Love your Bike Helmet Light! Thanks for your videos.
Sure thing. Thanks!
Hi, great videos! I watched your long term test of original Direto and you mentioned the gradient lag on Zwift and also seen forum comments about Direto Zwift lag. What wanted to ask is whether the Direto X has addressed this? I saw in DC Rainmakers review that he felt the Direto X was following pretty well through rollers of Titans Grove and wondered if you had also felt the improvements? Finally how does gradient change responsiveness of the Suito compare would you say? Thanks!
I bought a Direto X over the holidays, and just started using it in the last week. I have to say i´m very disappointed in the road feel. My previous trainer was a first gen wahoo snap, and its road feel was much better. The direto X feels like i´m riding through wet sand or constantly climbing, if that makes sense. Or in anther way to describe it, like the brakes are always on. No momentum in the pedaling at all.
It also handles slope transitions very abruptly. Even with only a 1% slope change it feels like a brake being released. Almost like ride up a staircase where you go from slope to flat in an instant.
Has anyone else noticed this? I only use zwift in sim mode, and it´s not fun with this trainer.
Anyone have any experience with the Saris H3 in these regards?
Nice video! you explain all things really nice! I would to ask you.
I,m looking for a new direct drive trainer beacuase of my old bkool smart pro 2 is died!
Nowadays I have two options:
-Kickr CORE (799)
-Eltite Direto X (719)
But I can´t dicide for one of this. I´m going to work in the trainer 7-8 hours per week. Noise is important but I think that the new Directo X is similar to the CORE.
What is your recomendation?
I could go up me to a Neo 2 or Kikr 18, but I prefer to use minus money
Can you help me?
Thanks for all!
Nice Video, thanks!
Sure thing!
What do you recommend:
- Elite Direto X
- Wahoo kickr core
- Tacx Flux 2
I just can't decide
Well in my opinion I would not buy a FLUX X, I had two FLUX S and a FlUX 2..all units broke after about 5-6 month of usage (around 1500km).
@@martinpaut okay, but there are also many people saying, that the kickr core has the same quality issues
@@gumzster I went for the kickr core and it is amazing. No problems so far.
I can also recommend you to read DC Rainmakers Reviews, they helped me alot.
How do you like it so far? Im having same dilemma nie - core or direto x
Hi Des, grerat video. Will this trainer work with my Trek 8 X Caliber (2017) MTB? I can't find anything in trek specs about axle size. Cheers.
Hello, considering your review you wouldn't recommend it to someone who is training A LOT on erg mode on zwift ??
Hi! THX for the video. Did you already perform a workout in ERG-Mode? I was told, that the original direto hat some issues in erg-mode. Best regards Martin
Yes, I went through one of the results in the video.
@@DesFit ok thank you, maybe I overlooked it.
Nice
Hi,
Thank you for this presentation.
To begin with Zwift what is the better quality-price trainer? Direto X or Suito?
Suito. Direto X is a good trainer, but the Suito is a great value.
Thank you 👍
@@DesFit Have you tried the Elite Zumo?
suito is problematic, go read the review at dc rainmaker.
Did they address the bearings and snapping belt issue?
I’ll have to ping Elite about this.
@@DesFit sticking around for this answer.
I've bought this an got set up lastnight although my speed (mph) was reading 228 an in just over an hour cover 84miles,how do i rectify this,is it just to do with the sensors or my wahoo reading way out.thanks john
Depends on the device that you are using to record speed/distance, but I believe it should be set to 175 in most circumstances.
What is it going to cost?
It works with quick release?
Yup!
Is there a big upgrade over original Direto which retails at £550 ?
The X is much quieter, but that’s about it.
So - short question. Should I get Direto X or kickr core? ;)
Core will be quieter but less stable, Direto X will be slightly louder but very stable. The Core is extremely smooth but almost too smooth where as the Direto does have a tiny bit of vibration, but I think that adds to some road feel.
@@DesFit What do you mean by 'stable'? Also - I don't think vibration is anygood in such mechanical device
Hi , is compatible with cassete Shimano SLX 11v?
Yup, pretty much all trainers will be compatible with 11 speed and below Shimano cassettes.
@@DesFit thanks!
So you have to disassemble the rear wheel of your bike to use it. I don't think this is optimal for some users..
Yes, as this is a direct drive trainer which can have distinct advantage over the tire-on counterparts. They are in general much quieter, more accurate, you won’t wear out a tire, and there is no chance of slippage from the tire. Of course, as you mentioned there is the slight inconvenience of removing the rear tire.
Have you used a direct drive before?
