Two MUST HAVE Accessories for your Antique Tractor

Old tractors can be a great addition to the farm, but they can have some serious design and safety limitations. I go over two different accessories that are inexpensive, but huge value adds to your farm tractor:
1. Overdrive clutch, which helps prevent a PTO implement from pushing your tractor, and
2. sway bars which help keep your implement centered or at least from swinging side to side. Depending on the year, your tractor may already be fitted with one or both of these. *Note: Newer tractors frequently have sway chains, not sway bars
Note: A third accessory, and one I can't believe that I forgot to mention, would be adding Roll Over Protection, or ROPS for short. This is a much more expensive upgrade but can easily save your life in case of a rollover or tip of the tractor. We farm on very flat ground so its not quite as important but still recommended. Some states will provide funding to retrofit tractors with ROPS.

Yea chickens are wifes pleasure. I love the fresh eggs but as much pleasure as it brings her I don't care what it costs...... not even to mention she sells chicks in the spring to offset the cost.....

Hi. Thanks for the video and the info on the live PTO and the remedy for that. Quick question. When you are talking about your stabilizer bar and how it push your implement to the left (offset as you called it). I noticed that with your stabilizer bracket, the flat side is on the outside and not the inside. With the bracket in that position, wouldn't that cause a greater angle and that is what is pushing the implement to the left and not the length of the bar? If you flipped that around with the flat side on the inside of the tractor, would that decrease the angle and move your implement back to center?

roll cage might be number 3?
