This time of year I'm actually outside more than I am in the summer. I love cool crisp and cold weather and I hate hot muggy weather. Autumn is my favorite time of year and all the fall and winter sabbots are my favorite ones. This time of year is also when I go hiking the most and do all the major yard work that I put off all summer.
@@butterflymuse2707 i love cool and crisp weather too...if only we didn't have still 27⁰c in Madrid, spain...😭 Where is my fall weather damnit, i want to wear a cardigan.
I like that you're cleansing with rosemary! Easily accessible, affordable, dries well, and you can even grow it yourself if you want if you're so inclined. (Rosemary grows like crazy, so you'll always have a bunch!)
I'm so jealous. I have tried growing rosemary outside (it never winters over in my area) and I always kill it as an indoor plant. I want to grow rosemary so bad.
We live in a farming community with a big apple orchard so Mabon is the biggest festival for us. Everyone is out for pretty much all of September gathering apples and other crops. We have a huge feast and eat outside if the weather is nice and press fresh apple cider to drink before the rest is brewed. There is a corn maze and decorations all over and the children have a treasure hunt to find the hidden golden pumpkin. Autumn is the busiest time of the year for us so Mabon is a chance to rest and celebrate and dance and give thanks before we have to get back to preparing all the crops for winter. We actually have a well with an old statue of Modran on it
Hey Hearth, 👋 here in the US we call conkers "buckeyes". It's the state tree of Ohio. The Ohio State University has a man with a giant "conker" as a head for their mascot. His name is Brutus Buckeye. 🤣🤣🤣 Just a little trivia for you. Have a beautiful day everyone. 🤍🍂🍁🎃
I'm setting up my first altar for one of the sabbats, and I'm so happy Mabon is the one I'm starting with! I love autumn, from the weather to the colors. My candles are scentless LEDs for the safety of my cats, and for food I'm making caramel apples!
I’m really enjoying the change in the season so far! I’ve ‘spring’ cleaned my house, re-made my alter, tried baking some new recipes, and have been going on lots of nature walks. So refreshing after all this heat we’ve had in the uk 😊🍄🧚🏻♀️🥰🙏🌰
Mabon was the first holiday I celebrated so it became my favorite but it also became my saddest holiday. My guinea pigs had recently died and I celebrated in the broomcloset alone with them at their graves. Now even though I do. Celebrate samhain and Yule with my close family I still celebrate mabon with my passed pets.
I actually love Mabon! Celebrating autumn and the harvest and just being thankful. It's a very cosy Sabbat and I always look forward to it. I love Samhain too, but that's more spooky and reflective, whereas Mabon is joyous feasting and simply enjoying the new season ☺️
As that awkward middle child myself I have to say I absolutely LOVE your amazing earrings! I feel the power of the sun radiating from them as we approach the autumnal equinox and mabon. Thank you once again!
We will celebrate Mabon as our Sunday Service at our Unitarian Universalist Congregation, including an invitation to all attendees to pass through the portal from light to dark, if they chose.
I agree that your practice changes, but the way it shifts and the timing of the shift depends on where you live. For example, here in California, it's finally cool enough to take walks in the middle of the day (instead of cramming it in the early morning). However, autumn also marks the start of the wildfire season, so once that fully kicks in, we'll be hunkering back down in our rooms to avoid the smoke and ash. And definitely no rain!
I have set my alter up for maben I feel this time of year it's a great time marinating obstacles and letting go things that no longer serve us and a time of gratitude
Thank you, Hearth! I just got married and we have a ton of animals and kids 🤣 it's pure chaos over here.... I'm always looking for simple ways to celebrate and still properly honor the sabbats! I hope your Equinox is everything you want it to be 💜
I absolutely love Mabon, it was the first holiday I celebrated and along with Lammas, it's my favorite. I haven't celebrated it in a while (nor have I celebrated any other holidays since last year) but this gave me a refresher and some lovely ideas on what to do! Thank you!
Oh my goodness, you were a storm witch? That’s a thing??? I’m officially ecstatic now. I live in the Midwestern U.S., and so have an abundance of storms here! Loved the rest of this video too btw, but that particular part just screamed at me! 💕💕
This is my favourite time of year, I can always sense when it's on its way, I too saw my first conker of the season, it was on the floor so I took it home with a few other things that remind me of autumn and placed them on my altar
I’d had a really hard morning and seeing your video pop up in my feed was a nice surprise. I watched it drinking a coffee and having one of my favourite little cakes. It helped me feel a little better. Thank you 🙏
Mabon will always be hugely important to me as it was the first sabbat following my proper and true discovery of paganism. I must admit though that in the last couple of years I have shamefully neglected it mainly due to illness but plan to honour this sabbat in some form this year. Samhain is without a doubt the be all and end all for me and a huge number of others too so I can see where people will dismiss Mabon in preparation or excitement of Samhain. It's a shame as it is a really beautiful and actually more melancholic time I feel.
Samhain is also my favorite Sabbat. That's why I named myself Souwen. (I'm nonbinary) I basically took the pronunciation of Samhain and wrote it in Dutch.
I just dyed my hair bright orange, I’m so glad I got it in time for Mabon! This year my boyfriend and I have a wicker cornucopia and while we don’t feel comfortable using fresh fruits and veg for it, we have some fake ones! We’re planning on setting the cornucopia up on our dining room table! Any ideas on how to keep out cat from messing with it? Love your videos!
If you have some lemon furniture polish or orange oil trying rubbing a bit near your cornucopia on the table. Cats usually don’t like the smell of citrus and will avoid the area. It is safe for them as long as you aren’t chucking buckets of it around.
I used to not care much about Mabon, but it has become one of my favorites as I get older. I like both equinoxes so much because I really feel the changes at those times. Plus, I love to cook and garden so it's all about the harvest for me!
I just got a wicked cool candle holder and a green altar mat specifically for Mabon, its a sabbat very near to my heart as an herbalist and hearth based person, it was the first of the sabbats that I intentionally celebrated! I'm going to try to make a GreenMan face out of clay today so that it can go on the altar and do a deep clean of the house these next few days 😁 thanks for the video, always love your insights! 💕
I am going to watch the sunrise then go on a nature walk, then harvest some rosemary, then give back to nature by giving food to the animals in nature and the plants, then I'm going to make lunch and eat it, then I'm going to dance and sing, then I'm going to make my mabon feast and enjoy it while giving thanks for the bountiful harvest, then I'm going to do a mabon ritual as the sunsets and write down what I'm thankful for and burn it then I'm going to take a ritual bath and get ready for bed as I say goodbye to the summer sun and say hello to the darker season.
I'm Aussie, so Mabon for me is in March. It' also mine and a mates Birthday, so we end up having a a party for that. At this time of year, I'm out in the garden getting everything ready for the growing season and Ostara.
This will be my first celebration. I have no idea what would be best to do. I got a bottle of wine from my dad. I thought I could leave libations for each of the trees in our yard, leave some apples and seeds for the birds and squirrels as a thank you to them. I was going to write down some gratitudes. I plan to go for a walk. I live in the city, but I thought I'd look for fallen leaves, pinecones with which to decorate. If I find some sticks I thought I'd make a small ritual broom for clearing away negativity. I spent all day today cleaning my room. Tomorrow I will clean my sister's room. I don't have anything to burn, but I put some orange essential oil in the water I was cleaning with. I hope that was a good choice. I'm completely new to this but I wish to learn more. Thank you for the video.
I read somewhere once that the first brown acorn you come across that had fallen in your path, pick it up and keep it and it'll bring you luck all season long 🍂🎃 and for the harvest festivals I like to just go to my local woodland with my dog and walk through the autumnal trees, autumn is my favourite season to go out for walks happy Mabon/autumn 🧡
Thanks for your video. I love your reminder that every book is a good one 🖤 📚 I’ve got my altar set up, I’ve made an apple pie, I always do a divination on the day OF the sabbat, and then journaling always... my home has been decorated with pumpkins, fall leaves, and cinnamon and spices as well as candles and essential oils. It’s perfect for Mabon. One Mabon outing I like to do every year is attend the Apple Hill festival in my area. The apple farmers allow various crafters/vendors to come on their farm and sell their goods and wares. I always like to find some hand made Yule gifts there. 🍏 🍎 🍁
I am working on my mabon altar. I already switched out the crystals and I’m collecting acorns, I’ll get some apples, and decorate with those. I have a major disease so I never know if I’ll be well that day but if I am, I’m going to harvest all the herbs I grew and dry them :) a simple walk in the evening would also be nice after a nice dinner.
I think Mabon is one of my favourite times to celebrate ❤ I never had a seasonal altar because of cats and dogs being around the house but I think I just figured out a spot that’s safe for them and good for me! So I’ll give that a go ☺️ I’ll also try and go out and pick some sticks and straw and wheat and do a lil wreath - that’s ambitious for me as I end up not often following up on this ideas but I’ll try 😊😊 Thank you for the video 🧡
I work at a museum by the south shore of Lake Superior. Since we live in such a large forest I plan to collect pine cones. I also am getting cranberries and wild rice from the Objibawa tribe. A lot of the food you mentioned was brought by the Native people of North and South America: pumpkin, squash, chocolate
i love your videos, even being seasoned it serves as a reminder to not forget about my spirituality, and inspirational tid bits that i might not have done before :) this year im baking a pumpkin loaf out of home grown pumpkins! 🧡 beautiful earrings btw ✨️
Thank you for inspiring me to set up an altar for Mabon. This is truly one of my favorite times of the year, so I would love to show my gratitude to Mother Earth. I laughed when you mentioned Pumpkin Spice! I find that the older I have become, I don't care for the overly sweet taste, but I also have one or two a season just to kick off Autumn and all the cozy goodness that comes with it!
Yess, they always have good deals on the candles at Tj/Tk Maxx, my fav place to purchase candles! Scent for me is a MUST to honor and celebrate the seasons! Happy Autumn Equinox and Mabon to everyone!🕯
Thanks Hearth for yet another inspiring video! Autumn is my favourite time of the year and so Mabon and Samhain have a special place in my practice. Celebrating Mabon late this year as I was unfortunately ill last week. I usually focus on honouring the earth element with the themes of grounding, balance and gratitude. And definitely planning to shifting from salads and lighter veg to more hearty meals! ^^
I am looking forward to the cooler times that comes as autumn arrives. Thank you for reminiscing and reminding me and for sharing so many great ideas. You are a gifted teacher. Blessings to you!❤
Love that you expressed that practices change and flow like the seasons. I associate as an eclectic green witch I naturally ground when working in my garden and with my plants - indoor or outdoor, but I live in a region that gets very hot in the summer - so I will do more in the kitchen, thus I associate with a kitchen witch during this time as I'm cooking new recipes or working more with my herbalism - which can fall under either category. Blessed Be!
One day I will remember to gather & study up BEFORE the dang day of!!!! This is significant to me rn bc I Have to walk away from my family....again. The way it came about😢💔 my journey took a lil painful detour but soon I Will be doing the things I want & need & leaving the rest in the dust. TY for creating these posts I have learned a lot❤
First time on this channel! First time celebrating Mabon too. I realized I had already collected a jar of acorns and scenting my home with fall scents- it’s fun to realize that we naturally gravitate towards these things too ❤ Thank you for your video! Excited to do a mabon altar, use rosemary, and start preparing for Samhain
It's getting to be my favorite time of year. I luv the rain and I often wonder what are the best workings to do during a thunder and lightning storm? You can literally feel the power 🌧.
Hi hi! thank you for another fantastic video, your altar looks great. The candle probably smells great. I love that brand of candle if you can find the lavender chamomile scent it’s AMAZING!!
Getting all those last minute apple trees in and perennials for spring. Spreading seeds from all the heirlooms I have planted in spring. Hard work that makes you sweat is perfect for when the weather turns a bit cooler. All those tasks that can be a bit more challanging do a bit better with the help of the spirits ect... Pumpkin muffins with heavy spices are my go to for the fall... on the verge of winter I love bread baking. Oven is on most of the day warming the house ect throught out the day. Work with the amazing new gifts coming in. Working with elements rather than despite them or against them. Scorpio stellium so this is my favorite time of year. The culmination of all the hard work and lessons learned and cuddling up with contentment and beauty of death of old making the way for the new.
Love MABON and love your style. Blessed be to the magickal prosperity around this time and you are an example how to withdraw successfully positive energy. Altar is reflecting the witch and this is high and mighty. Take care sister)0(
Morning i'm starting to be kitchen witch & working on my divination witch working with spirits channeling & messages and my first year celebrating mabon which im wear the colors and put colors in my work space to celebrate mabon thank for sharing this video
I have a garden in my back yard with an old oak tree. And we are going garden beds now for next year. Harvesting are plants like pumpkin , tomatoes, sage ,mints and plants.
Hi. I loved your video. I've neglected Mabon always, too, but this year I want to celebrate it. I've had a few hard months and a celebration where calming down and do introspection is on the agenda is what I need right now. An aspect I miss a little in your video is thankfulness. For me that's an important part of a harvest festival. The past year has been one of loss and change for me. My mother died, I've ended a long time relationship and changed my job. On Mabon I want to focus on what I gained this year and what I have in my life that I'm thankful for. I'll set up a small altar, fumigate and do a little farewell ritual for my mother.
Thabk you very much for some helpful tips! I am going to do as much Gaia work as possible. I plan on doing outside rituals only and cook hearty food with my family. I also will be changing my color scheme wardrobe.
Mabon is the only time of year I get to go outside at all 😂 In Japan the summers are like 100°F+/38°C on some days (& there are also hornets the size of small birds 😅🤣) so I just hang out inside til autumn lol Been going outside a lot more recently and loving it 😍
love Mabon same as you Mabon gets left a little but im foraging black berrys n making a blackberry n apple cake. n focusing on getting cosy getting house winter ready lots of candles n blankets soups n stews in Electric couldren(slowcooker lol)
My Nana passed this morning. However it is interesting that Mabon is about harvest I think I need to make a kitchen Alter. I think Grandma (my great grandmother) told my Nana it is ok to let go, and they were always cooking. It does warm me up thinking of their food. Everything is also talking about the end of an Era or chapter and well Samhain is the new year. 🧡
could you make a video talking about "the veil" between worlds? ive seen the take that there isn't actually a veil at all that separates this world and the other world, that the other world is woven together with this world like a tapestry. where instead of trying to see the "other side" you learn to see/feel the strings and fibers that are right here all around you. i already have the belief that doing mundane things can have magical effects and vice versa, so it makes sense to me. I'd also like a video on the concept of the "higher self" and if it's different than your best self? like, just you if everything in your life was going your way, with less stress and obstacles.
I work in a park so I'm outside 3 days a week no matter the weather lol it gives me time to appreciate the changing of the seasons (even when it snows... And I hate the snow XD)
I founded a witchcraft club at my university. An equinox celebrations is going to be our first event of the semester. I'm so excited
This time of year I'm actually outside more than I am in the summer. I love cool crisp and cold weather and I hate hot muggy weather. Autumn is my favorite time of year and all the fall and winter sabbots are my favorite ones. Me too! I can't deal with the heat and humidity, so I'll do all the things I need to get done in the fall when it's cool
The sun pan-sears my alabaster flesh
I hate the summer heat feels like im in a desert 🏜
@@butterflymuse2707 i love cool and crisp weather too...if only we didn't have still 27⁰c in Madrid, spain...😭 Where is my fall weather damnit, i want to wear a cardigan.
Same for me, but because I live in a place where it's insanely hot in the summer. It'll finally be a tolerable temperature again 🙏
I like that you're cleansing with rosemary! Easily accessible, affordable, dries well, and you can even grow it yourself if you want if you're so inclined. (Rosemary grows like crazy, so you'll always have a bunch!)
Yup, and it's actually beneficial to regularly trim rosemary, so clipping a bit for your magickal practice is just part of taking care of the plant!
We actually have a well with an old statue of Modran on it
I wish I lived in that kind of community, where I live is full of a huge amount of "holier than thou" Christians.

Love your look and this video! Thank you darlin :)
I love your videos, I'm so happy that you have this CZcams channel. I think that for this Maban im going meditate and reach out to my higher self.
Oh my gosh you look so pretty!! I haven't watched yet, I just had to pause and comment this! Absolutely stunning.
What I like are all the options and possibilities that you offer. It gives us so many different ways to celebrate.
Blessed Be!
Love your videos 😍
Hi! I’m new to your channel & am enjoying your videos. Thank you for all the information you provide!
I have grown my own Conker trees from conkers we collected and now it provides me with beautiful conkers in my garden x
I just love ❤️ your videos! Thank you 😊 for all your hard work ! Love 💗 to you from Boise Idaho !
First time on this channel! First time celebrating Mabon too. I realized I had already collected a jar of acorns and scenting my home with fall scents- it’s fun to realize that we naturally gravitate towards these things too ❤
Thank you for your video! Excited to do a mabon altar, use rosemary, and start preparing for Samhain
Blessed be Lady Hearth. Love and light to you. Hope your Mabon and Sawain is fun and blissful. Merry meet your grace. 🧙♀️✌️🌹

Thank you, beautiful soul!
Happy Mabon!
Hugs from Arizona
It's getting to be my favorite time of year. I luv the rain and I often wonder what are the best workings to do during a thunder and lightning storm? You can literally feel the power 🌧.
love the earrings!
Blessed Mabon to you!
Hi hi! thank you for another fantastic video, your altar looks great. The candle probably smells great. I love that brand of candle if you can find the lavender chamomile scent it’s AMAZING!!
Got lots of great ideas 💡
Take care sister)0(
¡Gracias!
Morning i'm starting to be kitchen witch & working on my divination witch working with spirits channeling & messages and my first year celebrating mabon which im wear the colors and put colors in my work space to celebrate mabon thank for sharing this video
You are speaking my language with the hot cocoa !
Thank you for this valuable information. Not related but love your earrings!!!
Love the earrings 😍
Thabk you very much for some helpful tips!
I am going to do as much Gaia work as possible. I plan on doing outside rituals only and cook hearty food with my family. I also will be changing my color scheme wardrobe.
i also forgot about mabon till i saw this, love the earrings
Thanks Hearth
So cool! Just learning about this and love to hear there is weather witchcraft 😊 my son is obsessed with tornadoes and storms and clouds …
I love this time of year cause the humidity starts to dip down and it’s not blazing hot. However no acorns. That’s spring time for me.
Ok I LOVE that altar
Mabon is the only time of year I get to go outside at all 😂 In Japan the summers are like 100°F+/38°C on some days (& there are also hornets the size of small birds 😅🤣) so I just hang out inside til autumn lol Been going outside a lot more recently and loving it 😍
Thank youuu
love Mabon same as you Mabon gets left a little but im foraging black berrys n making a blackberry n apple cake. n focusing on getting cosy getting house winter ready lots of candles n blankets soups n stews in Electric couldren(slowcooker lol)
Hi Hearth! You are one of my favorite youtubers! ♡ Would you mind sharing what song was playing during your altar set up? I love it!
Love and light. Fancy incense, check. Alter ready, check. Watched Hearth, check. Ready for Mabon. ❤
Gentle fyi....altar........ not alter
I love that lipstick you're wearing 😊
WoW !! Awesome 🎆 Amazing 😃👌
could you make a video talking about "the veil" between worlds? ive seen the take that there isn't actually a veil at all that separates this world and the other world, that the other world is woven together with this world like a tapestry. where instead of trying to see the "other side" you learn to see/feel the strings and fibers that are right here all around you. i already have the belief that doing mundane things can have magical effects and vice versa, so it makes sense to me.
