We helped our customer find this very clean 1968 Chevrolet Malibu Sport Coupe as an anniversary present for her husband. We had it shipped to the V8 Speed and Resto Shop for some maintenance, and surprised her husband with the car when completed. The car is wearing a wide variety of options, including power steering and brakes, factory tilt wheel, in-dash tachometer, air conditioning, remote trunk release, power windows, rear sway bar, and more. Our team performed some basic maintenance on the car, and it soon returned for some updates, like Global West tubular front suspension. It drives amazingly, and has the right look, and a great story!

Understated coolness! And with a gift like that, it’s no wonder he stayed with her - that’s a great woman to go along with a great car. May they enjoy it for many years to come.

My best friend in high school got a 1970 Malibu with the original 350 in it in 1985, I had a 1982 Yamaha XS400 Seca with one major flaw, it had the 85mph max speedometer. One night I asked my buddy to pace me on the 710 freeway in Los Angeles, I thought I was maxed out in 6 gear, but it turns out I was at redline in 5th gear when my buddy pulled along side me and we looked at each other and he left me in the dust from 110mph. ;-)

Beautiful car ! I drive a 66 SS but next to the 66 my favorite Chevelle is the 68 .Years ago I tried to buy a 68 SS . It was very unusual . It had 427 badges , instead of hood pins it had key holes on each side of the hood and the seats had the Chevy bowties long way interlocked in the center part of the bucket seats . Has any one out there ever seen these options ? It was sitting under a tree rusting away . The owner told me he bought the car new in New Jersey and driven it for years until the engine locked up . It wasn't for sale . Checked back a few times and then it disappeared . I know one of them stories !

That is a nice well optioned car. I would have to have that 327 warmed up though. Not the grunt of a big block in factory form. But, you could make it go.

Beautiful Chevelle ! Who cares if it's not an SS. !! I love the plain jane look of this car - no huge rims with skinny side wall tires ! Not that I don't like those, I do, but not on this one.! It will be a reliable car for years to come. From one Kevin to another, thanks. ! Love the channel !

My older brother bought a 68 Malibu it was silver looking with black vinyl top he had it painted dark green with metal flake , new black vinyl top ,air shocks , chrome slots all way around with 9 or 10 inche wide on 50s in back , rebuilt the 327 top to bottom with new clutch, pressure plate , throw out bearing. It was really sharp Chevelle his best friend bought a dark green 72 monte Carlo with 402 big block and 400 trans with black vinyl top and my brother raced just one time an it was against the monte Carlo through the quarter mile that Chevelle smoked the Monte Carlo bad I'm sure his 4 speed helped him with the 327 . The Monte Carlo was brand new they just graduated high school.

That's one beautiful Malibu. If I ever got that lucky, I think I would try to keep it as stock looking as possible but swap in a TH350 or 400, find front buckets/console.....and the 327 could easily be turned into even more of a beast.
I owned one of these. I remember it took a bit to get going, but had massive mid-range. It also sounded great compared to any modern day equivalent.
Favorite memory, college years, riding home for Christmas 1980, nonstop from Madison WI to NY. As daylight approached in eastern PA, it started snowing hard on I-80,, but we had good snow tires and a lot of weight in the car. It was stable as a rock going 80 mph towards NYC in the snow, got us home in great shape, ready for a nice long break. I still remember the deep growl of the 327 that day, the smell off the little green tree air freshener, what it felt like to climb into my childhood bed at 8a that morning.
    Where has the time gone?
There were other trips.....NY to Baltimore and back in March 1981. No trouble keeping up on I-95, going around the trucks.....the 327 really kicked ass as a daily.
I also had a beater of a 72 Chevelle wagon, 350..... these 2 were my favorite cars ever, until a little 2007 Honda came into my life in May 2017. Story for another day.
I hope this white beauty brings lots of great memories to its new owners.

@@V8TV everyone has their own opinion. I personally think it's a waste of a beautiful car and a sweet ride: it dearly needs a TR-6060 swap.
