  • The next generation of professional pen displays is here with the arrival of the Wacom Cintiq Pro family! Wacom released three different sizes of their Cintiq Pro series: 17", 22" and the mighty 27" version!
    In this video, I unbox and review these models, alongside the corresponding Wacom Stands as well as the Wacom Flex Arm. Additionally I will also share my go-to choice of possible accessories that I have mounted to the Cintiq Pro.
    (Disclaimer: This is not a paid or sponsored video but I did receive a review unit. However, I’ve been a very happy Wacom tablet user for over 20 years and I do work with Wacom on creative projects. All the opinions, thoughts and impressions you will hear and see in this video are entirely my own and are made to help you get an overview of these professional tools.)

      Are Xencelabs and Huion better in terms of quality?

    • @dpptd30
      @dpptd30 Před 7 měsíci

      @@karenreddy No, they are less accurate, does not have multi-touch, have noticeably more parallax, less durable, and much less color accurate, I know that because I owned a Huion Kamvas Pro 13, it's parallax compared to even a 2019 Wacom one 13 is just sh*t, even though the Wacom does not have a laminated display; the IPS screen actually have color shift due to overheating on the spot where it heats up frequently and I haven't even used it for 2 years; their driver is also very glitchy, my Huion tablet's driver freaks out blender when I try to use the express key on the pen to pan around, it is absolutely unusable in blender. I don't understand how it got a 4.5 star on amazon, I guess people who buys this kind of cheap Chinese tablet are amateur artists who don't care about parallax, pen accuracy, color accuracy, or just general reliability. Never buying one of this ever again, currently getting myself a Cintiq pro.

    Seriously... the gen to gen specs are not like light years ahead... yet the pricing on these display tablets is absolutely absurd. Even their lower gen products are not THAT affordable. Their pen tablet are still twice the price of comparable products. I hope xencelab hurry up with the different display tablets. They only have one so far. It seems people really like them.

      It's idiotic. I'm using a very old Cintiq - it's got massive bezels, heavy, comparitively low resolution - but there is no way on earth I'm paying these prices to replace it any time soon, their unit sales must be plummeting - at least I hope so, greedy buggers.

    Seems like a good product but Wacom behavior is like there is no competition out there. $2,000 for a 17 inch screen? Not in my life time. And thats coming from a 32 inch Cintiq Pro Owner.

    • @don-dori
      @don-dori Před 8 měsíci +2

      Competition isn't close enough yet to cause worry. Wacom packs luxury features compared to others and on top of that adds extra simply because customer still accepts it.

    • @SketchPLAY1
      @SketchPLAY1 Před 8 měsíci +9

      @@don-dori Not worth all the "luxury" in my opinion. At the end of the day, it's put pen on screen make mark, and the price just isn't worth it for that.

    • @don-dori
      @don-dori Před 8 měsíci +3

      @@SketchPLAY1 Agreed, would be nice if they offered non-touch version at least. That alone would cut the price for $300-500 and it's a feature not everyone wants, maybe even offer a 1440p res. But doing that they would go into the "budget" territory which they don't seem to be willing to do with Cintiq family (especially not Pro version). Wacom's main aim with Cintiq are larger studios rather than individuals, and there they can put whatever they want and sell for whatever crazy price simply because industry accepts it as "industry standard". Same deal with Adobe vs competition in software field, sadly.

    • @SketchPLAY1
      @SketchPLAY1 Před 8 měsíci

      @@don-doriYep that would lower the cost for sure I think touch devices are more suitable for mobile devices, not to say they cant be used in stationary setups. I honestly think that Wacom will go bust soon if they don't figure out a way to compete with the Chinese brands.

    • @robertoaguiluz7350
      @robertoaguiluz7350 Před 8 měsíci +5

      @@don-dori Competition isn't close enough? A freaking iPad has a 120hz screen, arguably a better pen experience, definitely better touch implementation, better software integration, better utility, hell, it can work on it's own for many hours and you can get one for $500. Pen and Procreate included. That still talking expensive. If Wacom doest wake up from this denial they will soon cease to exist like Kodak.

    I would love to see a direct comparison between the XP-Pen Artist Pro 16 (Gen 2) and the Cintiq 16.
    In terms of sensation when drawing, but mainly in terms of quality and durability.
    I know that the Cintiq 16 is inferior in terms of technical specifications, but I'm still considering buying it because I still don't know how long this XPPen will last, but I know that Wacom is reliable in this regard.

    I really enjoy using all my Wacom. I guess I gonna see you every new cintiq release 😂 which is good. I do enjoy n like your review style n detail provides. Having said that the only thing I would hope for is the non touch version for 22 and/or 27 inches model. The flex arm mount is a nice touch. However if i happen to get one of these new Cintiq pro, i would go for the stand this time as it doesn’t take much space nor bulky n heavy.

    How did you feel about the pixel density between the 22 and 27? Being so close while drawing I worry that the 27 may not feel as nice to use as the 22 with its slightly reduced clarity.

    • @RobertHranitzky
      @RobertHranitzky  Před 5 měsíci

      There is really no right or wrong when it comes to this. The density is indeed higher with the 22 and the footprint is nice too with a good balance of physical size to available pixel workspace/size. Even more density with the 17 but that one is too small for my workflow.

    I bought the 27 which I use in home/office and the 17 for mobile/portable use (kinda big). I also found an amazing solid, small stand. Now that the Wacom macOS drivers are solid (they weren't about 18 months ago), they are worth the price.

    Thank you for this, the info regarding the (multi) touch feature on these displays on Wacoms site was worrisome. I have the original 22" multi-touch gesture screen. I got used to it throughout the years, & adore it. I don't want to be spending $3K, plus tax on a screen that don't have that ability (the 22" with the Wacom 3 pen is the one I'm most curious on). Pretty sure that my Ergotron arm (that I use for my current Wacom) would work on this new screen also.

    The (multi) touch feature is the most important thing to me. I went to their site & the info regarding that was atrocious. I have the original 22" (multi) touch screen version, with the original pen & holder. I adore it, but it's getting on in years & can only go so much in depth with certain pieces (since it only goes to 1980x1080). Don't want to be spending $3K, & there's no (multi) touch feature.

Wacom pen is still the best drawing to date the competitors suffer with colour accuracy, parallax issues, weird driver quirks , still refuse to give us 120hz and some like xp pen are pumping out fucking 1080p screens and small android tablets. Huion is the only serious competitor, the closest we have gotten is the new kamvas 19, which is more smart buy than this ridiculous wacom 17, and kamvas 27 which is expensive for a 60hz panel.
