- Saw a few versions of this with just the voices flipped and wanted to go a step further. Almost all visuals and audio are from the original short with only a few minor exceptions. I spent way too much time on this.

I love the implication that Chalmers tried to deliberately mislead Seymour with the directions to his house.
i think that’s the implication behind the original line. i wouldn’t be surprised if he gave chalmers purposely bad directions to delay the luncheon for as long as possible.

@@unpopularopinions7407Well, that's debatable. I'd argue that he probably didn't mislead him with the directions, but that they were rubbish as well. In that sense, things went wrong before it even started.

Skinner seemed more comfortable in the Chalmers role than Chalmers did in the Skinner role. Skinner is clearly the better actor.
Of course he'd be more comfortable and Chalmers role cuz he's not the one preparing the food 😂

Skinner has been in that same place. Over and over, for years now, of course he knows.
This is how I'd imagine he'd react, it's not a big deal and Chalmers forces Skinner into these lies because he doesn't know how to react in a reasonably proportional way.
It's especially good cause it sounds like Chalmers wasn't expecting Skinner to be so blunt or calm about it
I like how Chalmers is far more abrasive in his lies and insistences here, it's like instead of the original where Skinner was frantically trying to hide his mistakes from Chalmers, Chalmers is instead bullying Skinner into accepting his statements. And when Skinner catches Chalmers in a lie, he congratulates him rather than being mad since he's a major suck-up to him. Pretty neat, the roles change but the characters still act more or less as they normally would according to their personalities.

I'm actually impressed how this completely warps their personalities. Skinner suddenly becomes this very intelligent man that is so confident he doesn't even feel the need to show it off, having an amicable laugh about Chalmer's ruse. Chalmers becomes an insecure man that needs to hide behind an authority complex.
Feels like some weird alternate universe. Where Skinner is probably actually good at being a principal and is a respected member of society, well Chalmers is this bumbling fool of a superintendent, who somehow got the job.

Skinner is such a good sport. He figures out the lie almost immediately, but simply praises Chalmers for his creativity. The superintendent's pride kept him from admitting to it, which is a shame because Skinner already knew and wasn't mad

Judging by Seymour's joyous expression throughout, he seems thoroughly amused by Chalmers' efforts and continues to play along. Having the time of his life

I love how in this version, Skinner manges to figure everything out, but just carries on like nothing happened.
Okay I know this looks so cheesy but I got to say it's actually pretty impressive to see somebody actually edit this to have the roles reversed. Especially to have it actually be fluently animated at times even though most of time it wasn't. This one needs to go viral. It might not because it's not 2018 when the meme was at its peak, but this is awesome

That's absolutely perfect. Skinner would happily accept anything Chalmers would do in the same situation because he really wants Chalmers to like him as much as he likes Chalmers. Plus, he won that "Biggest Doormat" award over Ned Flanders, so perfectly in character there.

This implies the superintendent moved in with Skinner's mom and kicked him out of the house.
This completely flips the dynamic and yet it's no less charming, that's outstanding. Skinner has no issues with a little white lie for the sake of the luncheon going alright. He's a good sport.

I love that their character traits remain intact even as they perform the opposite actions. Chalmers' lies were so assertive while Seymour's questions seemed more nervous.

I've seen a handful of "switched roles" edits but this one is by far the best.
The word splicing was amazingly done, given how little you had to work with by Chalmers! Even better with the custom animation to showcase the role swap. This is probably one of my favorite Steamed Hams edits of all time.
It's up there with the fallout edit for pure enjoyment

I like how Skinner calls Chalmers "delightfully devilish" when he discovers the trickery- keeping to the concept in the original that the visitor is aware of all the tomfoolery and is just going along with it- but Skinner is sure enjoying himself.
Also impressive editing, you managed to make it sounds pretty natural.
I like how Seymour showed up with an apron on. He apparently took it off to enter the house, the way some people take off their shoes inside. Then he puts it back on at the end when he leaves.

Chalmers (Guest) Is dense, overly serious, gullible while also being very inquisitive, and can settle for lesser answers.
Chalmers (Host) Is controlling, a nervous wreck, and completely fails to fool Skinner.

I love how Chalmers takes a much more direct and assertive approach in defending himself. Meanwhile Skinner is a lot more lenient in his questioning, probably already knows how much Chalmers screwed up, but doesn't want to come off as too aggressive.
