  • So it's here! My analysis of the R&G Dept salvaged from the depths of nonexistence that it may have fallen to thanks to my technical difficulties.
    I hope that nobody minds how much of the video was taken up by enemies, it's just that most of the floor is taken up by enemies as well.

    - "Hit's Bakery" told me that Brollets are in reference to the game Broforce. Heard of the game, but never played it, so I didn't pick up on the reference.
    - "ketra1504" informed me that the Armoured Bullet Kin's spirit is a reference to Dark Souls. Again, a game I've (regrettably) never played. Maybe once I finish Super Mario World.

    This is a replacement of a comment previously made, where I said "It's pronounced gigi not gigi" as a joke. But having almost finished the video now, I'm changing it to this:
    When you made the comment about the hollow and forge being opposites, and Rng Dept. being inbetween, it made me think of it as a "heaven/hell" situation. I *am* aware that there is "bullet hell". However, the forge, being made of fire and ashen monsters, is below the hollow, made of, well, the opposite. And, seeing as the Rng Dept is in-between, and seems to take place in a city, it makes a little sense. Heaven above, and hell below, with the normal land in-between. This also kind of acts as a purgatory for enemies that seem to be cut from the game. The desert, pirate, and space enemies all ended up here, Alongside Agunim. This isnt really a real floor, anyway. It doesnt follow the gungeons rules. It doesnt change, it doesnt have chests, shops, a real boss. Agunim *shouldnt* be there. He moved there, kind of like gungeoneers.

  • @thecryptidhunters3807
    @thecryptidhunters3807 Před 5 lety +4

    Obviously the farewell to arms update was a last hoorah because the developers decided working on the game was too difficult in it's current state, and they wanted to move onto other things.
    So the R&G department is just thrown in there for fun and I accept that now.
    But that being said, every floor has a secret floor in between, the keep had the oubliette, the gungeon proper had the abbey, the mines had the rat maze, and if you squint, I consider bullet hell to be the secret floor to the forge.
    MY idea for the secret floor to the hollow is some dark dank cave under the hollow where the rift the killithid and phaser spiders originate from, and the boss involves closing the rift.
    If you think about it, it makes sense. The killithid are known for preferring cold areas, namely the hollow, why not have a themed floor connected to the floor they're most associated with

  • @eloc06
    @eloc06 Před 4 lety +3

    Agunim is definitely a reference to "A Link To The Past", in the video, you said something like "Agunim is a wizard apprentice to the powerful cannon, who tried to invade the gungeon long ago and failed." In the Zelda game, Agahnim (Agunim) is a wizard apprentice to Ganon (Cannon), and years before Ganon had tried to invade Hyrule (The Gungeon), but was banished to the the sacred realm, which was transformed into the dark world. That last bit was just some other part of the lore, but I found that reference really interesting

I agree with the pirate and western categories, but I'm thinking that the mutant part of the "future" category could go with the angry necronomicon, stone tablet and candle guys to form a magic/kaliber goup, with maybe the armored bullet kins to. I have a feeling that the entrance of the gunegon is actually at an elevation above a planet. The first few floors can be leading down to the hollow, at the top of a mountain. The higher elevation is cooler ( Hollow) and under the R&G dept is the crust of the planet. Almost like the gungeoneer slid down a mountain on their way to the R&G dept. As you go deeper, it gets hotter. The forge can close to the planet's core. While bullet hell IS the core.
    Also the Cylinders look like the robots from the old sonic cartoon.

      @@Nevernamed Well, after giving it some thought, I'm actually wondering if it is two planets almost sandwiched on top of each other, or a world inside of a world. The hollow could be an underground ocean frozen by a lack of sunlight or warmth. I've been on a few caving adventures with some family members and if it gets deep enough water can actually freeze. But besides that, the RNG department can be a completely artificial world, one made solely for other inhabitants of the gungeon. In many comics like the old Sonic comics there is a hidden world completely inhabitated by humans, complete with an artificial sky, and many more things. Maybe the RNG department is that very thing? Then again, this is the gungeon we are talking about. We have a Mermaid Shotgun, after all.

    I actually found this randomly with a friend of mine when the update was fairly new in a funny instance... since I was playing the Cultist, I let them have most of the good items and, they basically said "I'm going to give them my master round, we really need the money lol", I nearly lost my head over it but, a part of me was chuckling of laughter on the inside since it's a master round but, the floor opened up and, me and, my friend turned and, looked at each other in confusion as the floor opened up and, in disgust at the full form of the sell creep and, we both ended up laughing and, giving each other a "What the f___ was that?!" reaction, we were shocked at the boss battle and, my friend had flight so, actually couldn't leave the area and, I don't remember why but, they couldn't lose their flight(, I think we had controller issues or, something like that), if I weren't alive the whole run would've been forfeit since I didn't have flight, I dropped down making our exit, we finished, confused, baffled and, very pleased.

    "no enemies here have a ammonomicon entry... ...they don't want to clog up the ammonomicon with enemies that only appear on one floor"
    yes I searched this up
    Tanker
    Minelet
    Fallen bullet kin
    Shotgrub
    Bombshee
    Det
    Tombstoner
    Mountain cube
    Lead cube
    Flesh cube
    all appear on only one floor AND have ammonomicon entries, I could understand with the reskins, but it might have been because they didn't want to make the physical ammonomicon out dated

    I'm two years late and I don't know if another comment brought it up or not. This is a reference to the movie "Army of Darkness." In that film, the protagonist Ash must find the Necronomicon and utter the words "Klaatu Barada Nikto" (instead of Beretta, the gun-ified version).
