Hello, I am a US citizen living in German... I took the course to become a hunter so I could buy 2 handguns... the P5 was one of my choices. It cost me 340.00 euro... I am starting to figure out that I got an amazing deal. I haven't fired it yet but I appreciate your video. BTW the other gun I bought was a Walther PPK-L in pristine condition 310.00 Euro... Another amazing price
2 very cool guns indeed!
W
William, Last week I paid USD1700 for a very good one. That said, it is a pleasure to shoot and has become my favorite handgun, even ahead of the P226.
Had it for 16 years on duty and it never failed!
Niceee
got mine in the late 1980s and still have it, now considered a collector’s item, rare…
Indeed! Excellent pistol for sure!
Oh looks like a start trek phaser!
Yea it does!
Except it's not set to stun lol
AMAZING ! 👏👏👏🎯
Dutch standard police issue came with a plastic cleaning rod, a dutch manual and a paper target disk on wich the factory test shots were fired.
Nice nice
WANT
Second want!
Glad there are more videos of the P5s lately. Just scored my P5 Compact 2 months ago 😁. Greetings from Kommiefornia!
My condolences for your place of residence but yea I love the p5! Very excellent pistol that most people don't even know exists! Thanks for watching!
No worries. I’ll be moving out of this place soon, hopefully to TX where I would fit in much better.
Nice pistols like this are hard to come by already, and it’s even more difficult due to our “safe handgun roster”. Expect to pay double the free state price for something like this :(
I recently acquired my first P5. Wow...
Awesome gun!
Dude. Iconic classic.
Yes it is
I hope this gets remade and becomes CA compliant.
I also hope a design like this will be made for Glock. A design in this type of shape.
Probably never gunna happen unfortunately
I have two working on a third.
Siiickkk!
If Darth Vader carried a sidearm, it would be one of these.
Or an hk mk23 or usp 45
I paid $775.00 for a mint condition one about 6 years ago. Glad I did!
That's one awesome price
Did you forget that the Beretta M1934 exists? The P38 wasn't the first to have open-top design, but it was definitely the gun that then inspired the design of the Beretta 92.
And why are you so afraid of dry-firing? It's not a rimfire gun.
You're a rimfire gun...
Dutch police, customs, justice department and wildlife rangers had this gun from 1979 until 2012. Because it was discontinued in 1993 all replacement parts were specially made for the Dutch. Around 2012 this became too expensive and it was replaced with the P99.
Awesome info man! Thanks for watching!
One on GB right now. Current Bid: $2,450. Buy Now: $3,400. Whew!
Yea they're definitely not cheap
That was likely a compact. Standard P5s can be had for under $1000 regularly.
I paid 500 for my last one !
Very interesting gun. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
The left side eject is a carry over from the fact it is based on the P38 WW2 German design.
P.38 was not left hand eject though
@@TerriblyTactical yes it is www.waltherforums.com/forum/p5/24571-left-side-ejection.html
@@TerriblyTactical pistolsmith.com/gun-talk/15251-why-p-38-ejects-th-left.html
the P 38 is a originaly a Walther. Greetings from Germany
What is the feel or difference in the grip between the p5 and the p38? Because I’ve handled a p38 and the grip seemed unusually large for an old single stack pistol !! Just wondering as I was thinking of purchasing a p5 possibly .
They are two very different guns but neither of them have too svelte of a grip on them
Beretta did they open slide thing first. I'll go check if I'm wrong
Def was Walther with the p38
@@TerriblyTactical Beretta M1934 beats the Walther P38 even for my most earliest design in 1937
Great video Tac. I dont know to much about the older Walther guns. That ones pretty cool I think. And its 9x19 my favorite handgun caliber :) Thanks for the vid. And yes Ill be uploading in a few days again.
45 acp is the greatest handgun caliber ever devised lol
Nah man 10mm is the best millimeter!
Great Video!!! Awesome!!! Good Information!!!
Thanks brother!
blowback or locked breech? Says the latter on wikipedia.
Nice job !
Thanks!
You wanna use the Lord's name in vain won't watch your videos
