      @@LightsLuck- Prices are identical.
      HP's business laptops have "fake price" listed on the site, the _Real_ selling price is usually exactly half the official msrp so you can assume around $1800 USD for the 3060 model. Unlike XPS, there's a mDP port on the ZBook that allows the dGPU to connect directly into external monitors, which is an essential feature for lots of 'Pros'. Plus I don't enjoy the typing feel on the redesigned XPS keyboard, it's too shallow and flat. So overall, the ZBook Studio is the superior laptop of the two for the same price.

    Ok, the HP sounds waaaaaaaaaaaay better then the xps does. Also, love the keyboard. It has the home, end, pgup, and pgdown keys without having to press the function key. But it still has the half height arrow keys for up and down, which I don't like.

  • @rustler08
    @rustler08 Před 2 lety +8

    This is a really good looking laptop, and those bezels are amazing. However, a 3070 doesn't mean anything in a platform that constantly thermal throttles. That's the big reason the XPS only has a 3050, because they've figured out it really doesn't make sense to slap in huge GPUs that sit at 80 degrees after 30 seconds.
    So, I'm VERY curious to see if this thing has the brawn to back up the looks, or if it just dies a death after like 20-30 minutes of gaming. Also, that metal chassis=hot palms. The XPS uses carbon fiber, which basically never gets hot. So, that's another win right there.

    • @DanKaschel
      @DanKaschel Před 2 lety +5

      I love me an RJ45 as well, but it’s definitely negotiable. In my use case (and probably most others), my laptop spends most of its time docked either at work or at home, so the dock can have all the ports. On the road, I don’t need Ethernet all that often (though I do carry a mini usb-c hub with nic+hdmi).
      You need what you need, I just don’t think it’s necessarily representative of the needs of the majority.

    Had a Zbook G6 but HP throttles the CPU's power limits to keep it cool and have a better battery life. I moved to a Precision 7560 which is not as good looking and a little heavier than the ZBook but performs much better for actual work.
