How to remove objects in videos with Content-Aware Fill in Adobe After Effects

No more frame by frame rotoscoping to remove unwanted areas, because now it is easier and faster than ever before! Dolan Dark oh absolutely! In fact I’ve tried it, but wasn’t happy with the results as there was quite a significant area to remove with relatively little area to (automatically) gather material. Hence the manual old school way

How about removing a magic arm from a moving reflective surface? This kinda doesn't seem to work... Maybe there is a way manually mask the object ?

I'm not getting a transparent space where the mask is. Mine is black and when I generate fill layer, nothing is happening. The mask space is still black. Am I missing something?

I am facing one issue. I have some text in the video. The text is shown only for some duration of the video. I am trying to remove that text using content aware. But what happens is, the mask is shown for the whole duration of the video.. I want to show the mask only for some specific duration. How can I do that? Thanks in advance.

Tobias Crow thank you. Did you make sure the Alpha Info (mask or luma matte) is throughout the clip and not just one frame? Does the preview show the transparency with the purple and white areas on a black background?

Of course. You can put anything over it
PROBLEM while using content aware fill- It either:
*1. Creates only 1 frame covering up what I wanted- but nothing in the rest of the frames [just empty pixels]*
*2. It creates a cover for ALL frames- but they don't track the wanted area at all.*
What to do? Who noticed this bug too?
eladbari content aware fill doesn’t track the area you want to be filled. You need to have the area masked either frame by frame, tracked or animated.

Does nothing, all I get is a black box on my video?
I saw an effect where the original footage had an object with a scrolling background and the effect had the object moving over a stationary background that had been extended left/right so it was very large but included all of the footage of the background like it was one large plate.. sorry if that's confusing.. but I am trying to figure it out and this tool seems to be getting me closer.. any ideas how to do this?

After Effects is a poorly-programmed software. It didn't fill though I follow your method and it also often freezes or crashes
I Got a video of a drone moving around me in a circle there was another person near me. I would prefer that person out of the video. Problem is its at sunset and there is a alot of light change and texture change.When I do cotent aware even with photoshop reference frame it looks crap.
That is indeed a bit tricky, especially if the person is not moving! A circular move has also constant perspective changes as well as luminance, which make using a reference frame difficult. I am afraid there will be a lot of manual work involved.

meiner braucht nämlich gerade etwas länger beim Analysieren der Füllebene...
arbeitsspeicher ist momentan 16gb drin.
Leider nicht viel, weil iMac. Also am besten RAM rein was maximal geht. Alles auf SSDs (intern und extern). Die GPU ist leider wohl der Flaschenhals, aber leider auch nicht aufrüstbar.
