ustadji - you just take me to heaven with this ethereal music; if there is a heaven, it is this, it is here, and the best music across all ages and across all boundaries

Why was it necessary to show half of Subhranil on Tanpura and half of Subhajyoti Guha on camera, instead of focusing full on the Tablist and Khan Sahib? And those mindless .... who came late, and then kept going out and coming in during performance. Once they leave they should not be allowed to come back. But to begin with, doors should be closed 5 minutes before the performance begins and no latecomers allowed in at all, until intermission time. Again, those busy with their samosas and tea during intermission should stay out once doors close. And what a dull audience who didn't know how to clap in appreciation after each difficult taankari part performed by the great Ustad. What a great and complete Jog performance by Ustad Shahid Parvez. Wonderful!!

This video shows the reason why Dover Lane is the artist's delight. The great, cultured bong connoisseurs would move continuously, be it Ustad AAK or SP, Pandit BJ or Jasraj. They are perennially thirsty for water, tea and other better things. They always need toilets after the raga starts. Add awkward whispers and claps at wrong places. Yes, it needs guts to perform at the cultural capital of India.

Extremely poor uthan by Subhajyoti Guha. Usually he is very sharp, but in this particular instance he is very indecisive

Agreed completely. That was the first thing I noticed too. He picked up the 'sam' half way into the gat, that is after first avartan.

@@ramachandrabhakta4200 he was tageting the mukhra of the gaat actually. This a type of sangat. I like that very much in other places but yes from uthan it is not needed beacuse in uthan we need some charming bols that comes to the actual sam.

@@deepranjanghosh1851 isn't targetting the tihai to end at the mukhda way more challenging than just simply focusing on the sam. I've seen very few accompanists being able to do it

@@prateekjoshi7162 You haven't read my comment properly. I told that I like that very much. I just told that I don't like that from the uthan. Its not the form of uthan. It is part of accompaniment.
