Great job Charlie. I thought it was a risky performance. She already killed it on the Wish Bus and decided to take it in a completely NEW direction. She also took it into the world of a cappella which is another genre. For such a young artist she is showing NO fear of taking her gift in any direction. Listen to her version of Defying Gravity...stunning. How many artists are willing to challenge themselves like this?!? We are seeing the first steps in the evolution of a great artist....wait til Covid is over!
I totally agree with you! Let's not also forget Morissette doing an a cappella version/cover of Driver's License, a tour de force performance of an artist who is not afraid to explore all musical types and genres. And that's who Morissette is!
This was a masterpiece, and one of the reasons why Morissette is now one of my favorite singers, and Adonis Tabanda is a bad ass. He came up with this arrangement, as well as singing the vocal bass and percussion parts.

It’s a brilliant interpretation for sure. She’s done a lot of work with 3rd Ave and Adonis Tabanda (her musical director) is a key member of that group. If you search 3rd Ave there’s a live performance of them featuring Morissette that I’m sure you will also enjoy and it gives an insight into their relationship. Well done mate👍

I suggest that you see Morissette's video "Moon River"/"Usahay" mash-up. It's such a relaxing rendition of an Audrey Hepburn song and an old Cebuano song (another Filipino language, yes we have a lot, including dialects). You can react to it or just see it at your leisure time. It's such an eargasm.

@@maridunlop4593 I'm comfortable singing opera (I was trained a century ago) and ballads (like this one) but I know I still don't have the technique mastered that's why I've never joined singing contests or sang professionally. Just me, the shower, my room, the living room, and karaoke bars. I miss singing in an open karaoke place...

When Mori does covers of other songs, she kills it. But when she comes out with an original song, it's so much tailored exclusively to her style, it's very hard to cover in a way that will outdo her rendition. There's a rumor (yeah ok; probably JUST a joke) of someone who was rushed to the hospital due to breathing problems. The patient apparently tried to sing Mori's "Akin Ka Na Lang" exactly like Mori did. Result? Boom! ...Hospital emergency room 😁
