  • In this video tutorial, I will show you how to format cells in Libre Office Calc 6.
Spreadsheet cells can contain different types of information such as:
    Dates
    Number Values
    Text Values
    Percentages
    Currency Values
It is important to understand how to format cell correctly in LibreOffice Calc.
When cells are formatted correctly the data entered will display in the correct format.
You can also change how data is displayed depending on the chosen format, for examples, currently, values may contain a "£" or "$" sign.

Thanks for posting. What you show works on most things I do. I downloaded a sheet, from the UK Government, and it would not calculate a column of numbers. I checked and the numbers were set to text. I changed them to numbers but it's as if the sheet did not recognise them as numbers either giving me a 0 or Error message. Checked, and the format is set as mumbers. Ever seen this before? I think it must be a setting - but worth asking.
Your instructions work just fine on everything else. Thank you.

Hi, I need to add a country code to a list of phone numbers but I can't make it happen. Any advice?

In first column add your country codes, seconds column add your phone numbers, set both columns to text values.
In thrid column use the following formula
      =A1&B1
Use can use the following if you want space between county code and phone number
      =A1&" "&B1
