quite frankly stereos and headers are just not on my list for my bike. Mind you, I still have a custom dyna that has half-radius pipes on it. For a 96 ci engine it's loud as snot.

Love love love these pipes. I had a set on my Street Glide Standard (chrome) and had absolutely no issues with them. They sound fantastic. Last week I picked up a new RGS with black finish. The bike came with RCX Components slip-ons (with the slash cut ends, which actually look awesome), and despite that I ordered another set of these Sharkroad "no baffle inside" pipes the same day. They arrive Friday and I'm like a kid waiting on Christmas. Lol. The RCX sound pretty good, just not as loud as I want. So I'll probably sell them, or keep em around in case I decide I want quieter again. I do love the downward slash ends of the RCX... I wish the Sharkroads had exchangeable tips.

I just ordered one of the last Magnaflow slip on exhausts out the. They were on clearance for $450 for 4.5" mufflers (normally like $800 a pair). Magnaflow quit making bike exhausts and will no longer be available after these are gone and they are absolutely the best sounding touring slip on mufflers out there to my ears. Deep and growling with no raspy tinniness. Also a little on the more subdued side for volume, which I want. I'm not into loud just for the sake of being loud. These sound more like a built big block or something... And I love it.

Really great comparison, thanks a lot for making the effort.
I am not sure I'd go for that Amazon exhaust. I have V&H headers with Rineharts 4" on my bike since 4 years now (25k miles) and the pipes are still looking great w/o rust or bluing. The stage II tune was great and the bike runs great. I think that the longer I have the system on my bike, the better it sounds.
Having said that if money is tight, that Amazon exhaust is certainly an option from a sound and looks point of view. Durability on the other hand seems to point to a higher priced name brand.
    Ride safe 🤙

I had a set of Rineharts on another bike. They are killer pipes. No doubt about it, but I also have the Sharks on my Electra Glide which is Stage 1 and 2. After three years, I have not noticed any cosmetic or performance deficiencies. After hearing my pipes, my bro in law took the cobras off his Road King and switched to the Sharks. And he’s way more pickier than me

Nice video. I installed these on my 2020 Road King Special. I did like the sound. My issue with them was a noticeable dip in torque. I replaced them with TAB 4.5 Zombies with Z-Rings and Torque cones. Hits the spot for me. Recently installed Fuel Moto jackpot header. Haven't ridden with it yet. Winter project here in Colorado. Can't wait to give it a test run. Soon I hope. Take care.

Probably not the best example, I have Rinehart True Duals on my 1997 Road King. I love the sound, of course it's 25 years old, 80ish cubic inches, carb'd, with a bolt-in cam and 10:1 compression.
On the Amazon saving money side of things. I bought a pair of extended 2014+ saddlebags for $250. Pre-painted with the new style lids, latches, and hinges already assembled. I didn't know if I could even make them fit on my bike. So I sure wasn't spending $1k at AdvanBlack just to prototype it. In the end, a couple trips to the hardware store and a few hours of bending new brackets is all it took. Now I have a '97 bagger with the new latch/hinge design and a nice extended bag look. The paint is not bad, no chips, no cracks. The material is kinda thin and flexy, but not enough that I feel it's flimsy. I'm very happy with my results but do caution folks, the cheap Amazon/ebay listings are NOT going to be consistent. It's a bit of a gamble.

Running SE Street Cannons on my ‘19 Road Glide Ultra with Stage II. A friend recently bought some Shark Road 4’s for his ‘18 Ultra Limited Low. Shark Roads are definitely louder, but the SE’s make a much beefier low rumble. Fit and finish is definitely better on the SE cans and tips too. I’d definitely spend the money on the SE’s again as it’s clear you get what you pay for with exhaust systems.

Good video. I have factory head pipes, mainly because it's a new bike and still in warranty.( 2021) I put Khrome Werks slip on mufflers on it and ya they are pricey at $700 but now I can hear my bike run. I think it has a decent tone, Noise level is at 89db and mellow, not a harsh crack to it. I'm sure it's going to be louder when I do the head pipes because the cats will be gone. I tend to shy away from the Amazon stuff but they can have good deals at times.

I have 6 exhaust's for my bike. My Thundeheader started rusting to crap within a month and that was $800. I honestly don't care because it sounds amazing along with my RB LSR but you lose a little of that traditional sound with the RB, though it is by far my best performing pipe. I have a 2002 Night Train carbie built so it's got that nice lope. My Screamin Eagle II's ( off road use only ) pre 2003 slip ons are quiet in comparison to the bigger names but much louder than the EPA regulated new M8 SE's. They also produce the best down low torque and have the smoothest street manners out of any of the pipes I have. They have a beautiful traditional sound, with the baffles in. For the most part, I'd say you get what you pay for, except Thunderheader lol but I'd buy another one, it's the lightest pipe I've ever felt. My Trask Assault 2 into 1 is the sexiest pipe I've ever seen but it's crap under 3k rpm, sitting in a box with under 10 hours on it. Super Radius 2 into 2 has a nice potato sound and surprisingly is a decent performing pipe but being ground pounders, the sounds deflects and gets a little fatiguing after a couple long days. I would say overall, the SE II's check's all the boxes but they are heavy. I'll sometimes throw them on for a week or two just to give my ears a break and it feels like a different bike, lot's of down low torque but WFO they feel like they choke up in comparison to the other's, still plenty of giddy up.
If you don't want to spend a lot of dough, buy used, not sure how much is out there but if the price is right, why not. Either way, I think they sound decent and for $300, I'd expect a cheaper product.

Full Throttle HOG, I used to work on tug boats in south Louisiana. We worked in fresh, brackish and salt water so we had to deal with rust. Any time that we saw even a little rust we would wipe it with a dry cloth the use a paint brush to brush on a green liquid by the name of Chem Prime. Let it dry to a white haze, wipe that off with a dry cloth, coat again, let that dry, wipe it off then paint the area. That spot would not rust again. If you have a hardware store in the area the caters to tug boats and/or carries marine paints they should carry Chem Prime or a product like it.

Wonder how the chrome finish would hold up. Rust and fading is a huge deal breaker for me, especially living in the North east where we have salt in the roads during the colder months. I clean my bike religiously but if it's a cheap finish the elements will eventually get to it. My last bike has V&H twin slash cuts and zero issues with the finish. May be worth trying, have to do more research on the chrome ones

One was completely black because you have that V twin set up where only one pipe is getting exhaust. It's not a true 2-1 so you don't get a true 2-1 performance. I put on a $200 kit that makes it a true 2-2 and it's louder, more full and both pipes are putting out exhaust. Both sides get black inside. Also the bike performs more consistent now.

So, I run these slip-ones on my 21 Road Glide. I’m thrilled with them. I haven’t had any finish issues at all, however mine are chrome and about twice a month I clean em with Eagle One’s Never Dull. I have seen other people have that same discoloration at the connection point (in chrome) and it turns out their clamp that is supposed to seal the joint was worn out. Idk if you replaced yours when you installed them or not, but that could be it.

I had Vance and Hines double slash on my last bike and loved them, no problems. But I’m not going to continue to pay a$600- $800 and more for slip on exhaust from big name manufacturers. My screaming eagle black mufflers are rusting, and that faded look on the right side is from the heat of the catalytic converter. My screaming eagle muffler is also fading or turning white in the same area. I just installed a cat less Tab 2-1-2 header to get rid of that heat. I put shark road slipons on my 2020 road king. I was very happy with the sound. Now, less than two years later, the left end cap has pitted on the inside bottom. It’s corrosion, it’s visible, and it looks real bad. I keep my RK looking good, but this can’t be washed away. I’ve written to shark road hoping they will step up, but from what I read on their website, this kind of corrosion is not covered. I guess it’s true, that you get what you pay for.
