  • Demo video of the cheap and cheerful Mosky DTC 4 in 1 pedal along with an Ammoon Nano Chorus.
    Can you go boutique on the cheap? Will this thing really replace my Boss board full of Keeley modded pedals?
    Watch and find out.
    Effectively my "standard pedal board" combination of effects in two boxes.

    Hi Steve bought the DTC after watching your review. Pleased with it so far can't complain for the money

    Hi.. Planning to get this.. Is the distortion high or heavy enough for metal or heavy style music?

    Got exactly the same setup. Great value. Check out the Mosky Brown which is a great distortion pedal for not much money.

      I put them on a cheap bamboo chopping board with adhesive velcro, went and bought a stompbox tuner for less than Fifteen bucks to add to them.
      I haul them about in an old laptop sleeve. Total board cost is about US$80 to date 'cos I have the power supply, daisy chain, velcro, feet and cables hanging about already.
      It's great, but I wait to see how long it lasts.

    hey, will a normal speaker(not for guitars) have the effects if we use the DTC 4 in 1?

    • @omikl
      @omikl  Před 5 lety

      Unfortunately not. It contains no speaker emulation, so you'd need some sort of DI box and speaker emulator if you were to run directly into a PA system.
      These can be bought quite inexpensively these days. I recently bought a Mooer Micro DI for this purpose.

    A Boss noise supressor could be conected to this 4in1pedal?

    • @omikl
      @omikl  Před 5 lety

      I guess so.
      I’ve never used an NS-1 though. All I know about them is what I learned from “That Pedal Show”’s noise gate episode 😎

  • @smittenthekitteninmittens2679

    what power adapter does this need?...just got one and think it's not going to come with one (im in the UK)

      @omikl  Před 4 lety +1

      Just a standard 9V power supply.

      @@omikl hey it says it needs a regulated 9vdc with center neg polarity..are you sure a normal supply won't kill me at worst at best give me a bad hiss?

    • @omikl
      @omikl  Před 4 lety

      I'm just using any old 9V centre negative power supply I have to hand: One Space, Danelectro Zero Hum, Ibanez, Mosky's own cheapos. All work now problem.

      Is this the kind of loop that can be used as a rythem guitar

  • @InTheSh8
    @InTheSh8 Před 6 lety +1

    Hi, do you know if the OD is chained after the distortion? This'd be a design flaw since you can't really boost the distortion section as you would do with an OD in front of a real amp. The distortion sounds really good btw.

    • @omikl
      @omikl  Před 6 lety +1

      Andreas Nold The Overdrive is chained after the distortion.
      As this is the way I tend to st my pedal boards up I don't consider it to be a problem.
      Having taken a look inside the box, modifying this pedal to allow for a choice in the routing would be tricky as it's all built on a single PCB

    • @InTheSh8
      @InTheSh8 Před 6 lety

      Oh yes, indeed would be tricky. But actually (the more I think about it), it'd still be fun to put your favorite distortion pedal into the loop which sits in-between the OD and Delay section. You could then use the OD to boost your favorite distortion and use delay with it and still have a minimal hassle with cables and stuff lying around. Plus you could use the DIST section as a crunch-channel or even use it as different voiced boost for your distortion pedal in the loop. It surely opens some nice routing options.
      Did you try a distortion pedal in the loop?

    • @omikl
      @omikl  Před 6 lety +1

      Andreas Nold Not yet. I just stuck them both on a bamboo chopping board, added an equally cheap mini tuner to the front and called it a pedal board 😎

    • @omikl
      @omikl  Před 6 lety

      I also ordered the Tone Make Station from the same manufacturer, which is the same.set up but with a Marshall JCM800 based amp.simulator in place of the distortion section and a switchable treble boost in place of the overdrive.
      I'll dime that when I get the time!

      That's how the Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde is configured and it's pretty popular.
      I run an OCD into an AC Booster and it works like gangbusters. That's similar to Distortion> Tubescreamer

  • @paulhiso3420
    @paulhiso3420 Před 6 lety

    how to use the loop?

    • @omikl
      @omikl  Před 6 lety

      It's a simple true bypass loop that allows the insertion of one or more pedals into the signal chain between the overdrive and the delay.

    • @paulhiso3420
      @paulhiso3420 Před 6 lety

      but not the other loop that can save the played rhythm and then make some solos?

    • @omikl
      @omikl  Před 6 lety

      No. It doesn't have that type of looper built in.
