How did I end up watching this video? I don't even like crawfish! Anyways, great video, very thorough with instructions. No one: CZcams: Let's watch a video on how crawfish are made
One personal recommendation, if I may humbly suggest one, add pineapple. Tastes amazing with all the seasoning, crawfish juices. Also, halved lemons and split in half entire bulbs of garlic.
Oh my god. Just randomly got this in recommended. Thank you for the video :) it’s like a flash of all my favorite memories.. I miss mobile SO much.... best place I’ve ever lived. There’s nothing like some Alabama crawfish😩 we ate shrimp boils more than we went to the store🤣 I haven’t been able to find seafood like that since I moved.
Only video on CZcams that shows the correct way to boil crawfish. Just because some dude claims to be from Louisiana and shakes cooked bugs around in a box full of seasoning, doesn't mean he's right.
Very interesting! I'm fascinated how you Americans boil crawfish, i've noticed alot of Americans don't eat the claws?? Here in Sweden we boil our crawfish in dill, beer, salt, water and onions. And we never kill our crawfish in the pot with the seasoning, we use a separate pot for that :)
Well, I don't think most Americans will have ever actually eaten boiled crawfish. The only area where they're eaten regularly by "most" people is here in southern Louisiana. Most of the boiled crawfish elsewhere in the U.S. is extremely expensive, poorly cooked, and/or the crawfish are often imported frozen from industrial shellfish farms in China, whereas no respectable seafood restaurant in Louisiana would ever serve boiled crawfish that weren't swimming around a local swamp not long before (no one down here would eat them otherwise). The guy in the video is from Alabama, but he seems to have done a good job by our standards. He did it pretty much how it would be done here... all in a big pot with whole potatoes, corn cobs, sausage, and lots and lots of seasoning. As far as eating the claws, we do absolutely eat the claw meat. Down here, it is also tradition to literally suck the juice out of the head with one's mouth after pulling it off the body! Funny about the separate pot thing... I could probably walk up to anyone down here and ask him if they think crawfish should be killed before being set to boil and they'd probably either scoff or laugh in my face. Haha!
I eat the claws if they're large enough but most of the time I find it's not worth the time it takes. Gotta make sure you eat everything while it's hot!
Man im a stone cold philly getto guy n yall got my mouth watering over here i definitely need to come down south n get me a big ole plate n get back to the roots of life
hey, cajun here, what we do is after we let the crawfish soak is we put them in an icechest and cover them with extra seasoning so it get steamed in as well, ads an extra kick to them.
She didn't suck the juice out of the head!!! Had a boil with a Good ol Boy from Baton Rouge, every batch he made, he added more zatarain's crab boil. Big party and on the 4th batch the soooo friggin' hot!!!
I've been using this recipe(with some small tweaks) since this video dropped every single year for my family and everyone loves it!! Thank you so much for sharing!
What a nice crawfish boil! As a European, I have always wondered why Americans don't really eat what's inside the head. Normally, we remove the "pope's hat" and then eat the insides, and it tastes great!
I saw that Conecuh sausage!!! Best damn sausage I've ever had. They need to make that nationally distributed in every grocery store. Have to rely on my ex-wife from LA for it.
You did such a great job on step by step instructions I've always been kinda intimidated on doing a crawfish boil but your video made it possible and I have to say them were the best dag gone mud bugs I've ever ate. I first tried them as a boy when my uncle was in the coast gaurd down in mobile Alabama and 30 years later I'm making my own thanks for sharing your recipe
Great video man, thanks! TX here, I’ve cooked for small fam gatherings and watched a few. We are big on adding crushed or whole garlic cloves, cut lemons, and sticks of butter or Louisiana Crawfish Boil OIL. Seems to help us from shells sticking to meat. Thanks again, go Longhorns!!
Damn, Im from South Louisiana basically the farthest south you can go. We eat crawfish a lot down here and its amazing. I find it amusing how people thinks they disgusting, I laugh every time.
Retired Texan here, if you really want that boil to be good then add cumin powder, but do it sparingly because it is a strong spice which is like an imitation of a salty flavor. I just gave you a big secret, now here is another secret,,,,Zatarains is a spice made with dried fish powder which my dad and my grandpa both simply used dried fish powder mixed with beef bullion powder or dissolved cubes and I have used fish powder mixed with beef or chicken stock also. you can thank me in the next life. Lol To make the dried fish simply6 place minnows on a sheet corrugated tin and let it dry in the sun. Then grind it in a grinder or a hand mill.
Interesting! I've been using a lot of cumin pwdr lately and will be have'n a boil tomorrow. I might have to give it a try. Guessing 1/3 cup per 60 qt pot for 20#'s of crawfish?

My kids and I learned the Crawdad Song for our folk song study this month, and looked for more notes on crawdads. Your video was informative and entertaining, and show a beautiful Southern life. thank you!
Yeeeeahaaa Sweet home Alabama.
Country of freedom.
How did I end up watching this video? I don't even like crawfish! Anyways, great video, very thorough with instructions.
No one:
CZcams: Let's watch a video on how crawfish are made
I don't like them either but wanted to know how to cook them.
One personal recommendation, if I may humbly suggest one, add pineapple. Tastes amazing with all the seasoning, crawfish juices. Also, halved lemons and split in half entire bulbs of garlic.
MrKernkraft4000 nahh u keep tht recommendation to yourself
If I knew I was going to die, this would be the last video I’d like to watch. Something about is so relaxing, so mesmerizing.
I watch them 3 times in the past but for some reason now it’s recommended
Man, you have me craving Crawfish at 1am... Damn you 🤣🤣🤣 It sure looks like a Meal.
Only video on CZcams that shows the correct way to boil crawfish. Just because some dude claims to be from Louisiana and shakes cooked bugs around in a box full of seasoning, doesn't mean he's right.
8:37
"Alright, they're ready." *trips and dumps all the crawfish inside the middle into the trash can*
"Ahhh gahd damn it Bobby." lol
Bro idk how you have gotten more likes. I literally have read through all the comments and this is for sure the funniest.
*haven’t
@@alexfamily10 hahah glad you enjoy my sense of humor
Haha!
I want my crawfish's last dying breath of water to be that seasoned boil I dunk them in. That's the best flavor right there boy
I eat the claws if they're large enough but most of the time I find it's not worth the time it takes. Gotta make sure you eat everything while it's hot!
Here in Sweden we mostly eat our crawfish cold. There is a trick on how to get the claw-meat in just a second or two. It's here on CZcams!
Mr. V basically anywhere in the south you can get good crawdads. I live in Texas, and I’ve been to quite a few good boils myself.
Following this recipe for a crawfish boil that's kicking off in about an hour!! Had the mudbugs shipped to VA from Raceland, LA.
Man im a stone cold philly getto guy n yall got my mouth watering over here i definitely need to come down south n get me a big ole plate n get back to the roots of life
This is the most soft spoken southtener i've ever heard
Yeah let’s go I’m from Louisiana best fish by far
on the black table it is wrote " laisse les bon temps rouler". Its french and it means " let the good time roling " or something like that x)
Let the good times roll.
Let the beers go out and the boys into our yard.
let the good times roll. slogan for New Orleans
hey, cajun here, what we do is after we let the crawfish soak is we put them in an icechest and cover them with extra seasoning so it get steamed in as well, ads an extra kick to them.
She didn't suck the juice out of the head!!!
Had a boil with a Good ol Boy from Baton Rouge, every batch he made, he added more zatarain's crab boil. Big party and on the 4th batch the soooo friggin' hot!!!
EIGHT I WAS LIKE OOO
@@foobarmaximus3506 Then you don't truly know the flavor of the mudbugs. Like eating a Kobayashi steak and trimmin the fat off. For real!!!
One of the cleanest, and most efficient crawfish boils I've seen so far 👍
I've been using this recipe(with some small tweaks) since this video dropped every single year for my family and everyone loves it!! Thank you so much for sharing!
Why am I and everyone watching this at 1 am and craving this so badly. Might as well drive down to Alabama and get some practice with ya
John D. Rockefeller lmao Ik
Never had crawfish. Aint a big seafood guy. But MAN did I get hungry watching this 😂
Don’t go to a crappy place for your first try of eating em 👍🏼 they are great
Craws are basically bite-sized lobsters but with a different taste.
I just ordered the seasoning. I cant wait to try it out. Thanks Bama!
Hey man! Thanks for the video! I'm actually going to be doing my first boil tomorrow! I even put in my order at R&R. Thanks for the help!
What a nice crawfish boil!
As a European, I have always wondered why Americans don't really eat what's inside the head. Normally, we remove the "pope's hat" and then eat the insides, and it tastes great!
That is a beautiful child and now I am fired up to try some craw.
Patrick Connors ...She is so cute 😁
Looks absolutely fantastic! Hope to be able to try some crawfish once covid restrictions lift. Greetings from the tiny islands of Palau!
I saw that Conecuh sausage!!! Best damn sausage I've ever had. They need to make that nationally distributed in every grocery store. Have to rely on my ex-wife from LA for it.
MrKernkraft4000 LoL
This video pops up in my recommended every few months.......and I’ve watched it every time
Man that makes me want to go back to Alabama. R & R is a good place.
I always considered them as baby lobsters. You need about 60-100 to be full on the stomach.
More like 200. There's little to no meat
2 lbs. but some daddys a pretty good sized.
Thats your heartbeat per 1min
I live on the east coast and it’s so cool to learn what other people eat around the country. If I ever go the Midwest I’m definitely eating crawfish
DC dumpster baby this is in the south not Midwest
*1,300 crawfish disliked.*
No they are vegans
lmfao
Because they threw the head away, no beer, and not using the water for sauce
And peta lol
1500 lmao
Great video man, thanks! TX here, I’ve cooked for small fam gatherings and watched a few. We are big on adding crushed or whole garlic cloves, cut lemons, and sticks of butter or Louisiana Crawfish Boil OIL. Seems to help us from shells sticking to meat. Thanks again, go Longhorns!!
I live in New England and we are big on Maine lobster, I must say that I’ve always wanted to try a crawfish boil..
Awesome job I lived in New Orleans as a child and I miss them every day
Lemons, onion, garlic, and ya’ll betta suc da head yea cher... lol

Legendary Weapon I live in Saskatchewan,Canada
Kayleb Moore food in Virginia is basic
I love crawfish
