  • So long Genie+. Hello Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Up to July 23, guests will still be able to utilize Genie+ inside My Disney Experience app. Starting July 24 guests be using Disney's newest Lightning Lane tool, Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is replacing the current Genie+ tool and has been named such to better distinguish how it helps guest. You might describe Multi Pass as what it would look like if Genie+ and Fast Pass had a baby.
The new tool reminds us of Fast Pass because you will have the chance to make multiple lightning lane selections 7 days before checking into your resort. It looks like Genie+ because you will purchase and book the selections within the My Disney Experience app.
    1. Multi Pass will now allow guest to book 3 lightning lanes up to 7 days before check-in if you are a guest staying at a Walt Disney World resort property. Guest with dated ticket staying off property will be able to book 3 days in advance.
    2. On the day you’re booking window opens you will be able to purchase and book for each day you are in the park. However, the purchase and selection of each day will be done in a separate transaction.
    3. When selecting three lightning lanes in advance guest will be able to choose one of their selections from group 1 and the remaining two selections from group 2. Pause on the next screen to see the breakdown of those selections.
    4. This may be one of the best things about the new multi pass and single past tools. On your day of booking, guests will be able to make all three multi pass selections and both single pass selections with associated ride times prior to making your payment transaction for that day.
    SINGLE PASS
Essentially Single Pass is Individual Lightning Lanes that you will now be able to purchase and select in advance. These include one or two of the most popular rides at each park that can be purchased singularly. These rides will not be included as options within Multi Pass. Pause on the next screen to review what those current options are in the summer of 2024.
    PREPARING
    1. Download the my Disney experience app from your app store and utilize your Disney login.
    2. Verify that your friends and family who are traveling with you are all properly connected and sharing management of their plans within the app.
    3. Verify that your resort and ticket package are connected to your plans and listed correctly. If you are unsure, connect with your Vacationeer travel advisor for help.
    4. Add your payment information to your profile. This will be essential in helping you make your lightning lane purchase for each day efficiently. For example, if you have a 7 day park ticket and want to book lightning lanes in advance for each of the seven days, you will grow quickly tired of entering your credit card information for each of those day’s transactions.
    5. Double check your dining reservations. If you have a character breakfast at Crystal Palace at 9 AM, you don’t want to accidentally schedule Jungle Cruise at the same time.
    6. This is specific to the guest using lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass on July 24. Wake up early and make sure you have checked for updates to your my Disney experience app. You will want to go into your phones app store and update anything that might be associated with your Disney app. To the best of our knowledge, Disney is making the hard launch on the new tool on July 24. This means that the software changes made within the app during the transition from the 23rd to the 24th may need an update on your phone. So, check your App Store for updates just to be safe.
    Booking Selections
    1. At 7 AM we are going to locate the lightning lane multi pass tool at the top of the homepage where Genie plus is currently located or on a new tile at the top of the menu page.
    2. Select your date and theme park.
    3. Select if you will be purchasing multi pass, single pass, or both.
    4. You will be able to set up three multi pass options and up to two single pass options. With your three multi pass options remember that one can be chosen from group one and the remaining two from group 2 or you can choose to select all three multi passes from group 2.
    5. From here you can proceeded to check out and process your transaction for all advance Lightning Lane selections for that day.
    6. If you were planning to utilize lightning lane multi pass and single pass for the remainder of your trip, you will repeat this process for each of your ticket dates.

So you can’t schedule Single/ Individual lightening lanes at different parks if you have the hopper feature ahead of time??

You can only schedule the advance ones in your first park of the day. Once in the park and replacing your used lightning lanes, you should be able to select for your next park if desired.

If we are staying on property (checking in on July 23rd) and going to our first park on July 24th, will we be able to access the necessary tools to be able to make reservations 7 days prior?

Unfortunately, no. With the launch on the 24th, this means that you will not be making ANY selection through the multi pass tool until the 24th. So that morning at 7am, you will be able to choose for that day AND 25, 26, 27, etc.
