AKIN KA NA LANG was pretty good ... just remember FILIPINO VOWELS are ALL OPEN VOWELS like Spanish or Italian vowels, pretty straightforward, all read/pronounced ONE WAY ONLY - in this case "A" as in "A"meric"A" and "I" as in "I"ndia ... yeah you did really well ...

Actually, it is my understanding that the vowel sounds of a, e, i, o, u, are pronounced ah, eh, ee, o, oo. Keeping that in mind, akin ka na lang would be ahkeen kah nah lahng. "a" in America would be an "uh" sound, making it "Uh"meric"uh". "I" as in "India", is not a vowel sound in Filipino, as it is pronounced in "India", except for the second "i". This is not to say that Filipinos don't pronounce English or other language words using their respective vowel sounds, depending on their proficiency at speaking those languages. 🙂

Lol. I thought she would make a good mermaid too when I first saw this video. You should check out the covers she did during (covid) lockdown. Her acapella version of Rise Up with Third Avenue was even better than the wishbus one. She also did Fly Like a Bird, a broadway songs series, etc. Definitely check them out even if you do not do a reaction. Morisette put out so much during lockdown.

AKIN KA NA LANG is a Filipino phrase which means PLEASE BE MINE. The song is about a love of a woman that is unrequited by a man of her dreams.
