And we cared enough to click on it. Not all of their podcasts get the same views and if this got 0 views they wouldn't talk[or at least POST about it] so uhhhhhhh nah that comment is right. I guarantee you there’s not a “real” boxer on this planet that would lose to Jake Paul. Like someone who boxes full time professionally with a professional record, there’s no way it would happen. Jake Paul has decent ability, but none of that can surpass literal decades of training that these guys put themselves through. No, if Jake Paul is smart, he’ll crush cans for years on end.

Listen fellas, I was a die hard, traveling, filming, sponsored skateboarder for 11 years, and was never ever able to be considered “amateur”. I filmed with skate shops and made insane video parts and was known as the best around. That DID NOT MAKE ME A PROFESSIONAL SKATEBOARDER. Exactly like being a pretty good boxer, doesn’t make you a proffesional boxer.
If you want to become professional, you’re joining the league, and climbing the ranks just like everyone else. DOESNT MATTER IF YOU WIN A COUPLE FIGHTS WITH RANDOMS, they aren’t even boxers! How the hell does this guy think the word professional fits him at all? He is a beginner that is showing potential, end of story. Maybe when hes 29 years old and has knocked out countless amazing BOXERS, including people at the top of the league, and win a professional title, then, you will indeed be a professional.
As soon as you start fighting and winning against real boxers, you can enter the “amateur” tier. Long way to go to be pro buddy. Money doesn’t make you a pro.

Just to give some context on Ben Askren:
People are wondering how Jake Paul could have beaten a former professional fighter, and it's a legitimate query. The thing is, if any professional fighter was going to lose to Jake Paul in a boxing match, it would be Ben Askren.
For context, Ben Askren is a former collegiate NCAA wrestler, and he was, and I'm sure still is VERY good. He started his professional career in Bellator FC and crushed everybody. He looked like a literal world killer and the whole time, Ben was trying to get into the UFC. And people were watching Ben dominate in Bellator and were beginning to ask "Hey, why isn't this guy in the UFC?" Because obviously, the UFC was where the best MMA talent in the world fought. Now to give you an idea of what Bellator is like, their roster's skill level when compared to the UFC is like low mid to low high. The best fighters they have are usually people who washed out of the UFC. Bellator is well known for having a history of "Freak Fights" where they make these insane matchups that don't make a lot of sense but are guaranteed to sell tickets. Like pitting two fifty-year-old men who fought in the first UFC fight against each other, or Kimbo Slice (RIP) vs Dada 5000 (RIP), two obese streetfighters. That's not to say that they can't put together a decent show, and have decent fights, there's plenty of good fights that came out of Bellator, but it was quite obvious that some of these guys just weren't at the skill level of people in the UFC.
Nevertheless, Ben Askren went undefeated in Bellator against some pretty decent guys. He was deemed unbeatable and had god-level wrestling skills. His specialty was taking people to the mat and suffocating them with punches. However, sometimes he would win in the most boring way, which was wrestling someone to the ground, and essentially lying on top of them and keeping them on the mat for three rounds, which is obviously "dominating your opponent" and it wasn't very fun to watch. He was criticized for having little to no standup striking ability: he couldn't punch or kick for shit. And I see you now scratching your head because you're looking at Ben Askren's Sherdog page and you see that he has some knockout wins. These are because he used what's called ground-and-pound, aka. wrestling the guy to the ground and hitting them until the ref says yeah you got that. Not all knockouts are the same. People who get ground and pounded usually cant defend themselves on their back.
Anyway, after stringing together an undefeated record in Bellator, he decided to go fight in Asia in ONE FC, now called ONE Championship. ONE is a Singapore-based MMA league, and in terms of talent and overall skill, I'd say it's pretty par for the course with Bellator: low mid to low high. A thing about ONE FC is that their testing for steroids is not that stringent. There were people in ONE who looked like musclebound juicy little sluts that didn't pass the steroid eye test. Watch Ben Askren's fight against Nikolay Aleshkin and you can see the audacity of the steroid testing in ONE. But Askren fought some juicy sluts and beat those juicy sluts, and he eventually won the ONE Welterweight belt. And again, the question arose of "Hey why isn't this guy in the UFC?" And Ben Askren was pulling hard to get into the UFC as well. And due credit to Ben Askren, he looked unstoppable in ONE. He was a wrestling god, doing pretty much the same thing that he did in Bellator, but against what I consider much better fighters. He owned Singapore for a while: I actually trained under Ben Askren in Evolve MMA in Singapore, he taught me a little wrestling.
Then, Askren beat Shinya Aoki, his Evolve MMA teammate, who is one of the literal greatest grapplers of all time, one of the best Jiu-Jitsu fighters of all time, and pioneered not just the sport, but the martial art of Jiu-Jitsu itself when applied to MMA. Ben Askren beat Shinya in the first round: Shinya pulled guard and tried to bring Askren to the ground, to put a submission on him, but Askren is a god on the ground obviously and defended himself well. He ground and pounded Shinya into dust, and won in 47 seconds. And it was only after this that the UFC said, okay dude we'll sign you. So Ben Askren left Asia and went to go fight in the UFC finally.
It became abundantly clear that Ben Askren was out of his depth in the UFC. Firstly, he was admittedly little washed up at this point. Years of fighting had taken its toll on him and he didn't look exactly like a spring chicken. But it also became clear that anyone in the UFC with decent striking skills could lay out Ben Askren. Robbie Lawler put the hurt on Ben Askren and almost knocked him out: Ben won in a very controversial fashion, putting a submission on Robbie that Robbie didn't tap out to. In his next fight, Ben Askren would break the internet by being on the receiving end of a flying knee from Jorge Masvidal for the shortest fight in UFC history at 7 seconds. Ben tried to shoot for the legs (wrestle the guy to the ground) as he always did, and Jorge knew that was coming and straight-up kneed the man in his dome piece knocking him out cold. Finally the UFC said alright, he cant fight on his feet, we'll give him someone who also can't really fight on his feet. So they matched him up with Demian Maia, who is legitimately, probably, the greatest Jiu Jitsu fighter in UFC history. He is probably the Michael Jordan of Jiu Jitsu. However, like Askren, is limited by the fact that he can't really box, and no one in their right mind wants to wrestle with Demian, so every fight Demian has kind of looks like two kids who agreed to fight after school in the playground, and they're both too scared to swing first. So yeah, perfect for Askren.
Askren vs Demia Maia is literally one of the worst fights I've ever seen in my life, and one of the poorest performances Ive ever seen from a fighter. That fighter was Ben Askren. Ben Askren literally struggled to outbox the WORST boxer in the UFC. His striking was HORRENDOUSLY non existent. Demian Maia managed to look like Floyd Mayweather against Ben Askren. And then, Demian Maia beat Askren at his own game, by bringing Ben Askren to the ground and choking him out in the third round. And after that, the UFC said ain't no way, youre donezo, and released him,.
So when Askren agreed to box Jake Paul, there was a part of me that said, Jake Paul might actually win this. This is like a dog agreeing to a swimming race against a guppy. Yeah, a guppy isn't that great and probably is gonna get beat by every other fish, but a guppy can definitely beat a dog. The dog doesn't belong in the water. And as we saw in that fight, the dog finally drowned....
OR, the dog threw the fight. Because Ben Askren was paid literally the highest paycheck in his entire career (MMA fighters don't make that much, especially in the UFC - whole thing is crooked if you ask me). And if a fight was to be rigged, you can bet that losing persons paycheck is going to look like that. Becasue Ben askren doesn't care much about his reputation at this point. And if he's gonna be payed that much to dive against Jake Paul, who cares? He's set. So we live in a world with two possibilities. Either Ben Askrens boxing is so terrible that he managed to lose against a nothing youtuber, or that Jake Paul is so rich, he can entice a professional fighter to take a dive against him. In this world, either scenario is entirely possible.

My opinion is simple, Jake trains a lot, he's trash but he still trains. Ben showed up in the worst shape he's been in in years. Jake isn't a good fighter, fighters just need to take him seriously, cause yeah a nice payday for a month or so off is nice but what none of them seem to get is that they are now jokes and Jake keeps getting worse.
