Tua was more “ready” - ask anyone from 1st team D. Saban was the last onboard for a switch because of loyalty even though Tua killing it in practice.
If you look at Jalen’s numbers vs top 25 & elite defenses you will see. And, I DARE you to Look at his numbers in 3 playoff games, Wash, Clemson twice AND 1st half vs Georgia. Defense was on the field damn near 100 plays vs Watson.
Sitting behind Tua with pressure off and practice was the best thing for him.
Young man had EVERY tangible you can imagine. Now He FINALLY has had some consistency and time to develop.

He spent the off season putting in the work; working with a premier QB coach working on his passing-staying in the pocket. Also, critics talked about him not having a throwing arm but that 53 yd TD looked like he has a bit of an arm. I think he knows what the critics are saying and he’s working on honing his craft. If he keeps improving, maybe the naysayers will start taking him seriously.

I'm an Eagles fan. Skip have been saying the whole off season, watch Jalen Hurts. I've said before, Jalen has the kind of off season work ethic thats going to cause him to get better and he's going to keep getting better. Jalen promised to take the Eagles to the Super Bowl THIS YEAR and I believe you man! He will probably be the best quarterback in the league this year because of his work ethic.
Hurts leadership is his most important quality. His teammates play hard for him. Coaches coach hard for him. He’s a true alpha male.

He showed flashes of what he may become but it’s not a secret that mobile QBs don’t last long in this league. I am very impressed by how much he’s improved this off-season but at the same time he takes a punishing back there and you can’t help but worry he possibly could get a serious injury or he in and out with injuries when your getting hit that much. I would say your not a fan if you blindly follow a player just because you want them to succeed, there’s absolutely no way at the end of last year an honest person would say I’m 100% confident he’s going to improve a lot over the offseason especially when one of his weakness is his arm/accuracy. I love what I’m seeing from him and the team so far but let’s see how hurts performers when he needs to make throws because the defense is being stingy and can’t use his legs, i think he will succeed and certainly hope so as a fan but we won’t truly know until he faces some adversity
Eagles played very well against the Vikings. The running back game was threatening enough that the MN Defense couldn't let the backs go, and there are enough receivers that you couldn't do effective secondary defense, and then with Jalen Hurts' legs being as good as they are...wow. How do you defend against that?
And great credit to the Eagles' defensive scheme. Understanding the weakness and pressing the issue, defending better against the run, and trusting your secondary to lock down the opposing receivers from having a game at all.
Keep this up and the Eagles are going to be a real NFC superbowl contender; just tidy up those penalties.

I'm hoping this is a sign for the future that he'll continue to improve as a passer, and although he'll probably never be the arm talent that Allen or Rodgers or Mahomes is, if he can be at least a tier 2/3 passer and we keep the weapons around him, this team is going to be very special. Yep I thought last night was the best 1st half jalen has had with the Eagles. He was great in the pocket and was looking downfield but sometimes holds the ball longer than expected when receivers are open. However, there is very noticeable progress that he has made from last to this season. Just hope he grows more comfortable and confident back there

Cousins had a bad game but his receivers were also pretty bad with the drops and poor route running. On the other side, Hurts has been really good. He's seeing the field better, has better touch, and he can still run it in when he needs to.

FLY EAGLES FLY! I was incredibly impressed by Hurts throwing the ball last night, but even more importantly was the DEFENCE. Minnesota didn't score after the first drive. Slay had 2 picks and COULDVE had 2 more. They constantly stepped up and shut Minnesota down. Even after the blocked field goal and INT off the hands. Great game by the D

I will admit that I have been crical of Hurts because I believe that Hurts needed to improve on throwing from the pocket. What I saw last night showed that Hurts has put in the work to improve his weakness and that throwing the ball consistently and being accurate. If Hurts continues to play like this Philly will be hard to beat.
